  1. Hi there Just a quick review about the gig in Geneva yesterday evening. Can't be too long as I'm writting from my phone and have to leave in a few minutes to visit lausanne with some friends staying here for a few days ^^ We went to the venue around 5pm. There wasn't many people waiting and we found a food spot in the right side of the stage, somewhere near the 10th pr 11th row. Out spot was great! Not too crowded with a perfect view on the stage and we had loooot's of fun during the gig. The opening act was fine, a swiss group called Jetlakes. It was their very first gig in front of such a big audience and they we're very excited about that which was very nice to see. The audience was fine and sang and danced a lot. The setlist was the usual one, no surprise about it. During staring at the sun, Mika went to the seated area and sang the whole song there. It was great to see and the energy during the song was great. Mika talked a lot and explained how he met à strange woman in the Jura (moutains between France and switzerland) the day before the gig, he was pretty funny. He also explained that someone bought a private piano lesson with him during the french telethon a few years ago and That he completely failed to have it done. Ad the boy was in the audience in Geneva, he went on stage on love today and played the piano (actually just one note) during the song. It was great and everyone was clapping and screaming at the end of the song. It probably wasn't what the boy (or his parents...) was really expecting after having spent so much money for a private lesson but it was a good moment of the gig. At one point he told people he would wear whatever people were throwing him on stage and quickly regretted it as he ended up with a t-shirt, a scarf, shoes and some other ugly things (but luckily no underwear!) I've had a very good time for this "special" gig for me as it was his first show near my place apart from festivals and i'm really thankfull he came in Geneva I
  2. Looks like I'll have my "home gig" in the end A friend of mine won tickets and offered me to go with her! a private gig, 10 min away from home, with a good friend of mine...this sounds VERY good for the ones coming too, I'll be on the balcony looks like the place is big enough to have a balcony This is insane! can't wait to be there!
  3. Hey!! That's wonderful news!! You'll have an amazing time there for sure
  4. I have two seated tickets available if anyone is interested
  5. That would be great to have a little special project for this show as it's the first time he's doing a show in the french part of Switzerland (apart from festivals of course). Maybe we could bring cow bells or Moo Boxes to be sure he'll remember his show in Switzerland More seriously, I'll think about it and let you know any idea I may have
  6. There's a new contest in April to win tickets there you go: http://www.clubsc.ch/fr/concours I't's still only opened to resident of Switzerland though GOOD LUCK everyone
  7. Thanks for your help Karin and Mari I'll try to make my way in anyway so I'll have a look at any other contest that may appear around here
  8. I saw Amandine ( the swiss girl Mika wanted so much in his team who finally chose Florent Pagny) singing at a local concert yesterday. She has an amazing voice. I admit she's my absolut favortie now xD Hope she'll make her way through the battles to access the lives!
  9. I feel quite confused about this as I just learned the news... On the one hand i feel pretty proud because it's the very first time he's coming in Lausanne. I know it's stupid but knowing he's coming "home" makes me happy. On the other hand I'm kind of mad because he's coming for a stupid private thing... so in the end I feel smthg like that all at the same time haha: I really hope so
  10. Hi there I have 2 spare seated tickets for Strasbourg on saturday May 28 If anyone is interested please pm me
  11. Looks like my PM box was full, sorry about that And sorry for my veryyyy late answer. I've had a hard end of year and beginning of new year at work so I haven't been able to come here for a while... Things are better now I't not a problem to go by train at the arena. You can take a train from Lyon to Geneva and then there another train doing the connection from Geneva's train station to the airport The arena is 5min. walk from the station and it's pretty easy to find. And yes, of course there are some hotels near the airport. I don't really now them as I never had to visit any of them myself but they should be fine.
  12. OMG I have no words to explain how excited I am about this date!! I've been secretly waiting for a gig to happen at the Arena for years! I mean... I perfectly know how lucky we've been in Switzerland because we saw the man maaaaaany times at festivals and gigs already. But the Arena means so much to me! Tbh the place is not very impressive, beautiful or anything like that, it's very similar to a Zenith in France, but my younger me gig experiences are almost all related to the Arena in Geneva, so I've always been thinking that seeing Mika in such a familiar place would be amazing. And now it's really happening!! Yeepeeee!! more seriously: if anyone needs details about the place and how to get there by train, boat, plane or whatever please feel free to PM me (that was one of the most useless post I've ever made, sorry about that, but it's also one of the most enthusiastic )
  13. I can not make a proper report as I've actually not attended the gig but I've been lucky enough to see a good part of it from outside because the television guys let a few of us watch it on the screens in their truck Of course it was not the best conditions because every now and then people speaking so loud came by screaming "que bellooooooo!!!" as soon as they saw mika on the screens but luckily they did not stay very long and I could still hear a good part of the songs. I could actually see 5 mika at the same time thanks to the screens Unfortunately, right after the beginning of the 2nd part, people from the staff of the theatre saw that some teenage girls were taking pictures and filming the screens so they asked us to leave but I'm still very happy that I could see a good part of the concert. I can only agree with Allegra that those acoustic concerts are an open door to Music with a giant "M". As much as the "normal" gigs usually give a very clear view of the performer Mika is, listening to him with a symphonic orchestra just throws his talent into your face. Therefore I'm very happy that he did it one more time so that more people could get the chance to listen to this and I really hope he'll do other concerts like this one in different part of the world just to give more people an opportunity to experience in such a pure form how talented he is. I cannot compare the gigs in Montreal with this one as the conditions were quite different for me and i must say I don't really care about which was better or not. The only important thing to me is that those concerts are pure magic. I've been really happy to see many MFCers before and after the concert and I've enjoyed my trip to Como a lot. It was just perfect
  14. Oh that's very sweet thank you That would definitely help me to forget my bad experience in Nancy but I'm not really counting on it and won't be begging for tix around the Theater anyway I consider myself lucky enough to have experienced 3 amazing gigs in Montreal so this time I'll just enjoy a nice week-end away from home with my parents and be happy to meet some MFCers on my way
  15. I beleive there are some busses going to chiasso but I don't know when they stop at night. Anyway, my car and I will be in Como, even though I didn't manage to find a ticket, so if taxi really is too expensive i can give you a ride to Chiasso if you want
  16. Hi There Finally back from my tumultuous trip to Nancy! so after a few hours of rest, here is my little report As it was still uncertain that the gig would actually happen when I left home in the morning, I must admit that I was very pleased and released to hear that Mika was feeling better enough to do the gig when we arrived in Nancy a few hours later. The start of the day was just perfect! I've spent an amazing afternoon with some of my oldest and dearest mikafriends visiting Nancy and we had an amazing time! As we were all in different part of the world during the past few years, it was our first gig all together since 2010 so it was absolutely a very special one for me. We went to the venue a few minutes before the door opening and found ourselves what we thought was a good spot at the very back of the standing area. As the place was quite small, we were not that far from the stage, right in the middle. Let's be honest, the poor guy who replaced the citizens yesterday was an absolute nightmare to me ( I believe his name was Eddy smthg, I don’t remember it…). I'm usually quite open-minded when it comes to discovering new artists but I have to admit that he was NOT my cut of tea at all... singing french songs with totally stupids lyrics and trying to put effects on his voice that made him more sound like a suffering goat than anything else... anyway, I was happy when it came to an end and a bit disappointed not to hear what the Citizens sound like as I’ve already heard many good things about them. I was so excited when Mika finally came on stage. As Nancy was my only date of the Heaven tour, I really wanted to have the surprise to discover the show only once I’ll be there. Therefore I've spent the last few weeks trying to avoid vids or pics from other gigs. And it worked pretty well. The set is really amazing and I’m very impressed by the work it should have been to create everything. It really makes you travel into Mika’s world and I liked it a lot. The beginning of the gig was amazing!! of course we could clearly hear his voice was still a bit weak on a few songs, and Mika spoke a lot about his doctor and the shows he had to cancel, but globally I'm very impressed by the performance he gave us regarding his illness, the cancelled shows, etc... I was over the moon when he sang Good Wife because that’s one of my favorite track on the album and I was so much expecting to hear it live. I think I love it even more now that I did The audience was great and quite responsive. My only negative comment is that there were really too many French songs according to my taste but I wasn’t expecting anything else when going to a gig in France, that’s just normal. Still, I’ll never get the point to translate, badly, songs that already exists in English like Staring at the sun, grace kelly or, even worse, Lollipop… without speaking of l’Amour fait ce qu’il veut… anyway that is just my personal taste and I think I’ll simply avoid gigs in France as much as I can in the future to solve that ^^ At one point a girl screamed something to Mika and he started joking about her voice sounding like Miss Piggy’s one, that was hilarious and he kept talking to her a few times after that which was quite funny. The only real problem during the gig was that the temperature was SO high in the venue. I really don’t think there were any air conditioning on during the whole gig… with so many people inside, the lights, etc, the place quickly became to be like Hell for real. The major result of that was that people, instead of getting as close to the stage as possible as they usually do, started to get a few steps backwards little by little in order to have a little space to breath in front of them. As we were at the very back, we ended up being pushed against the walls with no way to move anywhere else as people kept pushing towards the back of the venue. That wasn’t much of a problem for me except that my vision of the stage got quite smaller as I had to deal with a friend of mine standing like 40 cm right in front of me with no way to move on one side or another. She couldn’t do anything about that and I personally didn’t bother that much and found a way to see what I could. But when Mika started to sing Elle me dit, I started to feel quite uncomfortable about the situation and I suddenly felt very bad…I felt very tired, then the entire venue was turning around my eyes and I couldn’t hear anything except strange noises. Luckily a friend who was next to me saw that just in time to grab my arm and help me finding a way to the next exit and then completely out of the venue. She got me something to drink and I started feeling better after I could sit down and take some wide breathing of fresh air. But I could barely stand on my feet and it took me a long time to completely feel well. After that, my friend and I were not exactly enthusiastic with the idea of getting back into this giant hoven so we heard the last part of the show from outside. we missed many songs, especially Happy ending and it’s a capella ending but we still enjoyed hearing what we could from outside (a security guy also found it pretty funny to see both of us sitting outside singing out loud every song ). And then the gig was over. I think this might have been the worst gig experience I’ve had so far and I’m quite sad and disappointed my only chance to experience the Heaven tour ended up like that but I’m still very happy to have seen part of it Mika came out of the venue after a while and got out of the car to sign some stuff. I wasn’t really expecting him to come out as he was still a bit ill, so I was kind of surprised to see it happening. But there were many people pushing him towards the car and in the end he got back inside quite quickly. I have to admit it really makes me feel uncomfortable to see him in such conditions (yes I know it’s part of his job and he is kind of used to that but I’ll never be I guess and I really dislike having to see this…I’ll simply stop waiting for him after a gig as it’s becoming smthg quite common over here to have people screaming at him and harassing him when he comes out). The only “funny” part was that when the driver finally managed to find a way to get through the people, he only went a few meters away then got quite confused about where to go next and turned on the place to come back to it’s first point so that we saw some people scream and run after the car in circle which was pretty funny. When he finally went away 4 or 5 cars full of stupid people followed him closely…. I don’t know how the driver got rid of them but I hope he did quickly because their behavior was pretty dangerous…
  17. on the theatre's website yesterday it was written only a few tickets would be sold directly at the venue... maybe they changed their minds when they saw the amount of people waiting there this morning
  18. Salut Lucie et Bienvenue sur le MFC Super que tu aies pu aller au concert de Zurich et que tu y aies visiblement passé un très bon moment Si tu as des questions concernant le MFC ou autre chose n'hésite pas à me contacter
  19. Finally found time to download some of my vids. It's not a huge quality and we hear a lot people talking around me as I was at the back, anyway here they are: https://youtu.be/4733Hqg6Gus https://youtu.be/PzUmZtD5nPQ https://youtu.be/PFGGednCR94
  20. Actually this is not true at all... Take last time Mika came at Paleo festival for instance (2011, I think), people started queuing since the morning even though it already made no sense at all at that time as "local people" will never do that. Back at that time there were people coming from everywhere already, mostly Italy, Germany and France as Switzerland is very close to those countries, but the only thing those people had in common was that they were all "active" mikafans (I mean people taking part on forums, etc...). It had nothing to do with where they came from... What happened this year at Caribana or Estivale is exactly the same. The only thing changing is the number of people coming early as Xfactor and The Voice created a massive amount of "new" fans who only follow the examples they have coming from "old" hardcores fans....(I don't like this battle between old and new fans btw but it's the best way I've found to explain my point). I totally agree with this Christine. I've been part of the competitive queuing too and it happened that I went to some venues around 5 am because I was so obsessed with the idea of being front row and most of all because it seemed absolutely normal to do so as everyone was... Then, after one of Bercy gig in Paris, I've had a little "private mika moment" when he came out of the venue to see us and asked me directly how I was when he saw me. It was the first (and the last) time Mika spontaneously spoke directly to me and the only answer he got from me is " I'm F****g tired" because that was how I felt. I was up since 4 am, danced and sang all along the gig and when I got the chance to have my little moment with him I ruined it because my only obsession at that time was sleeping ><. Anyway, I'm telling this story because this "incident" really helped me to realize how stupid my behavior was. I promised myself that I would never ever wake up at stupid o'clock in the morning for a gig, never. This is my personal decision, as a free thinking individual and I won't blame anyone else for that. Now I enjoy the shows even more because I'm relax, in a top form and so happy to have the chance to be there. Of course even now I would sometimes love being front row, mostly because this way I would be with some old "Mika friends" to enjoy the fun and because I loved the little eye contact I could have from Mika when I was first row, but if this means waking up stupidly early and not enjoying seeing him as much as I want, then I won't do it. It's a choice each of us has to make. If some people here do also find it stupid and crazy to start queuing in the middle of the night (or even the day before a gig) and start a gig being exhausted because of the lack of sleep and the horribly long day you just had, than just make a choice and don't do it yourself instead of blaming others for acting this way...
  21. Ok i get a bit more how it all worked then. I did not see the italian manager's message as i have no single idea who he is xD Anyway what makes me so uncomfortable about this all is that for me it has nothing to do with people standing up against homophobia... It's only people standing up against Mika being attacked on a personal matter which is a completely different thing... It's pointless.
  22. I’ve been reading twitter, MFC, FB etc… since I first found out about what is happening and I have to admit that I’m very uncomfortable about it… As much as my first reaction was to keep my opinion for myself about the whole drama, it’s been in my thoughts throughout the day and I finally feel like saying I don’t get it at all! Having experienced myself, for some other reasons, how painful it sometimes is to deal with stupid people constantly judging you and pointing out that you’re “different” in very cruel ways, I can understand how personal it is to deal with this. Therefore I don’t get at all how people, not being part of Mika’s close relatives, family, friends and pretending to show him some respect and love, can send him this picture over and over again to such an extent that he has to publicly react to this… Of course no one forced him to write what he did, nor to change his profile picture etc… but still, hadn’t he received thousands of messages reminding him about this poster, he wouldn’t have giving it so much attention… simply because it doesn’t deserve attention at all! OK a stupid asshole tagged a poster with very negative words pointing out the fact that he his gay…so what? I unfortunately don’t think it’s the first time this is happening and I don’t think it’s the last either… There are stupid haters at every corner around the world and we all know this. Mika surely knows it more than some of us and he knows how it is best for him to deal with them… so what’s the point of sending him this picture and who are we to get into his privacy and ask him for a public reaction about it? I’ve been fan of his for a few years now, more or less depending of my tastes with his music and the way he decides to build his career, but I never considered myself, and never will, close enough to give him my opinion about things regarding only him in his private life… I love his music and enjoy going at his gigs that’s all. Of course the few things I know about the person he his are touching me also but I’ll never considerate I know him closely enough to pretend being in a position allowing me to tell him what I think about his personal life! Of course using his public status could have been a good thing if it was his choice and if it was made through helping some associations in raising money for them, being personally implied in some of them or stuff like that… but harassing someone via social media to such an extent that he has to react to something very personal and be the spokesman of the whole cause makes no sense to me… nor to send him hundreds of messages telling him how much we love him and support him in his very personal fight afterwards…
  23. Hi everyone I don't have time for a proper report as Kate (miss lollipop54) is still with me and we're about to leave home to go to Montreux The gig was GREAT!! there was such a good wibes from the crowd! everyone was singing and dancing from the very beginning to the end so we really had fun! Kate and I plus 2 other friends of mine were on the right side of the stage, at the back but as the place was really small we had a very nice view on the stage plus lot's of space to dance as we wanted so it was a perfect spot for us! I can't remember the whole setlist but he didn't sing promiseland. He sang staring at the sun and I was very happy to hear it live. He also did over my shoulder which was an absolut highlight for me He was very chatty during the show and he obviously enjoyed havong such a responsive audience in front of him. At one point a littl girl from the association "make a wish" got on stage with him and she really had fun dancing with him. It was amazing to see and the crowd went crazy to see her dancing and having such a good time on stage! it really was lovely to see He did not stop at the end of the show but there were many people waiting for him (the Voice is also popular here unfortunately...) and as some of them were behaving like stupid mad animals in the end I'm pretty happy he did not get to see that and deal with those crazy girls screaming and running after every car. I'll make a full report later with some videos I've taken but you'll have to be patient as Kate is here until monday and we're getting ready for our swiss national day tomorrow
