As stated in the MFC Guidelines, we really don't want to see the forums overrun with people posting "Vote for Me!" type of requests. Instead, we've set up this one thread in which you can ask other members to vote for you in contests, etc. You can ask for votes once. Please don't spam the thread with additional requests -- we'll simply delete them. Starting threads for this purpose or posting in other threads is not allowed. You may place a link in your signature, though, provided it complies with the signature size rules and other guidelines. Be sure to periodically review the MFC Guidelines for updates -- we have them in a number of different languages!…

One emoji can be worth a thousand words. Imagine what more can do! Use them to tell us about your week, or your job, to describe your life, or your personality. Or tell us any other thing about yourself using emojis.

RAINBOW WARRIORS UNITE!!! (photo by @tiibet) It is coming up to that time of year again where MFC will be celebrating Pride! Last year I had such an amazing response to doing the Pride parade video, I couldn't believe the messages I got, everyone was wonderful! I hope fans are prepared for this year too! I've discussed a few ideas with @dcdeb and we would love to do a live Pride Concert! You heard me, LIVE! More information regarding how to take part and dates are TBA. For now I would like to gather enough interest to make sure that this idea can become a realit…

I think all the national entries have been chosen now, so please post videos/comments. I can't say I'm wildly impressed by the UK entry (but then I didn't think much of Sam Ryder's song and look where he ended up )

I have recently re-read Aki's Mikafied version of the poem Night Before Christmas (which is awesome by the way!), and I was inspired to Mikafy a song myself! If you are of a creative mind yourself and wish to Mikafy other well known songs too, then this is the thread for you! (You can find @Aki Celeste 's poem HERE) I recently watched My Fair Lady and ended up with the song 'Get Me to the Church on Time' stuck in my head for a long time afterward. I slowly started changing the words to be more Mika related and after some time I had my own Mika version of the song! If you don't know the original you can listen to it here: Youtube - Get Me to The…

Back in 2013, Mika posted this statement when he learned of some bullying/harassment that was going on among fans in the online community: "It has come to my attention over the last few months that some members of my fan community have been behaving badly towards others - call it whatever you want, cyber-bullying, name-calling, internet harassment, being nasty. I have never and will never agree with this conduct. There's nothing I respect more than my fan club community both at shows and online. I do not condone any act of bullying amongst fans or to members of my team. If you're someone who does that, you're no fan of mine. Therefore I respectfully ask everyo…

Happy start of Pride everyone!!! Which also means it is time for MFC Pride! This year for MFC Pride I would love to get LGBT+ Mika fans to come together and share why a particular Mika song means so much to them! To do this I would like to create a short film. Think of it as a virtual pride parade where we will be celebrating who we are and the influence Mika has had on us. If you are part of the LGBT+ community and would like to participate (or know other fans who would) please film yourselves explaining how one of Mika's more LGBT themed songs has helped or influenced you. To avoid fans a…

Hey all... Several years ago, a German fan Isabelle @EzPz_german_squeezy created a server on Discord for fans to talk about Mika in real time. She asked me whether MFC would like to be involved, but I didn't have the time to truly focus on it. A number of fans joined, but the conversations have not been very active. Fast-forward to today, when I finally feel like I have some time, and have been thinking that Discord could be a great way for us to all interact. Just as background, Discord was originally developed for gamers, who use it to talk with others while they're playing. In recent years more and more communities have b…

I just watched a series recommended by Mika: Big Little Lies. Currently, I'm reading the book which he mentioned a few times, " The Tao of Pooh" I really enjoyed both the book and the series, and I'm just wondering what you discovered after it was mentioned by Mika. Any interesting books, movies, artists? I saw his old Instagram post where he talked about JoJo Rabbit - that's next on my list.

War in Ukraine 1 2

So today Zelensky has officially declared that Ukraine is at war. What do you think of all this? Will other European countries and the US go to war to defend Ukraine? I wish that peace would finally return. No sooner does the pandemic seem to turn into an endemic and then we are already riding towards the next catastrophe. It's still early and the war has only just begun and maybe it won't last too long, but unfortunately it doesn't look like it will be over soon at the moment either. Why? In any case, we should travel and do things as much as we want in the near future. Who knows what will be a year from now?

So I’ve been thinking about what Mika has said – or what I’ve heard he’s said – regarding his experience of the music industry, and how he’s learned to carve out a place for himself, his style, and his sound. I then came across an article in The Atlantic (available here – sorry about the paywall!) that discusses how “old music” (e.g. Bowie, Springsteen, and other mega-stars from the mid- to late 20th century) has overtaken music from newer artists in terms of revenue from catalogs, LPs, and downloads from the internet. The gist of the article seems to be that it’s partly due to a risk-averse climate in which record labels are deathly afraid of being slapped with copyright…

As we've enjoyed chatting about the various customs associated with Christmas and Epiphany in different countries, I thought it might be fun to discuss more customs/festivities as they occur during the year. This includes different religious festivals, and national days observed in particular countries.

Hey fellow Mika fans! As a newly joined member who missed the deadline for the Christmas card exchange, I wanted to offer something for the holidays. Something that may ring familiar to most, or at least those of you who grew up hearing the Night Before Christmas poem. I tried to work in as many familiar Mika themes as I could, but if anyone has better revisions of lines to offer, I'd love to hear them! Anyway, here's what I've come up with so far: ’Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the land Not a creature was stirring, except Mika’s fans. The jackets were hung in the closet with care In hopes that Mika so…

After the bad news about Corona and Omicon, I think it's time for something more cheerful: Christmas! And what better day than the first Sunday of Advent to start a thread with Christmas 2021? So share here all the Christmas traditions and what is usual for you during the Christmas season. I'll start with a tradition in German-speaking Switzerland: the Grittibänz. I went to do one with my godson yesterday.

A discussion and recommendation thread for books and films! Read or watched something that totally blew your mind? Can't contain yourself after reading something by your favourite author? Want to debate if the book is better than the film? Then this is the thread for you! Anything at all that you've been reading or watched on the silver screen, feel free to recommend it all here. I may have to restrain myself from talking about my own favourite books and author too much. We'd probably need another thread... Or another website! It's only because I can talk about these things for hours (which I have done! 😅).
