I absolutely love the energy in this one:

It also gives a really good idea of how TINY the place was and how close the stage (and him!) was :wub2:.

He even nearly killed us with the microphone that he dropped right in front of Nono :roftl:

It's so fun to hear you all singing along in this one! :roftl:

:roftl: What do you mean weird titles, it's the initials to the songs, hahaha.

Well yeah, but it's like "MVI BIOTG"

Looks weird :bleh:

Ooh I know that was very fun :punk:

It fell into my crotch and he wouldn't move it :roftl:

I think I held it up a little for him to pick up but he never did :sneaky2:

Hey guys. I'm new here and this show was my first Mika show, and definitely not my last.

I've got some pictures so I'll be happy to post and share my story :)

When I went to go get the tickets on Tuesday at the Beverly Glen park there were maybe 30 or 40 people ahead of me. My little group seemed to catch the attention of Andy, Mika's videographer and so he interviewed my friends and I about how we found out about Mika, and the gig and asking if he was popular in the states. When I went up to get my wristband and ice cream there was no sign of Mika, Andy was videotaping everyone getting their ice cream as well. I asked for a powerpuff girls ice cream (that's my favorite) and when I looked up to get it Mika had hopped into the van and was holding my ice cream out for me. I just about had a heart attack. He was very nice and I got a hug but then had to move on. I bet the video Andy got of that was priceless.

here's a blurry pic I got:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a269/Avababee/IMG_0829.jpg

I got in line at the show around 3 the next day and Andy came and found my group and interviewed us again before we were let inside. I ended up worming my way to about the third row of people much to the dismay of the people around me but I wanted to get as close as possible. The show as great and everyone was so respectful of the new songs so everyone could hear the lyrics.

Here's some pictures I was able to take, sorry they're not better:

After the show we went outside and Andy interviewed us again asking what we thought of the new stuff, and then my friends and I went and sat on the stairs at the side of the building for almost an hour trying to see if we could meet Mika. We were just about to leave when a woman came up to us and quietly asked us "are you here for Mika?"

We said yes and she took us back along the side of the building and I wasn't sure what was happening but as we walked past a large black van the door opened and out popped Mika. It was all very exciting and I couldn't talk for a moment before I got over it. We told him how much we enjoyed his new stuff and he was very humble saying "Oh really? Thank so you much."

He was quite soft spoken. We took some pictures with him and when I asked if we could take a funny picture he laughed and said, "No, my face is already funny looking to some people." It was pretty endearing.

After that we got some stuff signed and said our goodbyes, it was the best first concert experience I could've asked for :)

here's some pictures of my friends and I with him

I'm the slightly unfortunate brunette.. haha:

You're welcome.

Andy's quite adorable so I don't mind. apparently they're making a documentary, not sure if it's just on this two day event or what, but it was cool that he got us consistently with a beginning, a middle, and an end.

Andy's been making a "documentary" for a very long time now :naughty:

Now that you're a member of MFC he'll probably shun you :lol3:

Re the bolded part: :shocked::shocked::shocked:.

It's official, I must be an alien. I just don't get it. I don't mean to sound rude or offensive, but did you not stop to think for a minute that these people who you cut ahead of also wanted to be as close as possible, but just didn't want to be unfair to the others? We started queuing at 10 am for that reason.

I'm officially gobsmacked.

I understand where you're coming from completely. I guess I didn't really realize that. I'm used to going to shows with pretty hardcore people who push and shove really violently to get to the front; as far as I was aware no one has ever expressed any real problems with it and it's always been expected for me. I realize now that Mika is definitely a different crowd and next time I'll try not to push forward. Thanks for calling me out, and I'd really like you not to think of me in a negative way now :/

haha, well then maybe they'll be finishing it up sometimes soon.

Is Andy not a fan of the MFC? How is that possible?

:original: It's ok, I just felt that I had to mention it, because the queuing situation has gotten a bit delicate lately and therefore it's a bit of a touchy subject.

I can understand that you didn't think of it at the time with the excitement and all that, but I can't help but feel strongly about the unfairness of it and therefore brought it up. Anyway, moving forward, etc etc :naughty:

It'll most likely never be released :naughty:

You never know with Mika.

I think he's mostly afraid of us. :original:

Oh, all those reports sounds so amazing!

Eventhough I'm quite jealous I couldn't be there, because I live all the way back in Holland, I'm very happy for the ones who were there! :thumb_yello: Seems you had a brilliant time over there! Awesome! :wink2:

I love the new songs. I can't wait to see Meeks over here with his tour. *sigh* :wub2:

Aha

I think he was already slightly afraid of my friends and I, he really didn't seem to like the attention. I hope they put out the film! I would just about die to see myself in it even for a moment :)

:floor:

It's Universal Music Group making a copyright claim.

My guess - and this is just a guess - is that they're pulling the videos for PR reasons. They know there's going to be tremendous interest in this new album, especially since LICM did so well. And they don't want random music journalists or whoever getting ahold of shaky fan recordings of live performances and forming opinions about the new material, before media copies are released, and without giving it a fair listen. That's my opinion, anyhow. It sucks for the fans, but if that is indeed the reasoning, I understand where they're coming from.

:thumb_yello:

Though I love the videos and appreciate everybody's effort uploading them, I can't say I dissagree with Universal. I have watched them a couple of times each, but I decided to stop. I'm trying to save myself for the studio versions, so they will feel fresh to me. Am I the only crazy one doing that?

My GOD, that must be the longest documentary in the history of filmmaking!:roftl:

We have pretty much lost hope of ever seeing it:naughty:

Welcome to MFC by the way.:thumb_yello:

Yeah, I'd love to see everything he's filmed as well. But that's A LOT of footage. I'm guessing once Mika's official website is up and running there will be a bunch of videos in the archives.

I love this one, even though it's not clear... it's so close! He was inches from my face. I actually had to pull my camera back a bit so it wouldn't be right smack in his face.
