Hi, I don't know I have to place it here, but I have to make a speaking exersice for English. Calling my bluff or something .. But I'm not good in that kind of English , so can someone English speaking check my mistakes please?

It was my cousin's birthday party and me, my brother and my 2 cousins went walking outside. It was around 10 pm and it was becoming darker. My youngest cousin, Olivier, and my brother were a bit scared because we were in a little street without any streetlights, so they turned back home. Me and my oldest cousin, Bjorn, walked further for about 10 minutes, but then it became too cold and we also turned back. But when we were in that dark street again, we saw something strange. There was a message on the ground which said "I know how to find you, see you midnight". The first thing we thought was that my brother and Olivier wrote that message down on the street, but they hadn't a chalk. Then we thought that it were some children from the neighbourhood, but we hadn't heard anything, it was dark, and there were no children outside either. We didn't notices something at midnight, but so far we don't know what happened that day...

Oh, can you also say you think it's true or false ?

1. But they hadn't a chalk - If your trying to saying they had no chalk it would be 'But they didn't have any chalk'

2. were - 'was'

3. We didn't notices something at midnight - this would be 'we didn't notice anything at midnight' or if your trying to say you did notice something it would be: 'we did notice something at midnight, but so far we don't know what happened that day'

Also if you were saying 'we didn't notice anything at midnight' it would read :

'we didn't notice anything at midnight and so far we don't know what happened that day'
