Yeah, i know... always the problem wirh ticketone.it, no e-tickets but instead horrendous fees for shipping abroad. :aah: at least the tickets look nice, with a picture. :teehee:

I ordered my ticket yesterday. :) It's such a shame that Poland isn't in Europe for ticketone...  anyway, see you there!

Wow, thanks so much! I will definitely try and queue early (not the night before!) to get a good spot. I feel strange queuing in a foreign country, feels as though I should be exploring. But Mika is so important!

PS,

Another questions to all:

Do you think he would be doing a meet and greet after the show?

Any chance?

Thanks!

Italy is probably the worst place to choose if you want a m&g - like maggie said, there's hardly any italian show in the last few years after which he stopped to meet his fans. But well, you'll never know, if there's not too many crazy screaming fans, we might be lucky. At least it doesn't seem to be a huge venue.

As for the queueing, unfortunately it doesn't happen often that the queue is organized well and respected by security. Which means even if you're there early, it doesn't guarantee you a good place, because people who arrive last minute will try to push in - and if there aren't good barriers and security doesn't care, it often works for them. :(

As for the box office on the gig day, i only know it the way that it opens at the same time as the doors open - which ofc doesn't help with getting to the front. But i haven't used the box office collection option in italy yet, so maybe it's different there.

of course we can't know before, but since 2014, he doesn't stop really often with fans after gigs in Italy...

but maybe it could be the "lucky day"  :wink2:

Thanks to both of you for replying!

I will wait a while afterwards and see what happens. For me, it's just a big deal to be able to see him live. I am been a fan for 10+ years and he has never been to South Africa, and my rand is too weak to travel around and see him :D

So I will cross my fingers and hope for the best!

As for the box office, I sure hope they allow me to collect the ticket before the show! :D

Often it works like that, but at Milan and Rome gig last September, they opened at about 4.30 PM so it was really relaxed... but it was just being lucky, since the days before we tried to phone call the Rome box office and they said like "well....we don't know... I guess we will open at about 6... or 7..."

...okay

  • 2 weeks later...

For what it's worth, I contacted Ticketone about the show and they said the Box Office would open about 2 hours before the show! So hopefully that is true!

My husband will hold my place in the queue while I rush off to collect our tickets!

I hope that it is clear for all that Cernobbio is not Como, it is another small city of the Como lake.

Como is easy to reach... the main train station is Como San Giovanni.

Public transports from Como to Cernobbio:

Hello, everyone!

I have a question, who's going to stay at Ostello Villa Olmo in Como? I'm asking cause hostel will be open until midnight, i think it's too early and i won't have enough time to come back after gig. I wrote an email to the hostel and they told me that they could wait unitl 1am but there must be more reservations with this request. So if you're going to book this hostel inform them about the situation! Thank you :)

See you soon :D

The venue is in a beautiful park of an historical Villa near the lake.

Fans queing and attending there should be respectful of the meadows...

Thanks so much Allegra!

I have booked accommodation in Cernobbio, but we are arriving in Como so the public transport links will be useful!

The venue looks BEAUTIFUL

I have booked with them and only saw the midnight curfew afterwards. Was about to write them too, and now that you say there's a chance, of course i will! Also saskia wanted to book with them - so there should be at least 3 of us. ;) anyone else? I think it's the cheapest place to stay nearby, only 20€ for a hostel bed.

I will be with my friend so 4 :). They must wait for us. I hate being limited  :sneaky2:. Hostel is 2km from Villa Erba, so we have to walk after gig and it takes 30min at least. And if someone wants to wait for Mika after gig it's impossible to be there at midnight. I hope everything will work properly :)

Bus website is in italian. Anyway the bus lines from Como San Giovanni Train Station to Cernobbio should be C10 and C20 and maybe N6.

No night service!

The bus stops near the venue are two but i'm not sure about the right location because apparently there are two locations:

https://www.facebook.com/festivalcernobbio/events

If the concert is in the main park of Villa Erba (like written on FB) the bus stop should be:

CERNOBBIO MAZZINI

If the concert is in the Ex Ippodromo area (near Villa Erba park) the bus stop should be:

CERNOBBIO CAMPANINI (scuole medie)

No Villa in the back of stage!

I don't know if my hotel has a curfew. Gosh. Doesn't say anything on the website. I have messaged them to let them know I will be coming in late that night.

BTW, will there be Mika merchandise on sale? When and where? I have not bought Sinfonia Pop yet and thought it would be nice to be able to buy it at the show?

Thanks!

Usually there's a merch stand inside, which is open before and after the show.

Hotels usually don't have curfews, just some hostels or small  b&b do.

Fantastic. Maybe the Sinfonia Pop will be on sale.

We are staying at a small BnB so there is a chance of a curfew, and they haven't replied to me, so I am just going to pitch up and hope and pray they let me in in the wee hours of the morning!

I've also got an answer that they can wait maximum 1 hour longer. I had asked them if our group can get a key for the front door, but apparently that's not possible. I definitely want to wait for Mika after the show though, and if that takes longer, still want to be sure to have a bed to sleep. So I've booked something else now, which is twice the price but close to the venue and without a curfew. I'll only cancel the hostel 2 days before the gig though, so hopefully they will still be open for you until 1am, even if there's not that many mika fans.

Thanks for the info, Allegra! :flowers2: The boat website is very helpful - if i understand it right, a one way ticket is just 2,50€ and boats are running every 30 minutes and take about 13-15 minutes. But I'm lost on the bus website. can you tell me how often the buses drive, how long they take and how much a ticket is, please? I'll be arriving in como around noon on the gig day and am wondering whether bus or boat would be faster/cheaper.

The website it not so clear, even for italians.

The trip of the bus should be 10/15 minutes. The ticket should be quite cheap, i think similar to the boat.

Horaires

http://www.asfautolinee.it/content/it/orari-rete-extraurbana

Bus Line C10

http://www.asfautolinee.it/wr-resource/upload/ORARI%20PDF/ORARI_ESTIVO/C10.pdf?cbck=wrReq93922

look at FERIALE ESTIVO

for example at Como San Giovanni station (staz. s. giovanni FS) you should have a bus at 12:24 and you arrive in Cernobbio at 12:34. Bus of this line starts every hour.

Bus Line C20

apparently has the same horaires

http://www.asfautolinee.it/wr-resource/upload/ORARI%20PDF/ORARI_ESTIVO/C20.pdf?cbck=wrReq93922

The bus is comfortable because stops near of the train station.

Try to get it. If you loose it, you can walk to the port, enjoy the center of the city and take the boat for a nice trip.

I found an hotel at 150 meters from the villa but I don't know which time I have to be back, no one answered my email. Which time will you all be near the venue ? I will try to be around 1 pm.

About the same time, i guess. But not sure i'll be queueing at all. Can't be bothered to stand in the burning summer sun for hours this time. Will decide what to do when i'm there.
