(in french ^^) I don't see the interest to create this version, fact of SATS was out since few weeks... Finally, the second verse in french, I don't like, but I don't know why... mellody Posted August 8, 2015 Share Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) hm, i don't know about this french-english version, this mix sounds weird to me. usually i don't mind, i remember this song by 90s boyband worlds apart, "je te donne" - it also was a mix of french and english, but i liked it. but in this case, maybe it's just because i knew the english version first, but it somehow sounds badly put together, like it doesn't really fit. his voice sounds different in the french parts (maybe in the boyband song it didn't bother me, cause it were different people who sang? ), and i don't get why he hasn't done all of it in french, if he thinks he has to release a french version. did him and doriand run out of ideas for french lyrics that fit to the song? as for the song itself, it's my least favourite on the standard edition of the album, i kept skipping it after listening to it a few times... but since it's released as a single and i hear it so often, it has started to grow on me. i liked the lyrics right away, but the sound reminds me too much of empire of the sun (edit: exactly, as digital love says, of the song "we are the people", which i HATE ), and i don't like their music. maybe the more i hear SATS, the less i make this connection, as now i know this song a lot better than those of empire of the sun. i don't think it'll become one of my faves, but at least releasing it as a single might make me not skip it anymore, as it's continuously stuck in my head now. having said that, i do love the video. Agreed. To me it sounds like a duet with himself or something... The French is recorded differently and just thrown into the English song. I expected it to be completely in French so I'm slightly disappointed in that way... xD But anyway I liked the song from the very beginning, so well.
