Yupp I used to be a bit of a Eurovision geek :blush-anim-cl: I loved My Star of course :arf2: (I like the Latvian version better than the English though )...I was so disappointed when they didn't win :sneaky2: Which didn't make me very popular, as Denmark actually won that year and everyone around me was celebrating :doh:

They'll come to England again one day, to play a small venue...I'm there already :naughty:

Because I want to see Brainstorm of course. As far as I'm aware they haven't bothered to play in Denmark since 1999 and I only discovered them in 2000

I only discovered them 3 weeks ago :shocked: but it feels like 8 years :naughty:.
I remember them in Eurovision of course, but never bothered to follow up my interest back then.

Oh and I love Iissavienojums too...I can sing it in Latvian now :cool:

And I like Puse no Sirds. But yes his voice sounds a bit weird I agree.

Thanks, but I will admit I have had some help from a Brainstorm fan forum I have been reading, where there are lyrics and translations etc. I'm not THAT clever:boxed:

I'm a linguist though, I have studied languages at University, but even for me, Latvian seems a difficult language to learn. But, I find it a fascinating language, and I really love how it sounds.

Listening to music in a foreign language is a great way to learn! and Renars's voice...:wub2:..well that makes it very easy to listen to :naughty:

i didn't saw pirates even if they "represented" Latvia, i had seen them before and just needed to heard names of those "singers" and i didn't even want to hear them :naughty:
the girl is actually a professional dancer ans she sang first time in her live for Eirovision, boy is from Italy and he feels like he is very cool in Latvia (he isn't) so he chosen to represent Latvia (even if hes Italian)(logically? no)
and others arent singers too. SO . i thought it shouldn't be great performance, although nowdays in Eirovision i think the show is more important that the "talent".
i guess you understood my opinion.

I agree. the lyrics in English - though appropriate for an advert for Latvian tourism, maybe - are just a bit cheesy!

PV generally do a good job with their English lyrics but sometimes it is just better to hear the Latvian version even if I don't know what they are going on about :naughty:

At least Renars doesn't sing in an American accent...thank God for that!

Are you singing in the Festival? Or just watching?

It looks amazing...so many people, especially young people, all singing together. We have nothing like that in England. It must be an amazing thing to see and hear!

Wales has a tradition of choral singing...that's the nearest we get in Britain.

welll im watching but a LOT of my classmates sang there. its amazing...its a feeling that everybody is together its so beautiful.

Yes. I think there is something very good for the human soul, to sing together in a large group like that. I get that feeling when I go to church (not often :blush-anim-cl:), or am at a concert. I went to a really big outdoor concert last week and when everyone was singing along..40,000 people..it was almost a religious experience!! Very moving.
