MY FIRST MIKA CONCERT!!!!!!!!!
I won tickets to see him at Shepherds Bush and was the first time I met MFCers! These include:
Jemma and Tanya (blackwildkitty) in the queue
MeiMei inside the building
Sara and her cow husband (he was dressed as a cow, not an insult, I swear!) and spent the entire gig with them!
Briefly met Yoppappop, Kata and Babspanky outside waiting for Mika (who never came in time when I had to go home :tears:)

with the amount of times ive said i'm surprised some people still don't know :roftl:
Okay......*inhales deeply*
Mika had a MySpace dress up competition last year (but for some reason the blog has now been deleted!!) and all you had to do was take a pic of video yourself in a crazy outfit, doing something completely stupid. So, that's exactly what I did. :roftl:
I put it on youtube, placed it in Mika's blog, was viewed, and I won byotch's! :biggrin2: I won 2 free tickets to see Mika at Shepherds Bush on this very day. Unfortunately I was a couple rows back because there was some slight kerfuffle with the tickets (dont even get me started on his representative!!!) and I couldn't see a thing cos i'm so short. What you see in those short clips aren't what my view was like. I had to hold my camera up really high and watch him through my camera, cos all I could see was his curly head bouncing up and down lol, but the atmosphere was incredible!

Let's just hope that any organisation for any official type thing is better than the 'organisation' of that competition! It was a bit of a saga, to say the least. :mf_rosetinted:

a BIT of a saga? It had enough trauma, drama, ups and downs, twirls, set backs and disappointment after false hope and incredible surrealism to last through an entire series of Sex and the City :ap_rosetinted:

Actually, looking back, I don't know why we are so surprised about them faffing about with this official thing, look at how they handled that competion.....I remember people hanging around well into the night because they were told that winners would be notified at a particular time.......

YUP lmao!!! I was looking through that thread a few weeks ago and was wetting myself with laughter at all the panic and stress it contained. It really felt like I was back in that time again, gosh we went through so much!
They didn't even set a deadline when the competition opened, the dweebs. When they eventually set one (leaving a bulletin saying that the winners were going to be notified) it didn't quite happen the way they said it would. they then edited their blog, saying that "the winners in this city will be notified on this date..." ... I ended up receiving my message past midnight! They even said we'd have our picture taken, which we did, but not with the big guy (not sure if i was looking too deep into that one or not) and they said all pics would be placed on their blog. THAT didn't happen. in fact, ive never even seen that photo. god knows where it is now. probably deleted.
i met this woman at backstage who immediately recognised me, but i had a total brainfart and didn't ask who she was. i dont think she was a relative, though.
the "meeting mika" thing as you know was a complete disaster. fair enough mika wasnt well the night before and wasnt in perfect condition that night either, hence the "non meet and greet" but this representative said that if i send her an email containing mine and charlie's address, she'd send us something signed by mika. that didn't happen. i talked to her on myspace about it and said she "didn't PROMISE it", cow. :mf_rosetinted:

Caz, thanks for posting! I'd seen your video before, but not the concert vids and pics! Oh my gosh, he played "Sweet Dreams" and "I Want You Back"? And I didn't know he was already doing the "Love Today" drumming back in May of '07.
I wish I could say I'd already seen Mika in May of '07 but alas, I had to wait until January. :bleh: It'll be SO weird when I can say "I saw Mika a year ago..."
Oh, the memories we're making...*gets sappy* :blush-anim-cl:

Thank you!
What a story!
Okay, here's the thing: I'm asking questions all the time because I'm aware of that there are a lot of things I just don't get.
When you're not a native English there are things you miss because let's say I get about 90% of the conversations and it's okay, I would rather have it that way than using the dictionary all the time, it's so boring. And it doesn’t help me much either because people doesn’t talk like it’s written in there!
So when I get really interested in something I torture the poor girl (or boy) with my questions to be sure I get it 100% right.
Sorry, please bear with me!:wink2:
And I have to say that now it’s getting clearer why you haven’t had finally meet the Man although you are a really active member and even live in the same country as him!
Let's just hope that any organisation for any official type thing is better than the 'organisation' of that competition! It was a bit of a saga, to say the least. :mf_rosetinted:
....trying hard not to think about the organisation of the after party.... trying real hard not to think about the organisation of the after party....
Slowly getting a headache.....:naughty:

I really enjoyed watching this video again Caz - and I remember all
the hype back when it happened. I think that you did not get to meet
Mika was bad, but being told you would be sent something, then not
even getting THAT was terrible!! Just as well you don't hold a grudge,
or the scripts you write could be A LOT worse!!! :poke:
