  1. me tooooo!! i saw half of it and rushed to Google. Anyway, to stay on topic, umm... Zooey Deschanel. Quirky, fun, very talented. Oh Sienna, does that make him the chocolate of his fans' dreams?
  2. That's great for us Montrealers, but isn't he a little way too big to be in that Festival??? He sold almost 1 million albums!! Sunshine, remember he was going to go to La Fureur? His management took some ... hm... questionable decisions for Quebec. I guess this means we won't see him at Osheaga - plus, he's not in any official artist list there.
  3. LOOOL! He actually thinks Mika's doing the female voice in Happy Ending?? Hilarious!
  4. Hey!! Canada's a million things, but Quebec's especially confusing. Living in Montreal, some ppl (like me) forget both English and French but become fluent in FrEnglish - you've been warned! Oh and try some poutine. I can't (hate cheese!), but it's a Quebec staple. French fries + cheese + gravy!
  5. LOOOOOL That killed me!!! Imagine Mika with a moustache!! If he did grow one... I'd ONLY listen to his music. On my computer. So as to not even glance at the album cover. Happy to see he's got his priorities right... because I think Freddie may be the only person able to pull off a black & white unitard with cleveage. Or could Mika too...??? Oh I must banish these thoughts
  6. Ruubbiiiiiish!! Mika met with a lot of music companies. He was asked about Cowell so he spoke about him. He didn't hint at anything... However, Cowell's great at self-promotion, and if it isn't the media going on a limb with this one (like they often do), the whole thing probably originates from him, to get publicity and to get back at Mika for slamming him in the Attitude interview (Teletubbies... lol Guy'll do anything for $!) But the whole thing backfires beauuuutifully lol - "I don't even remember meeting him" he doesn't realize what this means for his reputation - here's a guy whose job is to make money developing promising singers and he can't recognize a hugely lucrative Chart-topping star talent? Can't even remember him? Ouch...
  7. YEEEEEEY!!! He's getting gigantic! So happy!
  8. Thanks for the scans! He's a great interview. I checked out the Attitude website, and I might start reading gay mags from now on, they seem far more fun than Vogue and Elle!
  9. Do you think the tickets will sell really fast?
  10. I don't think the article is positive at all, the critic is not impartial and he obviously doesn't get the music ("not a sad cord?" it misses the point and belittles the album... i believe another author quite brilliantly summed it up as "technicolor tears") ... The piece is a subtle bit of "artistic assassination" (Brian May has the best expressions..), acknowledging that there is some good stuff but that it wears out quickly ("vomit-inducing"? you can't buy wit like this). That's code for "one-hit wonder, that's all, folks!"... Shame, I loved the beginning!
  11. I've got a serious issue with the photos!!! This is Mika, technicolor "psychobabble" pop, and the models frown and pout like they're in iD magazine posing in Japanese intellectual designs. The contrast is so weird it's funny. I've got nothing against pouty models, but a is the only thing that would go well with a Mika concert tee!
  12. That's right! Amazing show, but no Johnny. The videos are indeed great and we are indebted to their brave & ingenious makers
  13. He did it first in Toronto, not in Montreal. And we did not get the cute animal costumes, either. Why, cruel fate? How are we supposed to enjoy our Lollipop without the furry props? That being said, I love the song, thank you very much. I can't wait for some sharp ear to discern all the lyrics!
  14. He did?? That's BRILLIANT!! LMAO!! Never believed it for a second myself... but my friend was sure! Mika, you were asking for it though...
  15. Il y a une chose qui m'a accrochée, vous avez mentionné Jean Paul Gaultier. Vous voulez bien dire le couturier? Juste m'assurer. Parce que si c'est le cas, c'est absolument formidable. Cet homme a une énorme influence. Mika's quickly making friends in high places...
  16. Perez is a rather fascinating phenomenon, and seeing as we've pretty much created him, hating him is such a drag... He's funny and pretty smart, and his stance on outing gays, however you might see it, has been pretty brave. Would he let a crush sabotage his hard-earned credibility in gay politics? Only time will tell. However, there's no reason to hate him, apart if you're a nasty celebrity. He never really picks on nice people... and there's method to his madness. Oh and come on, he's got amazing taste in music!
  17. It'd be like a two-for-one concert where they'd listen to all the songs... Then Mika and Jake would do a falsetto duel... and Elle Woods would step in as Mika's attorney. I hope they'll be selling tickets!
  18. As a law student, I can say it's impossible to win on something like this. If they do actually sue, it's 100 % for publicity. Riding the Mika wave. Sort of pathetic. Mooost probably untrue
  19. Hey, don't forget that this is just an estimate released on Wednesday. His album had debuted a day before. I don't know much about the industry, but I wouldn't call this an exact science. So relax for now!
  20. Just wanted to share the good news! Mika magically sprung up 5 positions, from #7 to #2, in the fourth week since LICM's release. It's #1 in Montreal! http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/Charts/ALBUMS.html It is at times like these, fellow world citizens, that I feel proud to be (sort of) Canadian! Now back to schoolwork... P.S. Grace Kelly is at #3 in the Singles sales, up from #10!
  21. Mouah! Good night everyone! I love these get-togethers!
  22. So happy he sang Lollipop!! Can't believe he had the guts to say "whore" on American TV!! Impressive! He doesn't care much about adapting, totally being himself... Let's see how that flies! So cute!
  23. I actually liked Jenny, she was so funny and carefree! Good match with Jim Carrey!
  24. Haha this is hilarious! If I ever hear a 6 year-old singing Lollipop I'm gonna DIE! Wait a sec... when I'm having kids, they'll surely listen to Mika in the house... a dilemma arises... Oh who am I kidding, there's no dilemma, I'm going to have a Lollipop-singing kid and be an amazingly cool parent!
