Hi, everybody ! I'm sure Mika is able to developpe a 5 octaves tessiture. He is what we call in the bel canto a falsetto or a sopranist. The sopranists are able to use their voices by two ways : the deep one, which is a normal male voice since bass to tenor ant what we call a head voice, as when men try to imitaite ladies voices. It is easy to do that for kidding, but for a very few men, it becames an art. Normally, everyone uses a throat or a chest voice, but the falsetti use a head one, very high, and they are able, differently from the guys imitating ladies for joking, to sing very well with it, and, in certain cases, very rare, to play with they head voice in better way than their normal one, and, finally, the head voice ends becaming their normal one ! It is the reason why when Mika speaks, he has a normal male voice. The particularity of his vocal work appears only when he sings. Like Prince, or the Bee Gees, or Freddy Mercury and others falsetti in pop and funk mucsic or disco, but the sopranists and falsetti exists also in lyric singing. A long time ago, falsetti were created by a cruel ablation on young boys. I don't know the English word for that, but they took young boys before teenage, and they cut their gonades... In Frech we call the poor creatures "castrats". heavenly, this practice is not allowed now, and our modern artists are intact !!! But the way they train their voices, the way they use them parmit them to use the castrats repertory ! There are also hormonal causes who can explain, in a very few cases, this particularity. But Mika, Prince, Bee Gees and the poor and regretted Freddy Mercury seemed normal in that way ! When all theses artists speak, they speak whith normal male voices, and sometimes, very bass, in the case of Prince and Mika !!! In fact, they discovered their head voices and the way to use that ! But, my little Mireille, this is not a scret that y ou're totally mad about our petit Mik, as I call him ! And imagine Mika singing Edith Piaf, what an idea, Zahara ! But in fact, you know, the story of "Milord" is for a female singer, because it's the story of a prostituate secretely in love with the richmem she sees sometimes.... And one day, this men she called "Milord" had a heartreake so she said that she would be a consolation for him, his secret lover ! But the song is so nice, and the story very emotive. It is the case of all Piaf's repertory, what we call in French "La chanson réaliste". Realistic song in the way of describing feelings and stories from popular people and poor people, in a dark, very sad mode. If you want suicide yourself, this kind of songs is the good solution !!! My dream is to hear him in oriental, arabic songs, because he is Lebaneese, and he would sing the opus of Oum Khalsoum, Fairuz, and all others oriental singers with a very very big talent, I'm sure ogf that ! I would make an exception for "our Mika", as you said ! And, for more explanations, i'm more from the evening or the night that the morning...This maybe the explanation about my strange comportment in the morning... For me, the day begings after 11 AM, and ends around 4 AM, because I'm insomniac since my childhood, and I don't want to take somniferes or anything else like that because I would be afraid becoming a drug addicted ! My God ! What funnies stories ! I've not this kind of problems... It is very hard for me to awake, and I can't bear radio or music or any sound early in the morning... So, I take my breakfast in a religious silence, ant it is just AFTER, in the bathroom, I put on music to awake me during my shower and my dressing up !!!! In fact, I would be near to kill someone if my breakfast get burnt !!! :naughty: I've a very bad humour at awaking, and it is since my childhood... A Prince's song titled "Solo" where the Purple Highness gaves all his vocal tessiture in a fascinating melody ! If Mika could sing that, it would be so wonderful... As he got a falsetto's voice, he could sing all opera baroque repertory written for castrats like Farinelli, and he would be great in this kind of things, because he has a classic formation as musician but as singer too... Mika singing opera, how divine it would be !!! I imagine him singing Barcelona, too, and all Queen repertory ! And he makes everything he does a pure diamond, instead his name is Mika !!! Goodbye ! I love english. Since I was child, I had a real fascination for Anglo-Saxon music because I loved rythm, melodies and, moreover, the feeling, the groove and fun also the swing that English gives music and songs ! It's the reason why I lurnt it at school. The English sonorities seemed to me so musical, and when I hear a dialog in English, I find that its sounds like music... It's a very interesting language with innovations, creativity and a rapid evolution. In fact, every language has his charm, but the best one for music and dance, for slamming and rapping is ENGLISH !!! So, I like to be here, because I improve a little this beloved language, and you know what ? If French is a wonderful language for novels, theaters, poetry and love, German for philosophy, by exemple, English is a very practical language not only for songs, but sciences, theatre and cinema too !
