Ok, this was supposed to be a kind of news but thought it might fit better in here. So, there's this "upcoming" Italian songwriter who's just released his first single, and he's a fan of Mika and he even mentions him in this song (named "QDM Qualcosa Dentro Me").

Dopo anni di gavetta e speranza, finalmente arriva il singolo d’esordio di Simone Quagliata, il cantautore ventiduenne di Cuneo. S’intitola 'Qdm (Qualcosa dentro me)', scritto e composto dallo stesso Simone. Gli arrangiamenti del brano sono stati realizzati da uno studio di Taranto, dall’arrangiatore Vito Astone il quale ha sostenuto da subito il progetto del giovane cantante. La copertina del singolo è stata invece realizzata dallo studio grafico di Cuneo del giovane Danilo Sanino che sin da subito ha deciso di sostenere e credere nel progetto del giovane cantante.

“Con le mie melodie e i miei testi in tasca - commenta Simone - uniti alla passione per la recitazione e a quella per la scrittura, mi sono incamminato da tempo alla ricerca di un produttore o una casa discografica che creda nel mio sogno. Ed ecco così il mio singolo d'esordio che s’intitola 'QdM (Qualcosa dentro me)'. Questo brano nasce come sorta di 'rivincita' verso quei produttori che mi hanno chiesto in passato delle somme spropositate di denaro per fare musica. Reduce dal successo dei concerti che si sono tenuti a Luglio in Via Roma a Cuneo al caffè Ruffino, Simone sarà ospite del comico Enrico Ocir il 27 settembre al Palatenda di Fossano e il 13 dicembre al Teatro Toselli di Cuneo. Nel mese di ottobre, inoltre, sarà possibile assistere a nuovi show in occasione della “Fiera del Marrone” in Via Roma presso il Bar Ruffino. Le date ufficiali saranno presto comunicate sul sito internet del cantante.

Questo brano nasce come sorta di “rivincita” verso quei produttori che mi hanno chiesto in passato delle somme spropositate di denaro per fare musica. Dedicato ad una persona che stimo ed ammiro: al grande Mika (citato nel testo della canzone), perché la sua musica e il suo magico mondo colorato, hanno saputo aiutarmi in tanti momenti difficili. Le mie canzoni racchiudono sonorità limpide e suggestive, come le persone che ho amato. Una musica aperta, come le storie che ho vissuto. Pensieri profondi, ma anche spensierati, come le avventure esistenziali di un ragazzo qualunque.

Well, I studied Italian for just a year when I was living in Spain, but I haven't practised it for almost 3 years....so I can say the basics, I can understand more than I can say, and I can understand quite a lot when I read it :thumb_yello:
Yeah, I've heard that it's much easier for Spanish speakers to understand Italian than it is for Italian speakers to understand Spanish!

You're asking me Mirtilla? :naughty: I really can't make out the last missing bit, but the rest of the red bits sound right to me!

I've only studied a little bit of Spanish, and forgotten nearly all of it :roftl: I had a few Spanish friends when I studied in Italy for a year, and I found that it was always easier to understand them speaking Spanish after a few drinks :naughty: They said too that they thought it'd be easier for them to understand Italian than for Italians to understand Spanish.

Yeah, I find that really interesting...it's a similar situation with Portuguese: it's easier for Portuguese speakers to understand Spanish than vice versa....I think it has something to do with how far the language has diverged from Latin...but that's just my opinion!
(sorry, waaay off topic, lol)

I do think he's TOO Mika, but I think his similairty with music that I like is what attracts me to him......I can't control what I like :bleh:

Yeah, exactly what I think!
It seems he's trying to be successfull using elements that made Mika what he is now...
His whole Myspace page, artwork, even the "sounds" thing in the page address is way too similar to Mika's. :thumbdown:

Yeah it's weird! I hope we haven't killed his dream of following his idol..... and I DO like his songs, but it was everything else that was bordering on plagiarism, IMO........
