Just when you thought things couldn't get any better - they did. :mikalove:

This concert was fantastic. It was the same format as the previous two nights... Until the end. Then Mika did a reprise of toy boy as an encore.... Then Elle me dit... And this time we were all allowed to jump up out of our seats and join in... Proper Mika gig style:yay: it was brilliant.

Then afterwards we had an indoor m and g which was brilliant given the fact that we didn't really want to freeze our butts off. Mika spent a while addressing the group then did a bit of signing then had a group photo.

Thank you to Deb for managing to get this organised... I know it's hard going sometimes :wink2::huglove:

Amazing week with amazing music and amazing people.

Tonight's show was great. I cried. And the 2nd Elle Me Dit was super fun!

I don't really have any brilliant words to say but that I feel so lucky I was able to make it out here for these shows!! And lucky to meet so many amazing fans throughout the trip! Hope to see you soon, wherever it is Mika takes us!. :naughty:

:swoon: I don't have time to write a full report before heading for work, but i'll repeat what i wrote on FB

I, along with precious friends, had the privilige of seeing my favorite signer MIKA perform with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, 3 nights in a row. Pure pleasure. It was like hearing something so familiar for the first time. Songs were given a new life. How is it possible to get teary eyes to "Happy Ending", a song i've heard over and over for 8 years, i'll never know, but it happened. And that is so not me! These pictures were taken last night, the night of "The Last Party"

Safe travels to everyone on the Mika Fan Club, it was nice meeting you all. Now back to reality :tears:

Since I didn't have time to do a proper report after each show, you'll get a 3-in-1:wink2:

So... about 2 years ago, I went to see a concert at the OSM hall. The minute I sat there, all I could think of was: it would be so amazing to see Mika sing here one day... Knowing that day would possibly never come...

Anyhow, the day after, I wrote to OSM client service to thank them for a great show and suggest they look up into Mika because his music would mix well with theirs...

THEN, one February earlu morning, I woke up to my husband shoving me the front page of La Presse with Mika's face on it. Seemed was dream was coming a reality.

Fast forward to a whole year of waiting, daydreaming while looking at the OSM building (I see it from my office window) trying to imagine how it would be.

Then that first night came. A bunch of us when for dinner before but I was so stressed because service was slow... We finally walk to the hall and found our seat VERY close to the stage. Then Mika came, looking truly terrified and started singing Toy Boy. WOW! it was one suprised after the other, all beautifully sang and the music was flowing. That first night was perfect musically but compared to the others, it was the more formal. Although Mika loosen a bit towards the end.

Second night was better because everyone involved was much more at ease. And it ended much too quickly.

Last night, I was going with the intention of seeking everything in. I was sitting a bit further back and had no companion but quickly started talking with the lady sitting next to me with her son. It was his first concert and watching him enjoy it fully really melt my heart. That's the power of Mika's music.

Of course, being with so many friends was equally, if not more, fun.

Special thanks to Melanie and Roxane:huglove:

And I can't help doing a bit of non-Mika fanfurling because some of the pepke in the first row were sitting to one of my other favorite singer, Bobby Bazini, who really enjoyed the show.

I don't want this week to end but since it must... It was a blast while it lasted.

So I'm at the bus station already in preperation to see some bits of Canada. But all I can think of is that I don't want to lose last night's feeling :tears:

It was so lovely meeting so many new MFCers and friends I've gained throughout my Mika-time. You guys are a huge part of what makes all the travels worth it and I can only shout out a huge THANK YOU! :wub2:

Oh and there was Mika and three gigs with a huge orchestra, I think :naughty: What a special and amazing experience that was! Before the first gig I was a bit worried since the dancing, singing along and taking pictures is a big part of the ususal fun for me and that was forbidden. But oh, do even Mika's songs (they're great already!) win when played by an orchestra. That simply blew me away! I especially liked those songs that started off with just his voice and ended up with the orchestra on full throttle.

I've always liked Underwater for example. But when the whole orchestra, the choir, Mika and the backing singers play and sing its chorus it feels like a wave is hitting and catching you and you get pulled underwater yourself. I've never been good in interpreting music but this was just too good and well-done for me not to notice. Perfect!

Happy Ending made me admire his talent. I wasn't even as teary as many around me (I see you MFC! :huglove: ). I just admired his ability to sing and to feel it. I don't think he performed that much. Performing is something rather concious to me at least. He felt what he was singing. That you could tell.

And also I like the new songs. My favourite of those has got to be Good Guys. I fell for it as soon as I saw his proud chuckles when he noticed the audience's reaction to 'Where have all the gay guys gone?' To see him this at ease with himself and his lyrics makes me really happy! And oh I love the start of this. Some songs like Good Guys, but also Boum Boum Boum and EMD had a beginning that just got you. You were right into it. :fangurl:

I'm so looking forward to the new album I can't even describe it. And I need a tour! I don't know how often I told that yesterday to several people. I'm sorry if I got annoying at one point. :naughty:

I had missed Mika perform. A lot. I really hope that this special week wasn't a break of his performing-break, but the end of it!

A special thanks again to Deb for organising another great M&G and for the precious self she is :wub2:

And to the MFC in general: I hated to say good byes. But as bad those were I hope we can expect the coming "Hellos" to just as good! :snog:

Edit: Grinning at the station when thinking of this week. The others must think I'm mad :naughty:

I filmed a part of Mika's 'speech' during the m&g. If I get to work at my computer and the wi-fi is stable enough I'll upload it during my bus ride. This wasn't just to us lucky ones being there but to all MFC ;)

Here's my report from last night: 3rd night started with a visit at Grevin Museum. We were a group of 16 persons, and it was a lot of fun! :-) The wax person inside, taking most of our attention, was examined closely, and passed through as accepted! :-) In fact he's very well done, after they gave him a proper wig! The flashes went hot inside, I think MIKA would have laughed if he saw us. After the visit I joined 6 persons for a nice lunch at an Irish pub. The food was good, and the chat nice - thanks to you all :-)

And then, very excited, and in due time before the last concert started, I went to the big center across the street of the arena. There I again met MFCers, we really have been all around the city these days!:-) My seat this time was on the 4th row, right across Ida And Max. She was again lovely dress, like a Queen! Next to me came Sunshine and found her seat - perfect! Thank you for being my nice co. And translating most of MIKAs french words to me! -:) Tonight he had his blue suit jacket beautifully decorated with hearts! The setlist was presented nicely with a little chatting in between, something he was " allowed to" - because it was the last night, people laughed and enjoyed themselves. "Heroes" again gave me goosebumps all over, and got standing ovations. So did "Last part" which has been growing every night. And "Good Guys" just has to be a single! I can only agree with RayaBadran when saying that " my all time favs" from each alb. has been performed, in the best possible way, given a new dimention. MIKA is such a performer, and in this setting we got every word, without disturbing screaming and whistling. People listened carefully, and only gave their reward in between the songs. I could hardly believe my ears when he started off with Toy Boy for the 2nd time! What a bonus! And the song that people here love "Elle me dit" brought the audience to a climax, when being allowed to sing and dance along - aawwww what a "HAPPY ENDING" !!!

But another bonus was waiting for MFC - we should meet our man backstage!!!

I have carried a gift for him in my bag the last 3 days, just in case I should be lucky enough to meet him, and now it really happened! So the parcel wasn't the prettiest thing any longer, forgive me MIKA for that - it was the only way I could make it, but I assume that the gift itself was in good shape. I got a thank you and beautiful smile, with the words: " I'll open it in my dressing room" I also thanked him for these 3 amazing nights. Then he signed my tic for 12th, with a heart and his name - I guess I'll have to frame it -:) Thanks a millon Deb, for making this happen!! :-) you're the best!! :-) I'm so happy I could deliver it, and hear MIKAs "thank you speech" to his fans, he really appreciate us !!! What I gave him was a black handmade tie, decorated with some of the pattern from our national costume, from my part of the country, colorful curls/roses. I hope he likes it! -:)

Then it was time to say goodbye to everybody, with a lot of hugs and thank you for 3 amazing days! It's all been like a dream - out of this world :-) :-)

And now it's out in the sun, for sightseing, before leaving Montreal tomorrow...

Love,love

me

Third report....

S Q W E EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Blame that on Vero, she told me to do that:mf_rosetinted:

So i was sitting wayyyy back for this one, on a balcony.. its the only tickets i could get:aah:

Mika was blurry, but the ensemble was breathtaking! (they also had sold too many tickets and had to add chairs beside me :teehee:)

Mika seemed really in his element for that one! Every song was great, and he was so cute and more at ease. The audience also felt more relaxed yesterday somehow

Its funny how at the beggining of songs you could hear people doing like "ooooooooohhh ahhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhh" hahaha!

Elle me dit and BBB was a big hit again (Doriand was close to me and looked SO PROUD!!!! it was adorable)

Happy Ending killed us all

I cried at any other world... it has always been one of my favorites.

Random moments!! (part 3)

-Mika said he could talk more this time because it was the last show haha

-The introduction to Happy ending was soooo nice.. He said that when he went to music college, they were 5 students in the class.. a 6th one arrived very late with leather pants and chewing gum... PEople looked at her. She took her gum off, sang a few bars of mozart, and put her gum back into her mouth and that was it.. He knew he liked her right away.. That was Ida.:wub2: he said she was the only one who knew his secret, that he didnt wanna sing opera, but write his own songs. So they recorded Happy Ending.. it was such a lovely story.

-He mentionned Doriand being in the audience and that while they wrote BBB skyler was there and she said "even americans understand that!" and it ended up on the record, like her voice.. then they wrote Good guys

-He said this show wasnt just about him, it was about the musicians but also people in the audience like his family, especially his mother (people awwwwed) cause she was the one who took him to opera classes

-at the end, people kept clapping and stuff...and he said "so every night, we keep coming back for the applause, but we cant just like improvise stuff... but tonight we prepared something with Simon Leclerc(the conductor) Thats why hes so good.. well do a song i always mess up then another one. He did ToyBoy (he never messes it up hahaha dunno why he said that but it was cute haha) And then he said "ok, so we cant clap during songs because it messes up the musicians.. and when Simon says something, we listen:teehee:, but nothing forbids us to dance!!!" he started emd.. people started clapping... and it never stopped ahhaha mika couldnt even hear himself sing hahah then he was like OH NEVERMIND hahaha and kept singing and dancing with the whole audience and clapping. It was SO COOL! seriously!

ok, i might have forgotten a few things, but thats what i recall so far

Thank you to Deb for organizing a small m&g... it was so lovely :wub2:

the dream is over now... going back to work and reality, but thankful to have been able to live in the special place for 3 days.

It was especially nice to meet everyone... i can now put faces on nicknames!! :wub2:

It has indeed been a very special week. I don't think there has been a time before when so many MFCers have been in the same place for so long. To be able to meet up and do different things together...even if it was only have a meal... Has been great. We all lead busy lives and to have had this very special week has been a truely unforgettable experience. Thank you to Cath for planting that seed at OSM - a very good move indeed! :thumb_yello::huglove: and for help and advice re travel/accommodation etc. Thank you to Guy for organising the party :huglove:. Thank you to Deb for her tireless work on our behalf. Thank you to all MFCers who made this week such fun and of course thank you to Mika. He may have taken directions and made choices which some of us aren't happy with but it's his life and he is still the incredible, amazingly talented singer that I was blown away by eight years ago. :mikalove:

Thank you Roxane for your 'random moments' as it has helped me to understand some of what Mika said as I don't speak French. :thumb_yello:

Rox forgot something in her random monents then: he also said Jodi Marr was in the audience and explain what she did for him at the beginning of his career

Thank you everyone for all your reports from the 3 days. I finally could read them all and I'm so glad that you all seemed to have had such a great time listening to him performing with the orchestra :wub2:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, pictures and recordings. You spread so much joy that I didn't even feel sad of not being there. Of course I'd have loved to be in Montreal, no question, but my general feeling is that I'm glad that something like could happen, that Mika had the possibility to do it as it's clearly something that lies at his heart, that all went so well and that a whole bunch of people, MFCers, other fans and "normal" people enjoyed it.

And of course I'm very happy about the information that the audio was recorded. Even if we don't have any further information, I don't think he'll bury a record of such a special thing in the cellar and we'll get a CD or something (maybe as Bonus like Sadlers Wells? A girl can dream :teehee:)

I've tried to write reports but I just can't seem to find the right words so I give up ... I'm too overwhelmed by everything that has happened this week :blush-anim-cl:. As some of you already know, my life has been full of sh*t the last two years and sometimes the only thing that kept me going was the thought of going to Montreal to see Mika and to meet so many MFCers. Although I knew these gigs would be special, they totally exceeded my expectation. And it was not just the gigs, it was the whole package including meeting and spending time with other MFCers in a country that was totally new for me.

So I just want to say thank you to everyone I met and spent time with in Montreal. You guys made this week extra special for me. And a big thank you to MIKA for giving these incredible gigs. You all gave me so much energy (even I'm totally exhausted right now :teehee:). Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone. :flowers2: :flowers2: :flowers2:

Have a safe trip home everyone and I hope to see you again soon.
