Noche de 'Relax' y pop pegadizo

 

Suena un remix de la canción 'By the way' de Red Hot Chili Peppers que pincha el 'dj' americano Felix da Housecat. La gente se mueve y baila al ritmo de la música, pero en los laterales de la discoteca, cerca de las barras y de la cabina del técnico de sonido y luces, muchos de los asistentes a la fiesta 'I want my MTV Ibiza' ya están cansados de bailotear y se sientan en los escalones. Unas chicas con tacones vertiginosos y sus acompañantes esperan impacientes el inicio del concierto de Mika, protagonista de la fiesta que se celebra en la discoteca Amnesia.

 

A las dos y media, hora prevista del inicio del concierto. La sala aún no está llena del todo. La mayoría de los asistentes, turistas, se ha puesto su ropa más fashion. Se apagan las luces y la música deja de sonar. El público que está sentado se levanta eufórico y silba. Se han colgado unos cuadros de tela en el escenario que recuerdan el barroco francés. Los asistentes gritan repetidas veces: «¡Mika!, ¡Mika!, ¡Mika!». De la nada aparece el cantante. Lo acompañan la vocalista y los demás integrantes del grupo. Mika inaugura su concierto en vivo y directo veinte minutos después de lo previsto con su archiconocida 'Relax, take it easy'. El público chilla emocionado. La gente levanta las manos, salta y canta la canción. Muchos alzan el móvil para inmortalizar el momento.

 

Mika viste americana y pantalones color blanco y destaca en el escenario. El cantante baila con gran expresividad la canción del álbum 'Life in a cartoon motion'. Se mueve por todas las tablas e incita al público a saltar y a tararear el estribillo. Los músicos y la vocalista que acompañan al artista visten ropa de época, similar a las de los cuadros.

 

«¡Buenas noches Ibiza! ¡¿Estáis listos?!», grita el cantante con emoción. El público asiente y chilla al mismo tiempo, mientras los flashes iluminan la sala. Suena la música, se mueven los focos y la luz invade el espacio. Tonos azules, amarillos y blancos. La gente empieza a cantar junto a Mika 'Big girl (You are beautiful)'. El cantante sube las escaleras del escenario y el foco le ilumina. Se quita la americana con vitalidad y la lanza por los aires. Saluda a la gente de los reservados de la discoteca. El cantante enfoca el micrófono hacia el público para que cante el estribillo: «¡Más fuerte!», pide el artista. Y el público vuelve a intentarlo con éxito.

 

Mika también se pone una chaqueta barroca en color azul marino. 'Rain', 'Blame it on', 'Love today'… El artista canta una canción detrás de otra sin descansar. El estilo alegre de sus temas y su voz aguda, que muchos imitan sin éxito, crean una atmósfera desenfadada que no es muy típica en la discoteca de Sant Rafel.

 

La música deja de sonar y para animar al público Mika simula sacar de una funda imaginaria una espada y mata con ella a todos sus músicos. De otra estocada hace lo mismo con el público. La gente que se encuentra más cerca del escenario sigue el juego del artista y se tira al suelo, malherida. «¿Estáis preparados?», pregunta Mika. Hay un subidón en la música, los artistas y el público se levantan eufóricos y suena 'We are golden'. «¡Bello! ¡Bravo Mika!», gritan unos chicos italianos mientras saltan y levantan las manos.

 

Después de 'We are young', 'Grace Kelly' y la divertida canción 'Lollipop' Mika se despide del público. Se marcha. Pero los asistentes quieren más.

 

Segundos después el cantante aparece con el micrófono y canta su nuevo single, 'Elle me dit', totalmente en francés y con un estilo más electrónico. Aunque el público no se sabe la letra, tararea el estribillo y baila con emoción. El grupo se despide y se marcha. El público lo aclama mientras renace la música techno.

so was *anyone* of the hardcores at this gig at all? looks like no mfcer, but maybe some of the frenchies? if not, this must've been an experience that mika didn't have in a while, a public gig without any familiar faces! :teehee:
