| Is it possible to meet Mika after a gig? How? |
| Mika often makes himself available to speak with fans after his performances although it is never guaranteed that you will be able to meet him at any one particular gig. Circumstances vary depending on how he is feeling, venue security, other commitments he may have, and whether you are in the right place at the right time.
Normally the “right place” is at the artist’s entrance where he is likely to come out approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours after the show. Patience is the key so if you are determined to meet Mika you should plan to stay at the venue long after the show has ended. |
| Who is the woman who sings Happy Ending with Mika on tour? |
| It varies. In early 2007 it was Lorna Bridge, a friend of Mika's. Beginning with the Dodgy Holiday Tour in Autumn 2007 Mika performed Happy Ending with his backing singer, Saranayde. For his 2009 Songs for Sorrow acoustic tour, he was joined in Milan, London and Paris by his friend Ida Falk Winland who also does the vocals on the studio version of the track. Beginning in October 2009 he was joined by vocalist Erika Footman, AKA iMMA. |
| Who are Mika’s Big Girls? |
| Mika has had many Big Girls - some professional, some family and some even fans! The two main dancers performing with Mika on stage and appearing at promotional events in Europe in early performances were Ophelia Bitz and Ali Richards. They are also featured in the Big Girl video in blue corsets.
In the past, girls from the audience were asked before the show to don the Big Girl costumes and dance on stage in the US and other places where the professional dancers weren’t available, but Mika is not doing this any longer in his current stage shows. |
| Who are Mika's Lollipop Girls? |
| In the past, Mika often had friends, family, or hired dancers performing as Lollipop Girls. His friend Lorna Bridge served as a Lollipop Girl during shows in the first part of 2007.
For his 2008 North American Dodgy Holiday Tour, Mika's management posted a bulletin on MySpace asking for fans who were interested in being Lollipop Girls for certain dates in the US and Canada. A number of MFCers were chosen to be Lollipop Girls for these dates.
For the 2010 UK Imaginarium Tour, Mika asked fans who were interested in being Lollipop Girls or Big Girls in his shows to simply go to the artist's entrance the day of the show, a few hours before showtime. Again, many MFCers were chosen for these jobs.
Mika is no longer using Lollipop Girls in his stage shows. |
| What’s the deal with those flashing hearts? |
| Wearing flashing hearts at gigs has become an MFC tradition. It is a way for MFC members to recognize each other and identify themselves to Mika and the band. A special discount has been negotiated with The Glow Company for MFC members worldwide. Details on ordering the flashing hearts can be found here:

| How long do you have to queue to get a spot in the front row? |
| The length of time required to queue varies with the venue and the city. As Mika’s popularity has grown, queuing times to get into the front row have increased to as many as 6 or 7 (or even 10+!) hours before the doors open, especially in cities like London where a large number of MFC members attend the shows.
Check in the gig thread to get an idea of when MFC members plan to start queuing for the gig you will be attending. Check with the venue to find out what time the doors will open. In most cases you will need to arrive at least 2 hours before the doors open, and often a lot earlier than that! |
| If I see Mika after his show, can I touch his hair? |
| No! LOL!
Many Mika fans will tell you that he is friendly and prone to spontaneous hugs, but he finds it odd when strangers want to touch his hair. Wouldn't you? ;) |
| Who is that camera man following Mika? |
| Mika’s cameraman is called Andy, and has been spotted regularly at gigs ever since the Dodgy Holiday tour began in October 2007. Andy regularly interviews fans about their experiences at gigs, and films Mika and the audience during the concerts. We don’t know at this point what Mika plans to do with the footage. |
| How can I find out when and where Mika will be touring? |
| Mika’s Facebook page and his official website Mikasounds should list his confirmed upcoming dates, but for the latest information and discussions check the MFC Calendar.
There will be a separate thread for each date in the Concerts, Gigs, Tours and Performances forum. You can search for the thread in the forum or access it via a link in the calendar. Please note that while MFCers may hear about dates very early on, we can't consider dates as "confirmed" until they appear on Mika's Facebook page or on Mikasounds.com. |
