Not a very positive review, is it?
But then I'm sure Mika will be expecting some reviews to be like this, so not totally surprising.

Well it's 4* and it's been posted on Mika's blog, so I'm guessing it's good. :dunno:

"...just the boy and his piano. Skip"

If the boy never had that piano, he wouldn't be in the music biz for goodness sake.

But at least they are positive about some songs.

I really don't like when critics write so you don't get if they like or not something. It's coward in my opinion.
But I do agree that you can't open a magazine page or turn on the tv these days and not see some Mika wannabe.:aah:

Well, a little strange, anyway, IMO.

It only I have this? If to press on the link "Press"( in mikasounds) there is no place for comments... If you have not given the reference, I would not see, that comments there are written. This item is not present, at least it is not visible for me...
I cannot read through that text, it is not copied by a mousy). To tell the truth, I even am glad, that they not in delight.

It seems a very negative review

That's what I'm talking about. They give it 4 out of 5 stars and they say "we have a lot of love for this album" and then they proceed to rip it apart.:roftl:

I wouldn't say it's a negative review; it is just trying much too hard to be clever, and some of the compliments are rather back-handed. If it was negative, it wouldn't have been given 4 out of 5!

I am thinking that I am not very intelligent - because I don't understand this critque.
Why do all critics talk from their arses??
As part of the general public - I Love "The Boy Who Knew Too Much!"

It's a job requirement, generally speaking!

Well I hate to think what they say when they give 1 star!

BIOTG sounds weird!

pah they are just playing hard to get, I think the person who said it was cowardly to give mixed messages about it is spot on, they are afraid to like it too much in case the "in" crowd don't like it and afraid to NOT like it too much in case the same "in"crowd love it hahah.

Those are the songs and moments I love most of all!:wub2:

The boy and his piano! :blush-anim-cl: And preferably just playing with his voice, not necessary singing the words!:mf_lustslow:

I think whoever 'wrote' it (it doesn't even seem to have been written grammatically correctly, or read well) was hedging their bets. It's like those horoscopes where you can basically almost read what you like into them because they're so vague or ambiguous!

You should have shaved your chest, Mika, maybe you got the 5 starts by then...

I'm sorry. I know this is off topic, but I need to catch willywonka before she changes her sig again! That picture of mika with the red eyes needs a caption like "arming lasers". It popped into my head and I laughed so I had to share.

On topic, that review sucks. It's badly written. It doesn't give the reader any clue what the music is like or whether it's any good. It has no structure. There are no supporting statements or transitional statements. It's like reading what someone free-associated while listening to the album mashup on MySpace.

I'm more disappointed in the writing than I am in anything the author might have been trying to say about the album.

As you wish, ma'am!:biggrin2:
