It's about .. *laughs* it's about a bunch of things. And it’s about seeing things. I used to see this little kind of gremlin-ly thing when I was a teenager, and I could see it, and I gave him a name, and I would talk about him. And the people in my class at school were kind of used to this idea. And I would use this imaginary thing.. And it looked very much like the baby in Ally McBeal." [he asks if she knows what he means, she says yes] "Kind of like this psychotic, fat-looking hairless and very strange creature which kind of causes a lot of trouble. Very much in a Roger Rabbit sort of way." she asks @ about 0:20 [media] [/media] I can't recall any other times he's spoken of the song's meaning. That if people say that you should be different it follows you around and "sits on your shoulder" and "comes here almost every day". But his explanation is certainly interesting. Yes, he is trying to get rid of this imaginary friend, to the point where we start wondering if this "friend" is really a friend at all! I really like the atmosphere and general feeling in this song. It's fun and catchy and bouncy but just a tiny bit creepy. I think the "one foot boy" is exactly like Willy Wonka in Tim Burton's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". That's a nice way to describe it that's an interesting way to describe people like willy wonka. Im just trying to think what other fictional characters are like that. hmmmmm. It got me thinking about Ollivander in Happy Potter.
