Hello everyone :bye:

This was one of my best Mika gigs ever.

I feel heart felt sorry for those that queued for hours, particularly those that had a really bad entry experience, and then chose to go right down to the front. Having been at PDP all those years ago i didn't think that going to the front was the best option. I queued with Blue Sky but didn't stay with her when we got in as three or four back is no good for me.... I feel claustrophobic..... I need to be either on the barrier or at the back. So i went around from the end of the runway and just managed to get 'half a spot' on the barrier just around the corner. Turned out to be just where the piano popped up and where Mika Spent the majority of his time. It was an amazing spot and in a venue of that size, with that amount of people and only having queued about three hours I felt amazingly privileged.

I found the show to be fantastic. I thought his voice was in brilliant form and came across fantastically. To go off mic even briefly in a venue of that size was awesome. He played to the crowd really well and had a lot of interaction. I was happy with the set list. I know that us purists would probably like a bit more variety but that's unlikely to happen. I was even lucky enough to get a special moment in Stardust when Mika spotted me and sang to me. :huglove: always a massive bonus and totally unexpected in a venue of that size.

It's a while since I have been to a 'proper' Mika gig, one that wasn't a festival/ theatre or orchestral gig. I didn't get to any on the Heaven tour other than the Adelphi where I was seated in the balcony so it's quite some time since I have had this sort of experience. I didn't know if i was going to be able to make it to the gig this time, and on Thursday with the travel problems and rioting in Paris I was having serious doubts. But I am SO glad that I went.

As ever it was lovely to meet up with MFCers.

I do hope that there is a DVD of this show eventually.

Mika rend hommage à la France à l'AccorHotels Arena ! (live report)

Mika celebrates France at AccorHotels Arena! (Live report)

Last night, Mika grazed the boards of the new AccordHotels Arena for a concert. Lovers of France, Paris and the French public, Mika decided to pay tribute in a show created especially for the opportunity.

Mika was the concert of the week not to be missed! And besides, it made you win tickets to his concert at the Arena AccorHotels this May 27 in order not to miss the event. Mika loves France, he loves Paris, he loves his audience and Parisian French and he proved it last night on the stage of the old Bercy!

The singer had previously announced in an interview during his visit to Paris as part of his tour, he would pay tribute to France and Paris. Following the tragic events that hit the country late last year, he decided to dedicate this concert and write a "love letter" to the country that so close to his heart by creating an exceptional show for opportunity ! Mika and was wonderfully successful mission! Whereas on stage you could find a rather kitsch frame composed of a throne, with a big red heart, displays its name or a caravan for the occasion a grand Arc de Triomphe has been added to the scenery basic and placed on the forefront in the middle of the public. Accompanied by a band of forty musicians, Mika opened the show with his famous song "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)"!

During his concert, Mika has once again proven his talents as a singer, musician, dancer and showman but also! His little dance to "Boum Boum Boum" and "Elle Me Dit" is made of the effect. If the public of AccorHotels Arena came alive to the sound of Mika titles, it sometimes seemed "shy" to taste Mika. The singer then does not hesitate to involve the concert, especially on the track "Underwater" where Mika asked the audience to take their phones to have a tide of mobile phones, or rather in his star! Even he participated in this pretty solemn moment of stealing mobile concert a fan first. Mika has not also failed to change on stage when a fan handed him a shirt, then offering his back. Only Mika to do that! Mika was fishing and it showed!

"If this is the end of the world, let's party", as he sang proudly. Mika wanted the Parisian audience forgets reality the time of his concert and it's done! Time for a chorus of "Happy Ending", the 32 year old artist has been able to silence nearly 15 000 people to sing without a microphone a few words of the song. Chapeau Mika !

In addition to the Arc de Triomphe created for the show, Mika also visually paid tribute to France. In the screens that make up its name, Mika aired between songs a mini film shot in Paris where we see it at the Eiffel Tower, the Sacré-Cœur or on the way to Bercy for his concert! He also paid tribute to history of France by broadcasting a mini movie on its screens reminiscent of liberation after the Second World War. Between songs from the first album "Life In Cartoon Motion" such as "Lollipop," "Love Today" or "Relax, Take It Easy", Mika has blended the pieces of his debut with all new such as "It told me, "which he also dedicated to a certain" Mrs. Potato, "or" The Lost Kisses "in perfect French. Mika ended his show with a final approaching 12 minutes to the sound of "Love Today" where he appeared in a birthday cake, the last piece of accessories on his table. Even after two hours of concert to give their all, Mika would not leave the scene of the Arena AccorHotels let alone his Parisian audience, delaying maturity as he could playing with his fans. A top concert in color with an amazing atmosphere, the image of the character! This week, the Coldplay concert at Coldplay au Stade Charles Ehrmann de Nice was also not to be missed!

I don't know what to say about this show...

It was amazing... breath taking,stunning....performance. I was in first row and i really enjoyed it. Whole day waiting...i was exhausted.

But it was special...  Underwater with orchestra and Elle me dit with flags, dancing. I had a lot of fun even though i don't understand French unfortunately.

But the final... Love today, that was so powerful. I also really enjoyed Good guys... I enjoyed everything and that's the biggest problem haha :)...the boy on the lines during  Les Baisers Perdus...amazing.

But i was a little bit upset because of the setlist. Exactly the same songs as in Prague but with a few french songs. I was counting for Promiseland, but next time :)

Haha! I've given up on stupid-o-clock queueing so strolled in at 8.45pm, thinking - I'll work my way down the side to somewhere near the front. No chance as it was packed. So, I got about halfway down and decided to stop right there… which was excellent as the "middle" stage was right there! Result  :thumb_yello:. Loved the gig, even if it was fairly OTT in terms of the amount of stuff going on! Imagine the Palladium will be very different, after all that set wouldn't even fit in the building, so I'm hoping for more of a "gig" in London than an "extravaganza"!

Good to briefly see you and Blue Sky in Paris, see you in Londres :)

After these two days to depress in my bed, I'm able to write my report.

The queue seemed long  with the blazing sun burning our clothes, there was a very atmosphere; especially the afternoon when there were journalists and cameramen for a tv channel who asking us to sing some songs of Mika ^^.

Before go to to the pit, people were very crazy. They beat and hurt others just to have the best place. I saw some fans on the ground without help. It looks like the anarchy.

Anyway, I was on the 3rd row, on the caravan side, placed on the middle of the long scene.

Xylaroo were good singers, nice to listen. They have a beautiful voice. Some girls sceamed the name of Mika when they sang, I found that very irrespectful. But it was a beautiful half-hour.

The intermission lasted an eternity. Many red butlers were coming to the stage, I throught that it was to keep waiting us. Yes and no :naughty: .

Lights down, the show begins by an introduction like a "war tribute". It was very sad. Then, the ambiance change immediately on a cabaret theme. Mika comes on stage with an crazy energy ! I didn't know the first french song, she is so old but his version on Bercy was very awesome ! The "sky" were full of flags, and the scenery was very festive !  I loved that !

The setlist was very good ! I cried many times by his choice of songs.

Rain, finally, I lived my favorite song in real ! With the luminous Arc de Triomphe, it was so beautiful.

Grace Kelly was funny with his weird translations about love and his mother, to finish, to "Madame Patate"  :floor:

Les Baisers Perdus. So emotional. In my opinion, there was the most beautiful staging of the whole gig. The acrobatic rubban gave me chills. The voice of Mika was calm, limite shy to let the young boy do his act.

Underwater. The first verse in symphonic. Nothing to say. He was very touched by the 15000 lights on. We were his little stars who gonna be big suns.

BBB. Hilarous ! Especially on his way to explain how to dance the "boum boum" :das:(me and my friends were behind his back, we're have had a beautiful view on his dance  :mf_rosetinted:  :teehee: )

I really liked the idea to take the screen of Lisbon on the big letters. The film about Paris was beautiful. I was not in this world when he visited Montmartre   :swoon: (And me and my friend were crazy because we discovered that Mika took the same metro line than us everyday  :naughty: )

Elle me dit. He showshis love to France and Paris by his disguises and his joy with a F

french flag

Happy Ending. So powerful. See and hear for the first time in live the acapella to finish the song.... I cried again. I can die in peace.

WAG, TAY, Big girl. The Mika's universe like we love.

Last Party. I love this song in live. Very different than studio, especially in the end. Everybody makes party, it's beautiful to see that.

Love Today. The cake was giant ! The idea that Mika hides on that, my mind said "Oh, a Mika surprise !" And Yes, all the butlers were happy, danced and wanted to communicate with the crowd the joy ! Everybody forgot their problems, and do what they want by dancing and singing.

The show will be broadcasted on two channels in France and Italy. Certainly to celebrate his 10-year carrer. The picture of the cake would be logical.

I take few pictures because i wanted to enjoy maximally of the show. And my phone takes bad photos cause of the high luminosity.

I have some videos. Sorry in advance for the black bands. Always with my phone. (I really need to have a new camera...)

:thumb_yello: Thank you so much for your great report!   I really enjoy reading about your lucky choice of spot, and special moment with MIKA in Stardust - wow - what a lovely surprise! :teehee:  I'm truly happy for you!!  And I suppose you walk around with "stardust in your eyes" - and that it's still there, when I meet you in London next Sunday!! :wink2:  Thanks to all for your reports - and for all those amazing  pics from this show, which looks abs. fab. :thumb_yello:   I do hope there will be a DVD,  so everybody can enjoy it, even nothing compares to experience it live... :fisch:

Love, love

Thank you! Looking forward to seeing you next week :huglove:

Yes indeed - it certainly was an extravaganza. If will be a completely different show next Sunday I am sure! Glad you got a good spot.
