What Mika song has the most meaning to you?

I mentioned before that Popular Song is one of my favourites, but Porcelain also means a lot to me.  Reminds me of when I saw Mika for the first time at the London Palladium.  Honestly, words can't even describe how excited I was that day.  Hearing him sing Porcelain was a really magical moment.  Now, everytime I hear it, I get really emotional because I can't stop thinking of the concert, which was the best night of my life.

Already wrote what song has a special meaning to me but about my favorites I can't choose only one. No Place In Heaven, Porcelain, Staring At The sun, Hurts,BBB, Ordinary Man, Les Baisers Perdus and with time I've come to surrender to Promiseland. Those are only some I love from NPIH album. I have another favorites from the other albums.

I think I've already posted here a while ago, but my favorites keep changing, although some always stay in my 'top 5'!

I can't choose only one, but a few of my fave's are SATS, Promiseland, Hurts, Love Today, Rain, Relax and All She Wants. :wub2:

I might come back later again to post a completely different list! :naughty:

For me, it Will probably be...

Love Today, because it is so beautiful and it is always so good to hear. And also because it was the first Mika song I've ever heard (at 7 !)

We are golden,b because This is probably the reason why i talked with him the very first time... (even if it was really short I enjoyed it XD )

Comme un soleil mal luné, because This is my best choice among all the sad songs that i can possibly know. It is really conforting and very meaningfull for me.

The Origin of Love , because the beat and the lyrics are so contradictoire but so amazing XD

and of course Hurts , because this song tell my own story, it has the words on my past feelings and the beat (from the piano version) is so sad and so happy in the same time...

All of those are probably the most meaningfull songs from any artists in all times.

That's it! ;-)

totally impossible to choose one, it really depends on my mood at the time. Rain is special to me though cause it is a song that i put on and sing very loud too whe i'm feeling angry and it makes everything better. staring at the sun, stardust and i see you i can relate too well. good guys i love because of the reference to oscar wilde who is a absolute hero of mine and someone i would love to have met if we lived in the same time. popular song due to its anti-bullying message and promiseland because of how i feel so much different to everyone i know and i hate that sometimes- in particular the beginning of the song 'lived my life as the good boy i was told i should be. prayed every night to a religion that was chosen for me'

if i carry on i think i might end up listing every song :D

yeah, I understand you completely. I chose 3 songs before and now my mood has changed. Here is my new choice.

1.Grace Kelly because it's the first Mika song I ever heard and because it's such a beautiful example of anger transformed into positive energy. I just made a big decision myself and now I understand and love this song even more.

2. Songbird (duet with Paul de Leeuw) , so simple and so pure.

3. Ci parliamo di grandi (duet with Eros Ramazzotti). I keep listening to this song. The words of the english part move me a lot, I don't exactly know why. I'm also touched by Mika's uninhibited happiness because he is singing with Eros.

OMG... hard hard question

from time to time the song changes, together with the feelings a certain period.

Even during the same day I happen to prefer some to some others  I TRULY love underwater :fangurl: and every time I listen to good wife some tears come to my eyes, it is so emotional and "brave"... also when I listen to Stardust I feel like trembling inside :blush-anim-cl:

Obviously Grace Kelly will always be the "sliding door" of our Mika_world :pinkbow:

Also adore last party, happy ending, good guys.... I can only say that I can find a favourite and significant Mika song for every moment of my day, and I love this

In my opinion this question need an articulated answer. I love

"Underwater", "The origin of love" and "Happy ending" because they always make me think about my husband (but I don't know why)."Over my shoulder" because in some way it recalls a hard part of my life that is still going on, snd then the "happy songs" like "Relax", "Grace Kelly" or "Rio". Of course there are many others Mika'show songs that I really like but the list would be too long. Last but not least, as I teach French, there are "my students' Mika songs" like "Elle me dit" or "L'amour fait ce qu'il veut" that I use at school to make them learn some French songs and that they appreciate very much.

If I absolutely had to pick one it would be We Are Young from the Kick Ass movie.

And this isn't my favourite song, but it's definitely the one I relate to the most at the moment since I'm about to graduate from a professional degree and I'm both excited but also scared to take on the world. Listening to We Are Young gives me a nice energy and confidence boost :)

But honestly I love so many of his songs and they mean different things when I am in different moods....

Three songs that mean a lot to me would have to be Relax, Blue Eyes, and Big Girl. The song Relax helps me a lot in my life. If I'm feeling nervous or stressed about something, I just listen to the song or remember the lyrics. This song has inspired me in many ways and has helped me through many tough times, especially in school. The song Blue Eyes helps me when I'm sad. The whole song describes my life. Sometimes I'll be pretty depressed, but I will instantly think of the lyrics "blue eyes, blue eyes, what's the matter with you?" That usually drives me to listen to the song and I take in all the lyrics, and it makes me feel better. The song Big Girl taught me to love myself no matter what. I've always been overweight and I have been bullied because of it. This song makes me feel like I'm not alone and that I am beautiful just the way I am.

The issue I have with the topic here is that "song" is singular, making it virtually impossible to answer.

"Any Other World"

"Heroes"

"Last party"

These are three songs that touches me in a way that very, very few songs do. We are talking Mike Batt "Bright Eyes" way of touching me, and that does not exactly happen often. Picking one is just totally impossible...

First, I really like most Mika songs, except one at least  the album version, but that's my personal taste. Nearly each song is good for something, to dance, to think about or to sing with. But there are some songs that touch me in a very special way, sometimes cause of own experiences and sometimes  the feeelings which are coming out and it is different  from the popversion or orchestra version

Happy ending, Any other world, last party, heroes, underwater, overrated, porcelain, no place in heaven, ordinary man, Tah dah and not forgot Grace Kelly cause with it  my Mika journey started.

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure what "Touches You" is about

This is Mika's explanation from an interview :wink2:

My favourite MIKA song - A story by Panduck

My favourite MIKA song is "The Origin of Love". The way it starts as a "dull love song" and slowly evolves into a complex masterpiece of sound is just out of this world. The lyrics goes deeper and deeper as does the effectusage that is very difficult to keep at that level without making it seem "overdone". It is a masterpiece of a song, virtually impossible to top.

But eh.. My favourite MIKA song MUST be "We are Golden". I listen to it and I am pulled back to the greatness of the 80s. It is such pure joy and bouncy happiness that it lifts you up almost no matter what. He shows that he just can outdo even the masters of the 80s. I just wanna dance!

No, listen.. My favourite MIKA song is "I see you". The fragile voice, the amazing instrumentation. It paints a picture in my mind that cannot even be described. It is a palette of musical colours on a dreamy canvas with lyrics that just grabs your heart.

Hm.. No.. My favourite MIKA song mut be "Any other world"... I mean... Seriously... It takes a poetic genious to write these lyrics. Here, he competes with the masters of the 60s with amazing lyrics and simple, yet powerful music. You cannot listen to this without getting tears in your eyes.

Really.. I think my favourite MIKA song is Promiseland. I dont even know how to describe this song. It is so dynamic, crafted from start to end. Beat, instrumentation, lyrics, vocal performance.. Wow!

Beautiful Disaster has to be my favourite MIKA song. I am attracted to this song for so many reasons, the lyrics are amazing, and he wraps it up in, again, a song crafted from beginning to end, like a true master. I enjoy every single second, every single note seem to be put there for a purpose. Nothing is left to chance. Well. I guess this goes for most of the songs on this list...

Overrrated is so amazing it must be my favourite MIKA song. Heck, I dont even like music in this style and this song just makes me want to bounce. Please do not ask me why this is my fave MIKA song, I have no idea. I just get so happy. Yet.. pulled down a bit... by the lyrics. There is a bit of conflicting emotions here. I... eh...

But.. I really think my favourite must be "Last Party". It is so lovely, and sad... Odd combination of joy and depression. And such an important song. This describes how I feel about the world to the letter.

No! My favourite MUST be Good Guys! *runs and get a tissue* Seriously... I cannot even...

Heroes is... Oh thank goodness I have a stack of tissues... Dang you MIKA how in the world could you write something like this. This song HURTS and I just cannot stop listening to it.

I may have left a few favourites out still.

Have been a bit absent from the forum. From MIKAs music? Not at all. Either I listen to it, or it is autoplaying in my head.
