  1. I'm moving Eriko's video here , because at some point Mika explains how he wrote this song in 15 minutes as a sad/funny postcard He also says that it was his idea to have a duet and he asked Soprano if he would be interrested to join

  7. My feelings are always stange when it's this kind of songs. Basically, I like the song. It's catchy, full of joy, nice. But it's not the kind of things I prefer from Mika. I had the same feeling with Elle me dit (well... I think I prefer when he sings slower songs in french). It may be nice, but it's not really Mika. I know he can make a lot more better, like he made with MNIMH. What bother me is that with that kind of songs, people doesn't see him for what he can really make. Well, that is up to him, after all, it's his decision, and I complain about his single's choices since the 2nd album

  8. So maybe he'll give the credits to his son

  9. Yeah you're right , this song may introduce Mika to a younger public . My nieces who are 11 yo and their friends love Soprano's songs and I'm sure they will love " Le coeur holiday" , and that there is a good chance that it will be played on radio. I also think that it may be a good concert song ,at least in Francophon countries, because the chorus is easy to remember and at the end he can change the town's names to please the public

  10. Well both new songs grew on me after I caught a glimse of the videos and concentrated on Mika's voice They can't compete with My Name is Michael Holbrook songs that take me straight to heaven, but they are nice summer songs. I think those collabs are good for introducing Mika to more people in both countries. I often listen to skyrock which is urban/rap music based (especially for US rap and R'N'B because apart from a few exceptions French rap is not my cup of tea) and they play Soprano songs a lot and I felt sad they didn't play Mika because lots of young people listen to Skyrock a

  13. Yes, unfortunately, as much as Karin and I liked the other font, is was proving too hard to read. So I've switched it back to our former font, called Roboto. Let me know what you think. I've darkened the text as much as possible in most places, and while we still have a few things to tweak I think we're nearly there. Please continue to give feedback!

  14. Just one day with the MFC 2020 theme and I'm used to it. I don't miss the old colors. The forum looks elegant. I love soft colors. Very successful. Congratulations!

  15. Exactly that. I can understand the special meaning it has for Mika, but that's just because I tried to find out what the lyrics mean, which I suppose most non-French speakers won't do. But apart from that, it's nothing more or less than a fun summer track, like there are dozens on the radio. Which is cool though, it might get him radioplay, I'm not worried that all Mika songs from now on will sound like this, and it's a much better option than hearing nothing from him for months.

  16. I think it was live but on the screen it was written Rome. Yesterday he said that in the morning he was in Tuscany, and that he woke up at 5 a.m. And that he spent the day in the studio of Toto (the italian actor). I think that he went to Rome to film something (maybe one of the videos, I remember one story about it) and he also made the live interview with the bbc and recorded the interview for the Canadians.

  17. You're right of course! I didn't mean that I don't care about the quality. And I meant that a duet won't make a bad Mika song. To me both songs are good and I like them. And even more I'm happy we got new stuff.

  19. The thing is that I can't figure out what he is exploring here.... he said so many times that he doesn't like to do collaborations with other artists and considering his huge experience I suppose that he is aware when his voice is not compatible with someone else's ... the only purpose of this experiment seems to be the commercial one, probably will be promoted at XF and the Italian radio stations will play it as well, but again this is just me

  20. I'm really loving this song! I actually woke up with it still in my head 😄 Has anyone seen the films Rio + Rio 2? Le Coeur Holiday wouldn't be out of place in those films! For me it seems to have a Latin American feel!

  21. Thank you for this! I’m so grateful for translations. I can read French (like, eh, 60% 😅), but listening is so much harder 🙈

  22. I understand what you mean and a big part of me also agrees with you. But that’s why we are all Mika fans and love his specific sound 😊 However, I do think that him being a musician and just a lover or music in general, makes him curious and want to explore different styles all the time, I’m sure. I just draw this comparison: I love drawing, portraits are my absolute passion, but I also like to explore cartoon style and illustrating and even abstract. I may suck at those things, but I like the variety and it broadens my horizons in other ways that are not directly visible in my drawi

  23. Not sure if it's important to get new songs, no matter how those songs are... there's singers who release songs every week, songs made from different composers that have nothing to do with their artistic identity...I know I prefer to wait more and get genuine good quality music, but this is just my opinion of course

  24. This version is soo awesome. It's running on loop the whole time. I love it 😍❤️ Edit: I cannot say the same about the French song. Because it did not appeal to me at all. Maybe I just have to give the song more tries until I like it sometime, but when I hear it, I don't get that energy I usually feel when I listen to MIKA. As a cover I think it's actually really good and I really like it. The other song could be a pop song like any other song and that somehow doesn't distinguish MIKA's music style. I don't know what you think about it.

  25. Wow, this analysis really hit home. It would make so much sense, with Mika saying the song has a lot of meaning to him. Now I feel a bit better moving my body left to right when this is on 😊😆

  27. Of the two singles, this is the one I prefer. I think Soprano's voice works much better with Mika than Michele's, and the tune is more memorable. But I think both songs are quite bland, there's nothing that would make me rush out and buy either. Looking forward to the animation though, from the clip I've seen

  29. Yes, he says he is in a hotel room in Rome, the st. Regis hotel. I think he recorded this on the same day of the BBC interview about Lebanon. He is dressed in the same way and the bbc interview was broadcasted from Rome.

  31. It was my first thought as well, commercial reasons. Both songs sound like the stuff that's on the radio these days, that's why mostly I don't listen to the radio. He said he doesn't like collaborations, he said he isn't good at doing covers and that he can't write songs with a huge team of writers and producers, and at least for the French song, there's quite a long list of writers. Still, I'm not sure if it's purely for commercial reasons. He also said he's constantly challenging himself, trying out new things, doing things he's scared of, to stay the "enfant terrible". Also, remember the "

  33. There was a pic on IG around Mika's birthday where Yasmine was holding a baby, so it could be her. I have only watched a few bits of the interview so far, but I read from others that he said that one of his sisters was pregnant, so that's where this comes from, in case anyone's wondering. A new member of the Penniman family, congrats to them!

  39. Well both songs grew on me especially thanks to the videos If I concentrate on Mika's voice only I like them a lot better. ..like nice summer songs but nothing like My Name is Michael Holbrook songs as far as taking me away.. But collabs are good so Mika gets more radio TV and media coverage. If those songs reach a wider audience it is a smart move.

  43. @carafon thanks, I had been wondering if the first lines refer to crying, it very much makes sense this way. Those first lines speak of such a heavy heart, even just reading them my heart feels heavy. And then the song shows a way out of it. And that is this Soprano part of the song where it gets superficial and commercial. I love the depth of Mika's songs & lyrics, and because I know his music, I can understand also the rest of the song, it's the same topic as "Elle me dit danse", as "even when I'm sad and feeling bad, I'll get the whole world to celebrate" (live intro 2012/13 to Celebrat
