In Korea, ppl can just buy max 4 tickets per person...
but some ppl buy front number tix to just sell them to hardcore fans and that's always a serious problem for us....

With Cliffs tickets, the fan club gets first dibs on tickets, so they get the good spots.

In Korea 2010, there was a presale for Fans and first 1-50 numbered tix were released 1 hour before the general sale. Because of that Mikasounds homepage had been down for days and the 50 tix were sold out in 20 seconds and less than half of mfcer had survived That's the reason we call it as 'ticket war'

I guess whichever way it's done, the cons seem to outweigh the pros

Sounds quite stressful too
So many things can happen. Once the security didn't let me in, because my ticket was "not valid" (but it was fine in the end). In Compiegne the system didn't work. I was number 150 (or something like that, I arrived late) and at least a thousand people or more were let in before me.
Awww. I wish we could buy some tickets, miss his gigs

There is no system that will satisfy everyone. However, I also agree queueing at ridiculous hours, or getting a number and then scoot off for the rest of the day, is also not fun and quite rude.

Ok....will let you know the details....
The tix release on 12 am, 4th August.
August 1, 2011
Tix date announced. feels happy and getting nervous.
August 2-3
Had some nightmare. for fear about getting bad number tix or getting no tickets after all.. (it really happend to some when Mika's very first gig in Seoul)
August 4
got up early. clean up the computer and optimize it as much as possible. Knowing that our fate is determined in just 30 SECONDS after the exact time, pray to every single God I Know..
30 minutes before the TIME, shut down EVERY single program that can affect the tix system.
10 minutes before the TIME, turn on the cellphone clock. Extreamly nervous but try to calm down my crazy jumping heart.
10 seconds before the TIME, Get Countdown.
When the time comes, access the website and try to find the vacant number. We can find No1, No2 available but it's too risky to select that. If one got it already, we gotta back to the first step and if so we gotta have 100+ number. if fail to get 100+number, choose among 300+ number , if fail that.. +500, +1000, +2000........
and like that 2000 floor tix are sold out in 2-3 minutes. The tix number depends on your computer and your luck. If you chose the right number that no one else selected on your first or second chance, you survived. If not, you're a looser.
After that, we have official consolation race for few days. Because some ppl doesn't deposit money on time and some tix can be cancelled. And the race starts on 2 am or 5 am (not pm, am ) night. Loosers gotta stay up night watching the monitor to get final chance to get reasonable number. If failed on this, gotta stay up EVERY NIGHT to get the canceled tix
on unofficial consolation race and it lasts about 2 weeks.
If still have back number after that long tix race, gotta buy good one on black market, taking risks on buying fake tix.....
If not succeeded in just first 30 seconds, just one chance I mean, We gotta get into the tix war for 2 weeks. staying up EVERY NIGHT. It really happend to us in 2009 and 2010. Whenever do like that I think it's better to camping in front of the venue 3 days before the concert date....
Oh and you gotta give up to get in the venue with your friend , because it's almost impossible to buy multiple tix in a row. so If you have any children or baby to care, better to give up front 500 under numbers...

Well, we better not to joke about camping for 3 days because it's NOT necessary for Mika concerts I'm not going to spend my nights queueing and I have seen people doing it only a couple of times, like in Helsinki a few teenage girls started to queue night before because they were so excited and probably thought it's fun
Yuna, your ticket buying sounds really stressful Did all the hardcore fans get their tickets in the end last time?

OMG that's insane!
To be honest, I'm looking forward to him starting to tour again because I've never seen him live, but at the same time I'm dreading it. The whole getting a ticket and queueing process is extremely stressful and tiring for me since I tend to get nervous/anxious in big crowds, especially during gigs since everyone's so passionate about getting to the front row. People go into this "dog eat dog world" kind of mode and I'm not like that. Then again Mika isn't that big in Finland, so it might be a bit calmer. It all depends so much on how well TOOL does here.

really? well when internet is not available like this, few years ago...camping is quite a common thing that can happen before the concert.... here...
after that most of my fellow mfcers managed to get under 100 tix during 2 weeks tix war .... quite lucky...

Don't worry, last time (2010) ticket buying was not a problem, most concerts were not sold out (maybe eventually, but not right away). People queue early morning only in some countries (like in France) because Mika is so popular there. Most times queueing is very relaxed and it's just fun to chat with people before the gig. About Finland, did you read my last post...?

I only saw it after I had posted already (I took my sweet time of typing as usual). I could never do that though, for me even a few hours of queueing is too much, I'm so impatient! But as you said, they probably did it for the lulz so I'm not too worried about having to set a camp days before the gig. Especially when you take into consideration the fact that I'm a poor university student who has no money to travel across Europe, so if Mika isn't coming to Finland it's highly unlikely I'll get to see him.

For hardcore fans like us, I think queing is fair. It's also quite stressful to see ppl who don't know any of mika song and got the very front number because of her crazy LUCK.
