Ooooh I SO wish that I can go! But so far, I haven't won tickets, and I still need to figure a cheap solution to my existent flight to Spain which was set for the same evening :sneaky2:.

How's that for timing, Mika? And the day that he's doing Latitude I'm also away, so this guy really really really needs to give me his tour schedule before I make my travel plans in the future :roftl:.

Anyway, we shall see, but I hope that I will get to go there. It would be a shame, one free home gig and not being able to go!! And it would mark the anniversary of my first ever Mika gig at the itunes Festival 2007 :wub2:.

and I keep looking in my inbox as they told me too.....NOTHING! :crybaby:
all the details are in the terms and conditions.....which of course you read, before you ticked the box Ms Tia LOL

the UK only thingie is on the terms and conditions but as they send you the tickets on an e-ticket there is no way they would know if you where abroad so id still apply!

I entered and read COUNTRY asked my Niece to enter and she said it said COUNTY...I said Oh no hope they don't scrap my entry..sure it was COUNTRY.
Maybey it is because they had so many people from other countries entering? and someone had to sift through them all as the small print said only people who were UK residents could apply?
Not sure but DEFINITELY has changed but won't let you enter again :crybaby: so if they dismiss the first entries we have had it! :crybaby:

I am definitely still here in London then, and I need a tiiiiiiiiicket!

About the whole country/county thing, I can't say that I had noticed, but I guess that it was probably due to the fact that they must have noticed all these people applying from abroad and decided to change it? It makes no sense that they say in the terms that only UK residents may apply, and then they open it up to everyone else.

Not saying that it's right or wrong, don't shoot me :naughty:, just that this may be the way it has worked out.

I think that what Bab means is that there are a good few UK/London MFC'ers who have applied for tickets (and want to go to the gig) but have not RSVP'd here as they don't see the point because they haven't won tickets yet :wink2:.

There are a few "locals" that aren't on the list at the moment and that I know well have applied and REALLY want to go.

iTunes has always been done on a kind of lottery basis, I think so that real fans can get tickets, not sure what's happening this year with it!

To sum up :

- you can't win a ticket unless you are a UK resident  ... why, Lord, oh why didn't I agree to live in Hampstead with my partner :crybaby: !

- there is an auction organised on ebay :thumb_yello: -my boxers are already back in shape and so are Lillibet's lacy panties :wink2: ;

- Sara has decided not to be extravagant and not to auction for a ticket ; I'll believe it when I see it :roftl: ;

- for the price they are going to reach, I should hope the f...ing tickets will be first row :sneaky2: ! Or it will mean spending a fortune plus queuing up for hours in the heat and pollution of a London summer day, in which case better register in a SM club, they are not so expensive and they offer you more than just one night pain  .

and... it should be so easy to make us happy...
just 16 tickets, we are not asking too much :original:
paolonutini's fans are more exacting and intrusives... if they asked 100 tickets :biggrin2:

16? How so?

Cause we're 16 "maybes"

I think that what Bab means is that there are a good few UK/London MFC'ers who have applied for tickets (and want to go to the gig) but have not RSVP'd here as they don't see the point because they haven't won tickets yet :wink2:.

There are a few "locals" that aren't on the list at the moment and that I know well have applied and REALLY want to go.

of course :thumb_yello:
i know that there are for sure Mfcers who want to go and they are not in the maybe list...
but.. at moment.... if msounds try to be like paolonutini he can think that just 20 people are interested at this gig... :original:

so, maybe, it is better to have in the maybe list all people who live in UK and want/can go or international people who will be in London for holydays at the end of July :thumb_yello:

Yep, that's right. It's just a site where people do private transactions, they advertise whatever and it's just a transaction between you and someone else. So no "formal" security. Even Ebay has a bit more security to it.
On the other hand, you can find great bargains and deals. It all depends on whether the person selling is honourable or not (which you will never know until you deal with them). It's no more than an ad on the paper for ex. :wink2:

Makes sense... but unless I am very dumb -can you call a guy a blonde or is it frowned upon ?- there are a couple of discrepancies  :

Does it have a barcode?

I am actually having a hard time seeing how it's unfair. They are putting on this contest to promote sales in the UK. Obviously giving tickets to residents of other countries who can't purchase product from iTunes UK is rather pointless for their promotion.

They are nominal, and when you, Lill, turn up at the venue you'll have to prove that you actually are John Smith, the hairy sixfooter whose photo is on the copy you made of your ID before it was stolen  and that you picked up your delightful French accent :wub2: through having a scorching affair with a French hot little number :blush-anim-cl: ... if you can do that you should be an actor :roftl: .

facebook Itunes says they are giving away 150 PAIRS of tickets which=300 people.

I know that Capital Radio were doing a comp for tickets too..wish i found out too late and it was closed! ...so there will be more than the 300 but not that many more I don't think, as that comp was only for a few tickets..but hey what do I know!

The ICA itunes gig you had to wait to get in..not for long as they wouldn't let you...inside in reception tho, which was good as were seats..then take a copy of the email sent to you..they checked you off a list and then had to show ID..driving license, passport, credit card etc then can't remember if you got wristband or hand stamp or was it a laminate? but I remember thinking it was very secure and precise.
Can't say that this will be the same but for those thinking they can skip regulations etc. be careful incase they are as organised as last time and you are told you can't get in as that would be worse than not winning at all.

As for it being unfair....huh? how many gigs and comps happen all over the world. If it was happening in Japan would you still be complaining you couldn't go? come on you are adults FFS!

Everything MIKA does is unfair to someone...he can never win whatever decision he takes..he can't do EVERYTHING and satisfy everyone!

Plus Lillibet and Id3 You guys just had 2 gigs where the UK (LONDON..his Home town!) only had one...so don't be so despondent about the situation. You guys have had more than most of the rest of the world. (ok id3 you couldn't go but not MIKA's fault)

Yeah I WANNA GO MORE THAN ANYTHING! -but have to be realistic -it is a lottery in the end and nobody knows how many people are in it..they don't HAVE to be from the MFC!!!!!

I was so excited about my first Mika gig that I can't really remember much about that type of detail. I do remember going to reception at the ICA and showing my printout, and them giving me something (I think it was a wristband??).
Then on the way in some guy gave us the card/lanyard thingies.....And then I saw Mika right in front of me in that tiny room and I melted and totally lost the plot :mf_lustslow::wub2:

I am not despondent about the itunes gig operation, and am not blaming Sire for my failure to go to any of the acoustic tour concerts ; I was just trying to help Lill not find herself in the gutter press as the silly frog who pretended to be John Smith to get admittance to the venue.

In fact, this is the reason why I didn't take my hubby to the Sadler's Wells gig once I realised that I had gotten front row tix: I reckoned that, even though he went to a few Mika gigs with me back in 2007, he's not a big enough fan to justify a front row ticket, so I decided to take a proper fan instead.
So yes, I agree with what you said. If I am lucky enough to win tix, I will definitely take an mfc'er with me.

Now I just need the freaking tickets!!! No joy for me either *sigh* :sneaky2:

Brits barred from Jackson memorial
Last Updated: Friday, 03 July 2009, 17:09 GMT- Search: Jackson memorial plan

The clamour for tickets for Michael Jackson's public memorial has begun - but the singer's British fans will be left disappointed.
Only US residents with tickets secured through an online ballot will be allowed in to the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
Other fans of the King of Pop will be able to watch Tuesday's event from their homes as organisers announced it will be broadcast around the world.
The stadium's website temporarily crashed within moments of AEG Live president and chief executive Tim Leiweke announcing the opening of registration for the draw.

Well, they sometimes say that you can only print them once, but in reality once you have the document there's no way that I know of in which they can limit how many times you can print it off. I have seen it written in some tickets though, but I think that it's just a way of scaring people into not doing it.
Is it a pdf? or just a url that you go to and print it from there? or inside the body of the email?
In any case I doubt that they can stop you from making more than once copy.

If I was you I would take ID with you just in case they do check though. You never know :aah:.

Doesn't suck that much then, does it? :naughty: You can also have pindakaas, dropjes, spekulaas, yummy paprika chips and tons more nice things :wub2:.

Oh, and ride your bike everywhere to your heart's content :lmao:

Anyroad, as long as you don't tell your shrink about it, you should be able to stay outside and enjoy your free tickets when they arrive :wink2: ...

just applied for tickets, how would they know that i'm not a uk resident? i just had to name a county. my location is not in my facebook profile, and if they want an ID for picking up the tickets, i can say i'm in the uk for a few weeks/months - they didn't say you have to be a permanent resident. :naughty:
however, i just hope i can go. london. :wub2: and only 1 friday off work. my works' summer party is on that day, but i'm sure the better party is at the mika gig. :bleh:

Oh yesssssss! How could I forget the stroopwafels!!!! They're incredible!
They sell a similar thing here at Starbucks but the Dutch version is better.

Many years after we moved back to Spain from NL, when my dad went over on business he'd be forced to bring us tons of stroopwafels and paprika chips, so yes, one could say that I'm obsessed :naughty:. It was so lovely of the Dutchies to bring me those chips when they came to London for the gig just because I had mentioned it months earlier; I will never forget that :wub2:.

Well it looks like a wafer. Anyway I rarely have ice cream I don't care for it much. I don't know how people can eat it out of the tub in front of the tv, ugh.

Perhaps we could devise a scientific sliding scale of donut consumption?

Not had a donut for a week? Eat one donut.
Not had a donut for 2 weeks? Eat two donuts.
and so on.
Sara hadn't had any for five weeks and to remedy that had to eat five at once by law.

What is this thread about again?

What do you think we have for breakfast?
Currently I have nothing at home but a glass of water, sometimes a coffee and have a nut and seed bar at work when I get there with a cup of coffee.

Most people I know have yogurt, cereal or toast or something like that. Maybe people were just eating bigger breakfasts because they were out in a hotel or something? I would haha.

Even I? I mean, UK fans can win tickets to MJ's funeral now so it would only be fair if I can win some to see Mika. Unless Mika decides to go to the funeral and mourn until August and well then the gig would be cancelled.

I have the following for breakfast:

-large mug of tea with soya milk
-a sandwich made with wholewheat bread and an omelette inside, which when I make it doesn't look like a proper omelette but more like 2 "squashed" eggs :biggrin2:.
-some fruit

Usually, as I'm such a slow eater, this takes me forever to finish so I have the tea and fruit at home, and then the first half of the sandwich on the train on my way to work, and the other half sometime during the morning. I also have some more fruit around that time.

Then I have lunch around 1.30-2 pm :wink2:. There you go: far more info than you care for :roftl:
