Overrated (new version) Discussion

Lets discuss this incredible new version of Overrated here! Produced by Swedish producer Klas Åhlund (Teddybears Stlm) who produced Robyn's Body Talk albums and you can hear the similarities between some of Robyn's songs and Overrated.
I know that a lot of fans prefer the older version of Overrated but to me that's a completely different song (and absolutely beautiful). In my opinion, this one is equally beautiful and then some, in a very different way. Yes, it's a dance/club song with incredibly gorgeous sounding synths, but the lyrics are quite heartbreakingly beautiful as well. That combination sends shivers down my spine, especially when he's singing about wanting his lover to take his life and end his pain. Reminds me of Lana Del Rey's Born To Die (as I've mentioned before) and that's extremely sad but at the same time really beautiful.
Anyway, I could go on forever Love it!
These lyrics are mindblowing! As well as the breathtakingly powerful music. I'm in love!

I really loved the demo and I was really touched by it..
Then this version came.. I listened to the acoustic version first but then I thought, why not, lets hear it.. I really had to get used to that upbeat.. But I love it! It's not too much, I think the song really needed it..

btw, the new version from Overrated is lower than the demo

oh and I miss the higher part (in like the third line from the chorus.. the third time overraaaated)

edit; oh and btw, when I first heard that upbeat version (the preview on itunes) I was really annoyed by those weird sounds in the beginning xD I don't know if you can understand what I mean.. But those funny drop sounds..

I think I know what you mean; You mean those synthesizer drumlike sounds, right? Really popular in a lot of club hits

yes i think that's what he says too..

I really love what i've heard of this song so far and yes i've heard the demo but never really got attached to it. In any case this is a different song (at least how i look at it) and more suited to my taste.

The itunes preview had me a little with the ultavox sounding beginning before it goes into the typical club beat we're used to on more recent mainstream club songs...can't wait to hear the entire thing!!

That club song beat.. its not really something for me.. But I think I should just get used to it hahaha! I still love the chorus and the high part after that.. that 'crime of passion' part..

I think this could be really good live as you get get the urge to scream along with the chorus and it would probably be awesome at 3 am at the club when you've had a few drinks too many... think I might skip it when listening to the album at home though
