The donations will certainly help to do that. Just a thought, but if Mika gets involved (or even if he doesn't) could we, as his fanclub donate to the cause, like we did after Paloma's accident, when we raised money for HEMS on some donations site? It would take my breath away, and that wouldn't be good for me. But I'd be happy to donate some money. Maybe, if someone wants to do it, or several members volunteer for it, the rest of us could just donate. It's just a thought. As someone else has suggested. Mika could nominate us. They are the sole reason to do it. The way I heard of the disease was through the movie, Lorenzo's Oil. A heartwrenching film about a couple faced with loosening their son to a horrendous, slow death. They ended up creating an oil that, I think, helps in some cases, but didn't turn out to be a cure. Because ALD is rare, it hasn't received the same publicity, or funding, as things like Cancer, but it's a very cruel disease. I hadn't known about the Ice Bucket challenge, until people started challenging Mika. But it is such a worthwhile cause. I couldn't do it because of my heart condition, with the shock of the icy water going on me. But it's great if you want to do it. I will certainly donate.
