Hello everyone !

I just came back from Strasbourg, so here is my report !  :das:

I will give you the setlist first, but I don't remember the right order. The only one I am sure for the order are the two first songs and the last one.

So, the setlist was :

-Big Girls

- Talk about you

-Grace Kelly

- Lollipop

- Good wife

-Relax

- We are Golden

- Rain

- Happy Ending

- Origin of Love

- Underwater

- Elle me dit

- Good Guys

- Last Party

- Tant que j'ai le soleil

- Boum Boum Boum

- Love Today

It was my first gig and it was absolutely amazing ! The venue was crowded ! I was lucky to get in the front row, I had a seated place, just in front of the stage. I won't speack about the first part, because I was half sleeping, sorry but it wasn't the kind of music I like even if the two girls were really nice. The first part began at 20H00 and finished at 20H30. Then, nothing ! The Boss only arrived at 21H00 on stage. It was amazing. He did the traditional prayer and sang Big Girl. It was really nice and people were singing along during the whole gig. Many things happened during the gig !

Mika totally forgot the lyrics of Lollipop and made up new lyrics in French ! It was the translation of the english words but it means nothing litterally translated, that was hilarious. At the beginning of the song, all his musicians were playing with the sticks on his piano while he was telling us that the first part of the song is supposed to take place in a train. Then he turned to Curtis to tell that the train is loosing speed and Curtis crushed his hand with the sticks. Mika's answer to that was "bastard!" and then the song get on.

What I really love in this gig was Mika dedicacing the song origin of love to the public, saying that the last part of the lyrics means "Thank God that I found you". It was really touching.

For underwater, this time we didn't use the lights of our phones, we use the same flags as Mika, the white flag with a big red heart and M. It was beautiful ! Another hilarious moment was when he tried to sing Boum Boum Boum, he forgot all the lyrics one more time, saying it was the fault of the crowd before him, they had written nonsense on their papers and it was distracting him  :naughty: . He finally managed to end the song correctly.

He really was difficult for him to have silence in order to sing Happy Ending and when he finally did it, he stuck out the tongue to us. He seemed pretty happy. Before Elle me dit, someone screemed to him "à poil" which means in french "undress!" He used this while singing elle me dit and it was hilarious. He answered this man that he was already dressed and that he was sleeping with his clothes on !  :teehee:

At the end of "Tant que j'ai le soleil", he came in the pit, right before me. But my pic is blurry  :sneaky2: so i can't post it.

The show ended at 23H00, after this we get out to wait for him. We didn't wait long, he came out at 00H30 and stayed with us until 1h00. He was really nice, very chatty with every fan. He took time to sign something for each person (my ticket for exemple  ), and i managed to give him the gift I made for him. He got many presents. He seemed very happy and joyful.

It was an amazing experience for me and i am already impatient to see him again in Nîmes. I promise you a detailed report for that gig too !

I will post my pics and videos this afternoon  :thumb_yello:

EDIT : I forgot to add a funny fact in my report ! During the gig, there was a mosquito flying over Mika. At one moment, Mika looked up at the mosquito and said "Be warned, I bite harder than you !"   :lmfao: After this, we didn't see the mosquito anymore. Maybe it was afraid of Mika ? :mfr_lol:

What a fantastic gig! :fangurl: the crowd was on fire, i heard so much clapping and cheering from the seated area, which doesn't happen too often - and of course mika loved it! I actually liked the gig more than the paris one... the latter was a huge show, which doesn't leave that much room for spontaneity (although mika did well with that and managed to add some spontaneity despite all the choreographed elements) - and in strasbourg he seemed much more relaxed and did spontaneous crazy things like just leaving the stage and walking through the crowd (for sats). :-) maybe it's just because i've been to so many gigs, but i love it when he does such spontaneous unexpected things, this makes the shows much more interesting. :naughty:

Anyway, we arrived at the venue around noon and sat down in one of the 5 queues at the different gates. Later in the afternoon we had a lovely little queueing picnic with Miri's wonderfully designed and delicious Mumu cake, of which we posted pix on twitter and instagram. ;-) and we were so lucky with the weather, sunshine all day, and only shortly after we entered the venue, it started pouring down.

queueing and the entry were pretty relaxed, the only thing i didn't like was that at every gate they made separate lines for men and women, so many of the tall guys ended up in the front. I was fine with my 2nd row spot on the side, because i'm tall myself... but i think for some it was quite hard to see much. This always can happen, of course, but in this case it was caused by security people, that's the point that bothered me. Anyway, just a minor problem - no comparison to paris! :aah:

The crowd already was very responsive to the support act, and they stayed like that, as i said before. It was cool to see the arc de triomphe of the paris set on stage again, i love the colourful and twinkling lights on it!

I think the setlist was the usual one for this tour, unfortunately without promiseland. During SATS, he left the stage and went to the back of the standing area for a while. I bet the fans back there were pretty happy about it. :teehee:

When he saw me during one of the first songs, he made a little bow to me, a sort of personal "thank you for coming", and little gestures like this of him mean so much to me. :wub2: that's why i keep queueing, even joining the completely crazy hours like in paris, so i have the chance to get something like this... it kinda makes up for the missing m&g's, they've become so rare now. Though in this case i was lucky. :-)

I loved that he said a few german words (meine damen und herren at the beginning, Danke in the end), loved his dancing and crowd interactions, the unplugged ending of HE (though some idiots in the back kept shouting things to him when he tried to tell the crowd to be quiet ), loved his reaction when the crowd took over singing lollipop, and then when he forgot the lyrics for the 2nd verse, which i think might've been because he hadn't sung the first part, so the automatic connection in his brain was missing. :teehee:

He had the admiral's hat with him, which a fan had thrown on stage in paris, and put it on for one song. It looks like it's selfmade, and they used a feather duster for the feathers - quite funny and clever, love it! :naughty: #fluff

I guess more things will come back to my mind when i watch my pix & videos, but atm i don't remember much more.

So let me finish my extended report with the aftershow m&g... i thought he would just wave from the car, or at maximum get out for half a minute to shake some hands - after all, there were surely over 100 fans waiting for him. But when he came, everyone stayed in their places, no one was screaming or shouting, and i guess that might've been why we all got SO much time with him. he first came to our little group (rose, nina and us german mfcers) and chatted with us for what felt like ages, so lovely! :wub2: i couldn't think of much to say, had forgotten everything i wanted to tell and ask him, because i was so tired and hadn't expected to get this chance. But it was just fab to have him standing right in front of me for a while and listening to him talking with the others. He talked about paris, that he was glad they survived it - i guess it was a lot of pressure for him, and it sounded like he wasn't 100% happy with how everything went, but was glad that it went ok and that all the pressure is over now. Saskia and Miri told him about the german meaning of Mumu, and apparently he really didn't know this. :teehee: he looked a bit shocked for a moment, but then told us a story about some friend/relative who opened a restaurant in london and named it something that has a very vulgar meaning in some asian language. So he's not the only one, haha! :lmfao: He also said something about the streaming of the london gig to china - something like that it's the first time in history they are doing this. he also said that the streaming from portugal had the most viewers of this festival's concerts ever. He looked happy as a child talking about these achievements, and vety proud of them. :wub2:

i don't remember any of the other topics we chatted about right now, but at some point he apologized that he had to go on now, because there were some others waiting. :teehee: (btw i found it amazing how quiet the over 100 fans there were, while he was talking with us!). Then he made his way down the line, signing and chatting, spending lots of time for everyone who wanted to talk with him. I took a few pix from the back and then joined my friends, who had decided to give him a special goodbye mexican wave at the end of the street where his car would pass by. :naughty: when he finally came, the car slowed down, he turned down the window, laughed and shouted "you're nuts!", before he left. :lmfao: as if that's something new, haha! :lmao: anyway, we all were like :swoon: and :fangurl: after he had left - and i guess we werent the only ones, but he left a lot of very happy fangurls there. :biggrin2:

:thumb_yello: I totally agree with you!    It warms my heart to have such reports, telling details about what happened,  during the night, when  most of us MFCers had to stay at home, and hope that everything turned out as a big success for those lucky enough to be there! And to know that MIKA gave so much of his time, after the show,  to his fans waiting outside,  makes me really happy! :)  It's also a confirmation that he's still "the good old one" - down to earth, nice and kind!    I do hope, and I'm also sure it will happen, that your time will come, to have the same experience, meeting MIKA!

Some words about the gig from me, too :)

I was there around half past 6 and went to the end of one line. (The French lines are always fascinating, in Germany we always have a big cluster :sneaky2: ). At this time it was still sunny and hot, but while we did wait clouds came up and a couple of minutes after the doors did open it started to pour down. Really pouring down :aah:  Everyone got very wet, especially as a lot of people were only wearing T-shirts. And maybe it was because of that - the crowd was very good :D  Felt like "we are wet to the bones now anyway, so whatever, no need to act decent, just have fun"  :naughty:  Or maybe the people in Strasbourg are just like that ;)  Anyway, it was strange (but good strange :wink2: ), the seating area was so loud and even did start the "Come on stage" clapping. Normally it's the other way around.

The gig was a “normal”, “basic” gig. And I mean it in the most positive way: Just about Mika, the crowd, about dancing and singing, not thinking, having fun. Not like Bercy yesterday which was more "planned" and more about the visuals and the show. And somehow that was exactly what I did need at that point. Mika was very energetic and a bit loose, had this "I'm playing around and do what comes to my mind" attitude, talked a lot (even if I only did get some bits and pieces) and I did enjoy that very much. I couldn't believe it when he went into the crowd, I would have never thought he would do it in France  The Lollipop incident was so funny :biggrin2:  And I did enjoy him playing more piano again (as well as in Bercy) after he didn't really do it last year aside from the intros. And two times confetti were great, too :D

Afterwards I met up with the other German fans and Rose & Nina. It was nice to meet you all (again) :) It didn't take long until he came out. Mellody has told everything already, so nothing really to add. Just saying again that it was nice to see/hear him talking to fans (for a long time). I didn't say anything, just listened, but this was nice to experience, too (especially when we told him about Mumu in German  )

I'm very glad I did decide to do this gig as well after Paris as I just had a very good time :pbjt:

My video of Boum Boum Boum

Sorry for the bad quality but if you understand french you will love what happened after the song  :naughty:  :thumb_yello:

Translation of the speech after Boum Boum Boum :

You know before going on stage, i brush my tooth, i brush my hair. Sometimes, when I really need it, when I really want to make an effort like tonight, i even wash my hair before i brush them. It's true ! Because i am a man with style ! I am looking at myself in the mirror, i am dressing up, i am putting my shirt on which is too short. And every time i get to this song, i look like s**t ! This morning, my sister Paloma who saw me last night for the first time in a long time, she told me : it was really funny ! when you sang "boum boum boum", honestly you looked like a tramp ! You were the least sexy person in whole Bercy, it was funny, you sang boum boum boum and you were a disaster !

But men like me, every man... we have feelings. We aren't idiots, not always. I am not a disaster. Because even if i sweat, if my shirt is too short, even if i forget my lyrics because the people in front of me wrote s**t on their streamer, when i am on stage i am not a disaster anymore. When you are in front of me, you are like me, we are beautiful. So i transform, in my head i am dressing myself one more time,  i am cool like james dean. I have beautiful and straight hair like Florent Pagny. my skin is smooth like Jennifer's. My fingernail are paint like Zazie's. I have the voice of Garou. I am Humphrey Bogard, I am james Dean, Clark Gable, I am a superhero. You are like me. We are not ashamed. And together we say Boum Boum Boum.

And after that, i realise that no, my shirt is still too short, my hair are wet and I don't care !

Sadly, I don't understand French language... but only understand that he talks The Voice's coaches : Florent Pagny, Jenifer, Zazie and Garou.

 Please translate when you have a time to do.

Btw, i just remembered that the support act thanked MFC on stage during their show. :wub2: i think they got some lovely tweets from MFCers, and also met some after the shows, where they sign stuff at the merch stand. It's not really the kind of music I'd go to see at a live show, and mostly a bit slow for a Mika support act (though their cover of I will survive in Strasbourg got very good crowd reactions)... it's just the 2 girls with their voices and a guitar. But they're very nice, and very nervous on stage, so I think it's fab that they get so much support by MFCers, and they know there are some of us at every Mika show. :)

I loved the Mika's concert in Strasbourg! It was different about Bercy but wonderful too! ❤

I liked very much when he passed the flag above us in front of the stage! ❤

And It was very funny when he spoke in Italian! ;)

After the gig he stopped with us and I spoke with him while he signed me the CD! ❤

A magic evening! ❤
