They shouldn't be that expensive. The venue doesn't charge that much if I can recall correctly. The area isn't shiny and pretty like downtown, its just really urban and raw.

I think I'll be going alone, atleast for the waiting in line part because I'm just sick of always feeling like I drag people along. People just don't get it. :aah:

Well we were first in line outside the venue.....but they had some pass the line thing that we didn't know about that day. Evidently if you had ate something in the HOB restaurant before 2:00 that day then you got to wait inside. There were probably 40 people inside.....so that kinda sucked. I think we got there at 2.....of course.

Mika better do a meet and greet this time around. Haven't gotten to meet him yet.:blush-anim-cl:

Hey! Welcome to the MFC :) As far as I know, we know nothing about whether there will be a meet and greet. Usually it's after the concert though if he does have one. That's how I met him! If you line up early in the day like we all usually do, you definitely get to know the people around you who are often MFCers! I'm so excited. I hope I have just as much fun as I did last time I went to Chicago to see Mika.

Hi Chad! Welcome to the MFC. Last time we went to Chicago to see him, there was a big old blizzard coming our way and he left right after. So there was no meet and greet. Hopefully there will be one this time. Plus Mika doesn't have a show the day after.:wub2: Fans do get together a lot. At HOB we weren't surrounded by MFCers. We wish we were. Didn't get the free pass thing that was going on at the time so we didn't get to wait inside were a lot of the MFCers were. We remember at HOB that before hand a lot of people exchanged cell phone numbers so we could keep in touch as to where everyone was at that day.

Since we didn't get to wait inside. Lets just say it was Feb. and it was cold, and spitting snow and rain. We started wait at 2p.m. and doors didn't open till 6. IT WAS SO WORTH IT!:roftl:

WELL, considering I'm at college across the state from where my mom and best friend are (who are both coming with), they are going to drive 2.5 hours from home to my school in grand rapids, pick me up around 10AM when my class is over, then we'll drive another 2.5-3 hours to chicago. Hopefully my Mom won't be like "lets go to the hotel first" and I'll be able to be lined up by 1PM.

Yeah that was so COLD weather. Oh my! Our cousin and us stayed over in Chicago that night and went home the next day (also went to the art museum. We only had flats on!!! There was snow snow snow everywhere. It was so worth it though. Love Mika and Love Chicago.:wub2:

It said on my email after we ordered the tickets that our tickets would be mailed out till 3 weeks before the concert AND you have to sign for them. It says GA on the email. That is why we want to get there early to get a good seat but we want to stand and talk to you all too.

Yes! The two girls that made up the jacket were so thrilled that he wore it at the Blackpool gig. We are happy too. Our patch has been everywhere. I hope he wears it to Chicago.

Oh my gosh! We are getting so excited each day too. Yesterday our aunt was really freaked because we mentioned that we would go by ourselves and drive up to Chicago. They get freaked out all the time. So NOW our aunt, cousin (who took us last time and actually got to see Mika perform), and our Grandma (who has lived in IL her whole life and has been many many places......besides Chicago) are thinking about taking us. At first they asked if we were even going, and I said Um YEAH we already got the tickets. They were like YOU DID!! We said we got the tickets on MFC presale day (they kinda looked at us wowed, lol)

ANYWAYS.....to make a long story short (too late) we kinda thought that maybe we could drive the 4 hours Monday afternoon and stay in Chicago overnight so we could be at the venue at a decent time......of course no one want to see the most talented beauty of a singer.....:shocked:......their loss.

Would love to get the '09 yearbook. It seems like forever since we last saw him. We have never even gotten to meet him before so we are like shaking. We really want to meet him really bad. Don't know what I'm going to wear. I think we still have a couple of flashing hearts that work......I'm sure I'm going to have to wear a coat.

I guess I must be a bit more, I don't know.. you come up with it. But my daughter just turned 21, and has been going to concerts by herself for years and years. Since she was 18 at least and she doesn't have a twin! She goes all over in San Francisco to concerts. She's told me about the BART (train) station that she gets off at at sometimes and all the little wrappers around from crack and stuff.
Anyway, I hope it's not too cold in October, I did see the show is all ages so I don't know if they will tag our arms to mark who gets to drink and who doesn't or what and it starts at 7:30 I think.

We bought ours the day of the MFC presale started so we were some of the first people to get them. Then later that day Mikasounds did a presale.

We don't know if they're sold out, but our best bet would be to go ahead and get the tickets at ticketmaster or the Riviera's website. Like sarac said, maybe Mikasounds and his myspace only had a certain amount to sell.

We're anxious to be getting ours. We should be soon.

We MAY be going up on Monday afternoon/evening and staying all night. So we may be there at noon or 1.......depending on what our family has planned to do.....(we told them we're waiting in line!) So if all things go successfully we definately want to already be in Chicago the morning of the concert.....it would just put us more at ease.

Quite frankly I'm getting a little envious at the londoners that are getting to see Mika ALL the time recently. We've only seen the man once. I wish we could all be front row singing along all his songs word for word. We want him to love Chicago as much as London.

We've been to Chicago 2 times and our aunt, grandma and cousin (she went to the Mika gig last time and she said she'll go to Chicago but she doesn't want a ticket.:sneaky2:) said they would take us. Our grandma has never been to Chicago and she has lived in Illinois her whole life.:blink: So we all were thinking of going and while we do our Mika thing:naughty: they can show her Chicago. So we are all still up in the air about that. Would love to stay at the Raffelo (Don't know if I spelled that right). That was an awesome hotel we stayed at with our cousin when we last saw Mika.

We have never been around the venue part area. So we don't really know what to expect. All of Chicago we have seen has been downtown. We have also been to Northbrook aka "Shermer" from some John Hughes movies. Got to see some of the places he directed for "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "The Breakfast Club".:wub2:

Thanks. Actually our whole family went to Wisconsin Dells, WI this summer. Since we are cartoonists we always want to get our Characature done by someone.....and since the last one we had done was like when we were 15 we thought it was time to get another one done when we are 23.

We had rode the 'ducks' ride on the Wisconsin River and we had on our 'Everything's Just Ducky' shirts. I don't know if you can see it in the avatar but there is a duck on 'Megan's' head and it says 'Everything's Just Ducky'.

You've just gotta play the game and be sharp. Eye contact with the scary people actually goes a long way believe it or not. But I assure you, its not that bad.

And lets not forget that we can tweet Mika from the line and go "Ooh I'm so scared, maybe you should let us up there to your dressing room."

What's a mubbin? I contacted the lady already as I've been following them on twitter (I have a friend who is opening a cake/cupcake place and have tons of sites for cupcakes etc, bookmarked). I have a temp order in for 24 cupcakes. I thought carrot cake for one of them as he likes carrots? For decoration I thought glitter hi-tops, some with just MIKA written on them but please, please, make suggestions. That would be great to get them delivered to him with a from Chicago MFC'ers.. or something.. This is going to be so fun...:)

That's the same time i think i'll be getting there. I have class until 945 and then we're leaving at ten and i'm hoping it will only take us 3-3.5 hours so that takes us to 1-1:30ish! I've never driven to chicago from school though so i'm not sure. Mapquest says 3 hours and 9 minutes. I don't know but i'm EXCITED!!!!!!!

oh, and I was leaving I saw they have little girl cheap plastic silvery tiaras...with red flashing lights!
so this is a good time to look for accessories, people!!

Wow I am so excited. Less than a week until show time. My first MIKA show. I have been waiting forever for this moment. This has been quite the month for firsts. a) I ordered the cupcakes this a.m. 6 carrot, 6 apple spice, and 6 sprinkletini and requested white boxershorts, MIKA, and "love from Chicago" and I forget what else. If you look at their website, they are artists.

Wow this is going to be AWESOME!!! Yes we got yesterday half a dozen GOLD balloons so that would be awesome to attach those with the cupcakes and maybe wright something on them.

We'll definitely chip in something for the cupcakes!

Do you all have phones to access the internet and stuff in case of twitter updates and all that jazz? We don't have so we wont be able to contact you guys anytime...except in line and stuff. We're hoping to be driving the 3 hours to Chicago on Monday night to stay and then be at the venue the next day as soon as we can.

I can get twitter updates on my phone, I get alerts when Mika tweets and stuff, but usually when I try to send tweets it doesn't show up on twitter until hours later.

Ahhh, so much plans are changing. Our dad just called, so it looks like we'll be driving up early on Tuesday morning.....he said early enough so we can wait in line.....:roftl:

We want to leave early enough to be there at noon or so. Amanda we already promised you that we'd save you and your friend a spot by us if we get there early.....if you want the spots:naughty:we don't want you to be way back in the line.

My hopes are that not much people will be lining up as early as all of us.
