I'm sorry I thought Club Soda in Montreal was on March 19th and the Toronto show at Mod Club was the 2nd Canadian show on the 22nd? :confused: (Although good pics/videos were put up from both shows)

I think the company said they didn't want Holy Johnny to be on youtube/dailymotion/others, cause it wasn't on the album... May be that's why you can't find anymore the first video of it you saw, and maybe they will ask Olive31 to remove this one as well...

But aside from that, he's begun performing new things slowly already... it's out there because of these videos, his people know that and they want to promote him. I think sometimes appearing to not be obviously involved in the promotion of something, brings in a wider audience then if it's force fed. They have more to gain from independent interest in Mika (youtube,etc.). I've babbled for too long, off topic, sorry.

I have no idea how the music businesss works so I trust what you say-plus it makes sense. I was only thinking that because there is so much money involved, people in charge would have a very good idea of the consumer mentality/psychology in mind in deciding how to make the most profit off of any artist...(subtle techniques) so not really wonderland, much more sinister/practical I thought:roftl:

I can't get the youtube videos to play either. I reckon they have definitely been blocked.
It's a liitle frustrating BUT I'm not too upset because in a way I'd like to discover his new stuff a bit later in the year so that the second album sounds fresh when it does eventually come out. I'm afraid of Mika burn-out/overload etc!!:naughty:

Hi Lucy, the song has only been heard in concert so far and will be released on his next album, he's said. Does anyone else think Holy Johnny fits in really well musically and conceptually with the new songs..? the country feel, the biographical content, the theme of self-discovery etc etc. I have renewed faith (no pun intended :naughty:) that it will be on the album.

I know the general consensus seems to have been that it isn't going to be on the second album, but to be honest I've never understood that. Mika has never, to my knowledge at least, expressly said it won't be on the second album.

I know he once said, at some concert or other (Spain?), 'this is a song that isn't on THE album but I just like to play it live' but I always took THE album to mean LICM.

I love HJ and would be disappointed not to hear a proper recorded version of it, preferably as part of the new album.

I know this has been discussed in recent days a bit in other threads but thought it was worth bumping the old thread.
