New Moderators!

After really thinking long and hard -- and I mean REALLY thinking until
our brains hurt! :blink:-- we've decided to add guylainem123 and
robertina as MFC moderators... AT THIS TIME.

I stress "at this time" because we may need to add more moderators
in the near future.

With that in mind, we're going to keep the list of people who have
applied for future consideration -- there really were a lot of
strong candidates, and it was a VERY difficult decision. We realize
that many of you have the potential to be good moderators, so please
don't be too disappointed if you weren't selected now.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their name -- it really made us
excited to see how many of you love the forum so much. :thumb_yello:

And please join us in welcoming guylaine and robertina -- they are
going to need your support, as they really don't know what they've

I agree with you. In the sense of, when you look on the first page to see who's around, this big bunch of bolded names jumps out at you. The other day I was on and there were 10 people on. Exactly half were mods. It felt kinda freaky.

well, i personally think that there should be a better balance all over the world, because some places seems a bit dominated, if they were evenly spread out, then it would make a bit more sense to me. but then again, you've got to have people who are sensible, good with technology that you can trust, so it is pretty hard to get it perfect. our mod team is pretty good, anyway.

I think the mod balance is just perfect actually , and MFC wont stay the same for ever , I fully believe it will get very busy and we "may" as Deb stated need even more

If say 200 were online I dont "think" we would have enough

I would like to see this place blow up with some old peeps perhaps and not just newbies. A lot of the people I enjoyed seeing on MFC spent most of their time in the news section or more serious Mika discussions and since there hasn't been much to talk about in that regard they don't spend much time here at the moment.

I've heard some relative newcomers say lately that they are afraid of newbies showing up and disrupting the rhythm but I'm looking forward to things getting back to "normal". I do enjoy the socializing and getting to know quite a few people over this downtime, but I miss the excitement of things happening in Mika's career and discussing his work instead of his feet. :naughty:

North America. I think it only makes sense to have the majority of
the moderators from these areas.
