Ah, I love Nightwish! I loved their stuff with Tarja and their newest album with Annete(sp) as well.

LICM is currently no.1 on Top albums of all time list!
FairyFeller replied to paula.pop's topic in Mika News and Press
LICM is a great album, but I think people shouldn't really take that poll too seriously. Look through the list and you'll see multiple entries by Girls Aloud and even a Jonas Brothers entry in very high positions...I'm just sayin'... -
I've just added MIKA_OBSESSED and musicfreak to the member's list in the first post of the thread. ...I've not been around in awhile, but I should be here more often now. So what does everyone think of all the awesome albums coming out from great classic rock bands? I love Whitesnake's 'Good to be Bad' and Asia's 'Phoenix' and I've just picked up a copy of Def Leppard's new album. I'm also looking forward to the albums Michael Schenker Group (Schenker used to be a guitarist for the Scorpions) and Queen + Paul Rodgers are releasing this year.

Haha. Simon is awesome. He called her something like that, yes. I think she sang 'Proud to be an American' just so the judges wouldn't trash her. ...And am I the only one who thinks that Paula is overly medicated?

Whoa, an Archeology thread?! I'm getting ready to change my major to anthropology and archeology is probably going to be the area I choose for my focus.

I can't stand Kristy! Out all the contestants, she's really boring.

What song are you listening to? - Part 6

The Deeper the Love - Whitesnake -
Really looking forward to the album and tour. (even though the word is that they probably won't get around to touring in the States until next year) Word is that the album is going to be either 'Rock the Cosmos' or 'The Cosmos Rocks'...I really hope it's the former, because the latter is pretty awful.

I wouldn't really trust Q's articles on Queen, as the obituary (if you could call that piece of garbage one) that they did on Freddie after he died was the most vile, contemptuous thing I've ever read. That said, I think it would have been pretty easy for the others to believe Freddie was not gay, as Mary Austin was his girlfriend until the late 1970's. Post-Mary, however, I think the others caught on.

There's a few Aerosmith songs I really like (Dream On is one of the greatest rock songs ever) and Steven Tyler is an awesome singer and frontman.

He really does! This is the first time I've actually ever seen any of the Queen guys' kids.

The Official Freddie Mercury Rememberance Thread
FairyFeller replied to my_rainbow_radio's topic in General Chin Wagging
I'm pretty sure that the Borat guy isn't going to be playing Freddie. The Hollywood folks who are behind the film (I've heard that Robert DeNiro is one major source of support for this biopic) wouldn't allow it, and if they plan on having a Queen Productions approved movie, then they had better look elsewhere, and from the looks, of it, Johnny Depp is the one who the role will go to, unless they go in a completely different direction and pick an unknown actor in the lead with veteran actors in support roles. -
Sorry for taking so long to reply - anyway, its the Hammersmith gig from 1975. They did another one in 1979, but I think the recordings from that show are super rare. As for location, check your PM's.

I just found the bootleg of Queen at Hammersmith Odeon, and it's amazing. I hope that for the next Queen live cd/dvd that they re-issue, they do that one, because there just aren't enough early-ish Queen official live releases.

Album of the Week #4: Heaven and Hell - Black Sabbath 1. "Neon Knights" – 3:49 2. "Children of the Sea" – 5:30 3. "Lady Evil" – 4:22 4. "Heaven and Hell" – 6:56 5. "Wishing Well" – 4:02 6. "Die Young" – 4:41 7. "Walk Away" – 4:21 8. "Lonely Is the Word" – 5:49 I figure since Halloween was only a couple days ago, I'd do a dark album for album of the week (Its not really that dark, but it seemed appropriate ) Anyway, I chose Heaven and Hell, Sabbath's first album after they fired Ozzy Osbourne and brought in Ronnie James Dio. Personally, I think the Dio years are far superior than the ones with Ozzy, simply because the level of songwriting and vocals is amazing. Dio has a voice that can shift from a sneering growl to an operatic croon. (he sounds like Freddie Mercury in the middle section of Die Young) The album also housed the title track, Heaven and Hell, which is, without a doubt, one of the greatest rock/metal songs ever written. It starts out as a slow churning piece with a constant bassline, punctuated by the crushing guitar riff after each verse, building up to an end section which speeds up drastically, and Dio's growls and croons combine to amazing effect. The greatest metal album ever? Perhaps. Certainly in the top ten. So I highly recommend this album.

I love Annie Lennox! I mainly like her work with Eurythmics, but I bought her newest solo album recently, and I like it a lot.

Me = very jealous of you. Those are two of my favorite bands, and I plan on seeing both of them live eventually. I'm betting that Matt Bellamy didn't have any trouble singing live.

This looks interesting, since this tribute has a lot of tracks that you wouldn't normally expect to see covered. I really wanna hear what Andrew Stockdale does with the Tie Your Mother Down cover, since Wolfmother kinda 'borrowed' the riff for Woman. But the idea of Clay Aiken covering Queen makes me ill.

There's a Queeniac Facebook group? *runs over to join* And there's 60 Queeniacs? The Nasty Queenies are taking over!
