My roomies are sleeping and im not that tired yet, so i'll try to knock together a semi-coherant report. I was at last night's concert also, but my report was a mess so some of these comments apply to last night as well.

Today i was further back, but almost directly in front of where Mika stood. The only way i couldve been more in front of him would be if i'd sat on my right arm rest. I thought perhaps being further back would help me to pay more attention to the other people on stage but no, i only had eyes for Mika. Maybe when i'm up in the loge tomorrow i'll try to pay them extra attention because i feel so guilty.

In a night of one amazing performance after another Happy Ending was once again the star. He voice is so powerful & the passion he puts into it always floors me. One reason it's always been one of my fave Mika songs is how it builds (you know with the "little bit of love"s going from kinda quiet until he's just belting it out) & with the orchestra and the backing singers and the choir it was even more so. The crowd seemed to agree since once again he got a standing ovation.

Closely following HE on my "songs i could listen to forever" list is Overrated, whether its the demo, the acoustic version, the album version, or now this symphonic version his voice & the lyrics get to me every time. It was such an unexpected treat to hear it.

I really reaaaaally like Good Guys, im starting to have ideas what its about & cant wait to hear it again. The other two new songs i liked very much but they didn't stick in my head as much as Good Guys (which whas been running in my head for hours so no wonder its 3:13 am and i'm still awake). With a couple more listens i'm sure the other two will catch up.

Usually Relax is highlight for me, especially when he opens gigs with it because BAM ENERGY, but suprisingly i wasnt so impressed this night or last. I feel awful saying it but i kinda forgot he did it, not because it was bad but because the others were SO DAMN GOOD. I only remembered it when other people mentioned they loved the performance of it, so perhaps its just me. Perhaps its that ooooooAH AAAAAAAAH I miss. I felt similar things about Rain too, like other songs overshadowed it.

Any Other World was made for this kind of situation i think. Mika & the symphony made a beautifully sad song even more beautifully sad. I'd never personally witnessed it live, so it was an epic moment for me.

Boum Boum Boum, Elle Me Dit (which ofc got a huge crowd response just a few seconds in), Grace Kelly, and Love Today were lots of fun.

Karen i love & i'm so glad i came to these gigs because it's unlikely he'd ever perform it in the states.

Heroes was another highlight. I vaguely recall him playing it live in 2013 when i saw him? Or maybe that was a video from a gig i wasn't at? Ah well, it obviously didnt impress me enough then that it stuck with me (even though i love the album version) but this time it was pure magic i won't ever forget it, it was so touching.

Underwater, Origin Of Love, and Love You When I'm Drunk were also amazing of course but i've had the priviledge to see them performed in person before so i dunno what to say about them. Make You Happy made me very happy.

And ofc Over My Shoulder, i could never forget to mention you. I'm sorry i ever said anything bad about you & i promise not to skip you anymore, if only just so you'll remind me of this stunning vocal performance.

So in summation, some performances of my usual favorites blew past my expections, others not so much, and some were magical revelations. Mika, keeping me on my toes just how i like it :D

I sat next to a nice local lady who asked me during the intermission if i was a big fan, i wonder if it was my mouthing along to the words, my eager leaning forward in my seat, or my WOOOOOOOO *clap clap clap clap clap clap* after every song that gave me away. Turns out her favorite song is HE also & she was hoping he'd play it last & i agree *hint hint*

A few more random thoughts:

-Ida's dress was lovely, made her look about 7 feet tall.

-Max was so cute, i love his voice.

-Skyler Stonestreet was the third backing singer was back for some songs, i must google her

-his jacket had his name on the front, which ofc i found hilariously cute

-i think the crowd wouldve been there standing and applauding for another hour if the musicians hadn't stood up & started to pack away their instruments

-The conductor kept looking at Mika between songs and smiling and stuff, they seem to really mesh well. The way Simon stopped the crowd from clapping was much appreciated, even though i usually i enjoy clapping along but at a gig like this its a distraction so thank you Simon!

Once again, I understood about 3% of what he said (despite my cramming in about 3-5 french lessons a day for 4 months) so any translation would be so much appreciated!

The suit was great... I just LOVE the jacket! :mikalove: I wrote a little bit in the other (meet up) thread when I first got back but this was indeed another great concert. He was much more relaxed and playfull.

These will be very special memories for a very, very long time.

Thank you Kath!

I'm quoting your post here :thumb_yello:

It's 11.20 on the night of a Mika gig and I am in bed... I think that's a first!

No gig thread open yet I don't think but it doesn't matter as it isn't a report really. Just wanted to say I had a great night. Thanks again to everyone for all the hard work re the party - including the hardworking staff. it was great fun. :thumb_yello: the cake was amazing.

The gig was great. Mika was much more relaxed. I found I could enjoy it even more when I knew what to expect. It really is a tremendous concert ... I would like to watch it forever. I am beginning to love all of the new songs as they become more familiar.

We didn't wait afterwards... It was/is snowing to high heaven and there was every chance that Mika would be staying in the building a long time as there were a lot of his family in.

:naughty:

i was further back for this show also... which was ok, it made me see better the whole orchestra etc... and seriously it wasnt that far back

I loved this show even more! im not sure why... maybe because he was more relaxed? maybe because i was more excited cause i knew what was coming? who knows, i thought it was better.

just like yesterday, his voice was spot on.. and even i think during Grace Kelly i went WOW!!! he hit some notes he hadnt in years in live shows cause of his running around:naughty:

Everything was perfect!

Again Happy Ending blew us away, Over my shoulder got a standing ovation this time, and a long one!!! he looked very touched :wub2:

Boom boom and EMD still big hits here!

Random moments (cause theyre the best)

-mika didnt say at all the same things as yesterday, which i thought was great haha

-he forgot to present Skyler (the back up vocal and cowriter of Good Guys) at the beggining.. at the end of the song he went:its fun, ghost singers come on stage like that and just leave? isnt it great? haha! no that was skyler

And he introduced her .. and then he said:" cause im stupid like that... and now i wont be stupid.. cause i know what were doing.. MAke you happy" haha cute

-he said he didnt wanna speak alot cause the musicians were waiting for him and if he started to talk it would be like the Niagara Falls :lmfao:

-at one point he looked at the conductor like "ok thats the beat one two one two.. Conductor was like.. yeah i know.. mika laughed and went oh right and tried to hide  hahahhaha

he was much more at ease with the orchestra :teehee:

Overall it was as amazing as yesterday! Good Guys is seriously an amazing song and just sticks with you.. and this time i listened to the lyrics more to Ordinary man.. and im starting to love it alot!!! I cant wait for the record honestly :) (he said its not finished yet but ALMOST(with his im sorry smile)):mf_rosetinted:

ok, pics coming !!!

Wow wow wow!!!! I am still on cloud nine. :wub2:

I'm not much of a talker, but this concert, as some other MFC fans might have noticed...left me speechless.

I am honestly so overwhelmed by how great it was that it's difficult to put it into words. It was absolutely beautiful and flawless! Every song better than the last one. Mika's voice so beautifully brought to light with the whole orchestra. It really is an amazing experience to be in the room and listen to all these beautiful instruments so wonderfully played. I feel so extremely lucky to have been there!

Even though it's the Symphonic Orchestra, you can tell that the audience was so into the music that it was difficult to avoid clapping to the rhythm for some songs. We got scolded by the orchestra director three times!:aah: Mika fans can't help themselves. :teehee: There was standing ovation, after standing ovation and never ending clapping at the end. We didn't want it to end, it felt so short.

I don't know what else to say, anything I think of falls short of how I felt. The songs are still playing though my head and I haven't fully processed it all...

I was really late for the MFC get together, but it was still so nice to see so many wonderful Mika fans together, excited about this event and ooooooh that cake! I wish I could have talked to everyone before and after the show. I hope those who are going tonight have an even more wonderful time. Enjoy!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you so so much guylainem123 and MFC for thinking of me so that I could assist this wonderful concert! I am so thankful and happy I got to experience it! :wub2: It really is such an amazing thing I didn't think would happen for me.

I really wanted to post a report but I was soooooooooooooo exhausted since the night between tuesday and wednesday I barely slept at all, had to go to work, and I had to get up early this morning to get my girls to daycare and go to work.... So yeah I collapsed in my bed and I'm kinda glad I did because even though it made for a short night, I slept so much better and I feel great today, so much better than yesterday!!!! All I can say for now is that the gig was AMAZING, OUT OF THIS WORLD, even better than tuesday (which I didn't think was possible!!). I'm going to try and write something during lunch today, but now it's back to work for me!

I can't wait for tonight, I so not regret buying tickets for all three concerts!!!
