I have been doing this for months now. He's almost finished excluding the clothes, so I thought he finally deserves his own thread! :naughty: I posted this on Facebook earlier today:

At first I went to eBay and bought a cheap Ken doll whose face shape reminded me of Mika and chopped his head off. You can see he didn't have much hair. I had to do my first re-root. It was partial, but I really had to remove most of the doll's original hair 'cause it was too short.

Ken got a nice new curly hairdo and a new hairline on his forehead! You can't see the original hairline here since I didn't take a picture of it, but search for Prince Aidan on eBay if you really must know how terrible it was.

Then I completely removed the original face paint with acetone and started painting a new face. This took a few weeks 'cause I could paint only at noon when I had enough daylight. It took long also because I messed up a few times, so ended up removing the face four times and starting from scratch.

At this point the eyes were nice and I had no intention to remove them again... just to put more color. He already looked like Mika in my opinion, he even had a scar which I later had to remove 'cause (cough) it wasn't in the right angle!

Awful lip color. I'm certainly not making a drag queen.

Mika didn't have enough hair, so I had to stick more holes on his scul. (Hrr.) After that he looked like a troll.

This next phase was a bit violent, so I had to gag him in order to prevent him from screaming, you know. Nah, not really - I tried to make his face slimmer! Luckily I recently watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the new one) again and remembered what Willy Wonka had on his head as a child. I also had to re-make the curls 'cause they got ruined previously.

Erm... I'm not sure what to say about this picture, except that the water was hot.

mikadoll9.jpg

Attaching the head was harder than removing it, so the tools in the background came in handy. Notice the wild curl that doesn't want to be tamed - just like in my drawings! Oh yes, he got nice granny curls! Don't notice the clothes, he used to be a prince! He's far from being finished, but is looking good though. What do you think?

To be continued...

Wow it is great !:punk:

Do you seal it ?:naughty:

Seal? Or did you mean sell? It won't be for sale - ever. But I could indeed seal it in a package before giving it to Mika. He wouldn't have any idea as to what the package holds inside of it! Hmm... Good idea, an OOAK (one of a kind) doll needs an OOAK package! :thumb_yello:

Marianne, that is stunning!!!

Kens never looked so good:naughty:

How long exactly did it take you to do?

Are you making a complete wardrobe for him?

You've gotta show it to Mika, he'll be chuffed to see he's got his own action figure:naughty:
