She has quite a voice, and has had a big role in the new tour so far. Sings a great duet with Mika for Missionary Man:

Not knowing anything else really about her, I will say this - she has one heck of a voice, and it seems to be a great match with Mika's!

She has done backing vocals for Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue and Scissor Sisters, so lots of people obviously think highly of her. I wonder whether she will be travelling with Mika like the rest of the band, all over the world. Coz Lorna didn't do that...which is why we had Mika's sister Zuleika Allegra singing on Happy Ending in Tokyo. That in itself was a real treat.

I welcome Sara's additon to the stage, as she has a lovely voice, and she also adds extra possibilities to Mika's performances. He no longer has to carry the full burden of the main songline, he can every now and then play with harmonies, adding frills and furbelows, and I do love Mika's voice when he has a chance to play!
I don't have the technical knowledge to descibe it precisely, but I like the effects.

Ok, I wanted to wait to see her live on stage before making my own opinion. I must confess I was a bit uncomfortable at first, hearing that there was a new singer in every song doing the chorus but...in Missionary Man she's totally great. She's very talented, nothing to say about that, great voice, warm and powerful.
In Missionary Man she's amazing, she has a good chemistry with Mika, and it's good to see it especially in a duet like that.

From the first You Tube video where I saw her I thought she was wonderful. What a great voice, what a perfect compliment musically to Mika, what a wonderful presence on stage. :wub2: To me it just proved how genius Mika is to know exactly who to bring in to make this new tour so perfect. I can't get enough of Saranayde. I love her head pieces...if only she would wear some fruit on her head like Carmen Miranda, then I would be in heaven!! If only there was some hope of me seeing the show in person. I would love to see the Dodgy Holiday Tour....but living in the Mika-free zone I rely solely on those of you willing to share your pics, vids and reports. Hopefully, sometime in the next twenty years I will finally make it to a Mika concert. :bleh:

Truly, I did, I love that look of that particular costume. :wub2: Plus fruit reminds me of the appleman thread (see below) and the love of "fruits" by the MFC. It just seemed such a perfect fit, like Mika and Saranayde are a perfect fit, musically (and I believe stylistically), as far as I am concerned. I were very decided the other day in Düsseldorf. I NEED TO TALK TO SARA! And i did
I didn´t feel surprised at all. She´s a fantastic girl, shy, and so tender. She told me she´s still scared about people´s reaction because she feels so insecure because she knows people usually thinks she was there taking a place is not for her..Actually, she looked so worried about that. And i said we were so happy to have her in our family and i told her too she´s so talented...she felt in some way relief...

A long time ago (relatively speaking) on another thread which no longer exists, I wrote that I thought she was related to Beverley Skeete, mother or sister, but I felt probably mother. Her mum is amazing!! She has sung with so many great people!! I noticed that Beverley is in Saranayde's top friends and Saranayde is in Beverley's top friends....so it wasn't hard to draw the connection.

Okay so before i had no idea who you were talking about - but i saw the EMAs t-other day and i saw said blue haired woman, i can see what you mean a little with the rather active performance, but whats so bad about that?
She is enjoying herself and making sure she is visible, okay she is more visible than the band but big deal, without the band the performance would fall aparat, maybe mica is a little ill or his voice isnt what it used to be due to the many concerns and needs a little support, or, maybe (since i feel like making up new rumours today) she might be mica's new girlfriend, after all, we havent seen mica with anyone all year and due to media interest in his sexuality why would he make his relationships open?

There's nothing rotten in the state of Denmark.
We are just not great photo takers as you may have seen from my thread (will post more when recovered).

We saw Sara however, and I think I can say that the apples officially approve.
We didn't like the Big Girl bum wiggle though, that was the only thing, otherwise she gave a top performance and added that extra something to the show.

We did tell her afterwards that we loved her performance, she seemed a little bemused by us, not sure why.

I must say after initial reports I was expecting a big brash pushy person to be on stage, but half the time you don't even notice her. She comes into her own just before (singing Superstylin' by Groove Armarda) and during Missionary Man, and she certainly compliments Mikas voice.
I met her after,in Munich, and she is really sweet, I think she is totally taken aback by all the love she is being shown by us.
I only shook her hand that time but next time it will be a big hug!

I suppose it came as a shock to us all. It certainly was to me, to see someone actually performing with Mika, as an equal. We know he doesn't really need anyone else. But having read this thread, or at least the start of it, about the new girl, I can see why Mika chose her... and his reasons are typical for Mika. He's not selfish, and has never had the attitude of... "I'm the star, everyone else just works for me". He's always treated his band as equals and because he chose his band himself, they are unique, unlike any other backing group.
It therefore, stands to reason, that when he sees someone with talent, like this young girl, he will showcase her talent. Once again proving that he isn't some male diva, but a beautiful man who beoieves in sharing his success.
So, God bless Mika, and a warm welcome, from me, to Saranayde!

hey! I knew a new friend on myspace,who contacted me because I have saranayde in my contacts... he wrote me he'd sung for mutya buena during the Italian Festivalbar this summer.... and Sara was in the choir!!! so...we had SARA in italy...and we didn't know!!!

I think that I'm (just a wee bit) obsessed with Saranayde's cover of 'Get Down' and her duet with Mika on 'Missionary Man'. Her voice is fantastic and she and Mika have a great dynamic. I would love to see it live. And you basically can't go wrong with the Eurythmics and Groove Armada anyway. :wub2:

Did I mention that I love her style? Satin/silk, shiny stockings, heels and pearls. It's belongs in the corporate world but for some reason she manages to pull it off onstage. She's gorgeous. :biggrin2:

Ive seen her 3 times now and I think she fits in really well, I love teh fact taht she just has just as much as the others on stage, she is part of the show and not just a small addition, I love the angel part at the start of the show she does too ( I do admit that most of my attention is on Mika but I think she has added to the atmosphere and gives it her all. :thumb_yello:

PS. after the Newcastle gig she was really sweet with everyone afterwards. (yep I think Mika knows what he's doing lol).
