Don't worry, people, upon reading this post, I will never stop listening to YouKnowWho, but does anyone have any Current Music Suggestions for me, other than all this (c)rap stuff? I love 60's, 70's and 80's but is there anything besides MIKA to obsess over today? Thanks all!

Well....today...
I really like

James Blunt
Michael Bublé

I think they worth listenning nowadays...and as you mentioned the 60-70-80ies, I wont say any more...coz all my other favs are from there!

But if someone else comes to my mind I will reply!

Oh and maybe Jennifer Lopez, but it's all about your taste..I like her new album, Brave.

And well..I'M into My Chemical Romance as well...I thin they are great...really different from Mika, but I love them.

I quite like these guys - they're called One Night Only:

I see you're in the US - if you want a change of pace, try streaming some UK radio. They still play a lot of US radio staples, but there's quite a bit of variation from US top 40:

Alright here goes..

One of my favourite artists of all time is Chris Chameleon (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=60930168).
He has the same vocal range as Mika and does even crazier things with his voice.

Some bands that are just good:
Sonic Youth (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=31545506)
Idlewild (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=12190979)
Fiction Plane (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=6529710) (Sounds like a rockier version of The Police but that was to be expected since the singer is Sting's son).
Noir Désir (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=106196441)

And if you like electro you should check out some of this stuff:
Le Tigre (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=5782513)
Blaqk Audio (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=161463843)
Vive la Fête (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=118032909)
Chicks on Speed (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=28152293)
Miss Kittin (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=154139958)

Ok that's enough for now. :naughty:

Very good advice :thumb_yello: Can I also add http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 though. Also some times of day are better than others, so maybe rather than streaming when it is likely to be the middle of the night here, try listening again to certain shows... On Radio 2 my faves are Chris Evans, Ken Bruce, Steve Wright and at weekends Johnathon Ross ;)

this is what i listen to;

Ok Go; they're video clips are really fun to watch, and their music is catchy and cool, you may have seen their video clip for 'Here it goes again' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5zWaTEVkI), it is on treadmills lol.

The Fratellis; I havn't really seen any of their video clips, but I like the song 'For The Girl' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt2we84GKws) it puts me in a good mood.

The Beatles; Pretty much anything of theirs, I like 'Across the Universe' and 'Here Comes the Sun'. I got some sheet music in .pdf format from ebay, i am in Beatles heaven at the moment, lol.

Lilly Allen; like Mika said in the DVD, she is an escape from main stream cr@p

The Kooks; see Lilly Allen, I love 'Naive' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMO3iLq_kAU)

Regina Spektor; Her music is a bit unusual, but 'On The Radio' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSJQ1St1OnQ) is pretty easy to listen to.

The View; They have some cool songs, 'Wasted Little DJ'S' or something like that, 'You've Got the Face for a Radio',

Kate Miller Heidke; She is out of the ordinary, I reccomend 'Words' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcOqr7CQDuQ)and 'Make it Last'

Muse; They really do some awesome stuff with music, anything from the album 'Absolution' I like the song 'Sing for Absolution' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDVqndXhPHk)

Eskimo Joe; I am a tad over them, but other people might like them.

Holst's 'The Planets' suite; It is really good, and powerful.

Bach; Prelude from the suite for unnacompanied cello BWV 1007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l9Ait_I_N8); It is REALLY relaxing

Bob Sinclair; makes me want to get up and dance. 'Sound of Freedom' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yv0n2t9xs80)

Supertramp; 'Dreamer' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1auRCameVY) is cool. I don't know much about them, but i think they are from the 70's, and I'm not sure if 'Dreamer' is original or not

30 Seconds to Mars; I like the track 'The Kill (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF1wZQzpeKA)' it is in 3/4 so you can waltz (very fast!) to it hehe.

Kaiser Chiefs; they are cool, but the same as Eskimo Joe, I have sorta gone off of them

Malina (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNsCFqHGEqU&feature=related)

Also, while he's not a current artist, I'm currently slightly obsessed with Jobriath's music. :biggrin2: He released two albums back in the early 70's, which have only just been re-issued on CD in Japan (before that, you could only get a compilation CD, 'Lonely Planet Boy'), and they've got a spacey glam rock sound with a dash of musical theatre - fabulous stuff! Unfortunately, he's hardly known at all, so there's practically nothing of his on YouTube, but there's a very short documentary-type-video which plays two of his tracks, 'I'maman' and 'Inside' from his first album, if you're interested - here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEZteWQgW6A)

I'm a big fan of Kasabian and a lot of bands in the indie rock genre like: Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand etc.

Also suggest to listen to some 70's music like Pink Floyd, The who, T. rex and so on.

I have a few:
David Jordan, check out his myspace page www.myspace.com/davidjordan
He has Prince and Lennie Kravitz as influences and his new song Sun Goes Down is amazing, the video is brilliant too.
Duffy, Mika is a fan too, she has a fantastic voice, very routed in the 60s but so fresh.
One Night Only, a new group from York, their debut single You and Me is SO infectious.
And finally The Wombats they too do really infectious indie type music, whch is brilliant.
I figured you already know about Palladium from here, hence not mentioning them, but if you haven't listened to them yet, I strongly urge you to.

It's weird, but im going through a phase where i'm listening to all the oldies. 60s and 80s at the minute is what i'm loving.

But as for new artists, i think Adele has a real talent. A bit like the Winehouse, but i think her voice is more controlled. I saw her on gmtv yesterday, she sang live and was note perfect (and she wasnt miming either).
