  1. She said in another story that it was a joke, just the same truck company that reminded her of Mika. Possible.
  2. Aww this sounds so fun! I'd love to be there, just to replay that scene from the movie.
  3. It's Venice! Hadn't expected that. I wonder what he's doing there... do we know who the man and the woman in the boat are? And same. I missed seeing posts that are clearly by himself, and not by some faceless social media manager like the posts during the gigs, while Mika was on stage. I'm ok with Adam filming, like the stories from Berlin - then at least I know who it is... but the best is when it's obviously Mika filming himself. He can have someone from his team post updates on his website, or on X and Threads and Tiktok... but Instagram, to me, is for the connection between Mika and his fans, the most connection you get as a fan who can't travel to every gig. I mean, if he wants to use IG only for promo purposes and join MFC instead, to interact with us more directly, that's fine for me too... I just don't see that happening.
  4. And maybe we can also use this thread for general tour reports/thoughts/discussions that are not about a specific gig, but about the overall impression. We already have the setlist discussions https://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/36804-apocalypse-calypso-tour-setlist-discussions/ but of course the tour included a lot more than just the setlist.
  5. Hmm, I don't know if he played MAEP, but BB was surely later, because the piano was there: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C51dyJLNOsn/?igsh=YXJ1dWh4N2xlMG1n

  7. I saw a video of Billy Brown, I think mikafamily did a live of it... I wonder if he played that instead one of the other songs, or in addition... (and why is this setlist full of mistakes?! wouldn't they just copy/paste it from the older setlists?)
  8. The Apocalypse Calypso Tour is over, so we're removing the list of tourdates from the front page... but to give you an easy overview of where to find the reports thread for a certain date, we've listed them here. If you were at one of the gigs and haven't yet told us about your experience, please do so - we love collecting all the memories of this wonderful tour, so anyone who wasn't lucky enough to attend those gigs can share our experiences from afar. If you took any photos and videos, feel free to upload them in the reports thread, or leave a link to where you've posted them on social media. Thank you, and enjoy reading/looking through those memories, as every gig is a little different. 26.02.24 Clermont-Ferrand / Zenith REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 03.03.24 Bordeaux / Arkea Arena REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 03.03.24 Lille / Zenith REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 04.03.24 Rouen / Zenith REVIEWS / PICS /VIDEOS 06.03.24 Rennes / Le Liberte REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 09.03.24 Nancy / Zenith REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 10.03.24 Strasbourg / Zenith REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 12.03.24 Reims / Reims Arena REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 13.03.24 Tours / Palais des Congres REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 15.03.24 Dijon / Zenith REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 16.03.24 Annecy / L'Arcadium REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 18.03.24 Grenoble / Le Summum REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 19.03.24 Lyon / L'Amphitheatre 3000 REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 21.03.24 Montpellier / Le Zenith Sud REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 23.03.24 Marseille / Le Dome REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 25.03.24 Paris / AccorArena REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 26.03.24 Esch-Sur-Alzette / Rockhal REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 28.03.24 Geneva / SEG Geneva Arena REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 29.03.24 Amsterdam / AFAS REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 31.03.24 Brussels / Forest National REVIEWS / PICS / VIDEOS 02.04.24 Berlin / Tempodrom - NEW VENUE! 9. That's so cute! thanks for posting, I hadn't seen it before.
  10. well, I think most people didn't complain about his French setlist, but only about the international / UK one without all the French songs. If he based his decision on a combination of timeliness and streaming numbers, which probably is what AI would do, then the French setlist for France and the old LICM one for the UK make sense. So my comment might have been a joke, but I wouldn't completely exclude that it might be the truth - whatever he based his decision on, it surely wasn't what most of his dedicated fans wanted. And the rest of the crowd probably was fine with it, but he could have convinced them of his newer songs as well. The crowd in Dublin went wild when EMD started. Anyway, I'm digressing - we have the setlist discussions thread for that... As for the interview, he says some things that I absolutely agree with ... but some of it is probably more wishful thinking than reality. He has really good arguments for not being a perfectionist, but imo he still is, even if he tries to tell us otherwise. As I said on some other thread, this detailed rehearsing "to then lose control live" is maybe what he wishes to do, but I'm not sure he manages that second part of it. To me, his gigs miss the spontaneity and yeah, well, the imperfection of what his concerts used to be like. There are moments, rare ones, but you can see that he tries to avoid it. Like when in Berlin he thought the German translation was taking too long and he said "this is like a bad dream" - you could see he was really uncomfortable and wanting to get out of the situation - while at previous tours he would have joked and laughed about it. And at the same time he said in some of the interviews that he likes, even needs, destabilization. He also said he likes the banners by fans and he likes that they destabilize him ... but when I had a banner in London, asking for 30 Second(e)s in any language, I had the impression that he looked annoyed for a moment when he read it. That made me feel bad and I decided I wouldn't draw any banners again, I can use my time for better things than making him and myself feel uncomfortable. Back to the interview... I think he answers the above problem with the second quote - maybe without realizing that this is the solution. Apart from the fact that the interviewers questions and Mika's replies mix Social Media and AI as if it was the same thing: What distinguishes humans from AI and from each other on social media is their uniqueness. And if you are yourself instead of trying to be perfect, I think THAT makes you less attackable - because no one can argue with you defending to be who you are. They can try ofc, the haters WILL try, because someone who stands out instead of being a copy of everything else (which btw reminds me of the animated GK promo video from 2007 with the pop star factory) will get attention ... which is the currency of the internet. But only you know how to be you, so if you dare to be yourself and show your uniqueness, anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is automatically wrong, they have no clue what they're even talking about. However, I get that this isn't easy, especially for someone who has a lot to lose. And then, you have to know who you are and not change your mind every day (well... ok if that is part of your personality to change your mind every day, you can even own that, lol! ) - but especially not listen to other people who think you should be like this or that. If you do that, of course that makes you more attackable online, no matter if you're trying to be yourself or trying to be perfect. Dunno if I'm making sense, lol, sometimes the thoughts are so clear in my head but putting them into words doesn't work. I agree with him on that, and what he says before, that music is love, openness, solidarity. So well, I would say the values transported in music (but also in other art) is what can save us, and to me love is at the center of this. If there is enough love in the world, hate can't win. That's one of the reasons why I was so keen on hearing Tiny Love or 30 Secondes at the gigs, because these songs are so full of love and positive energy, and I need much more of this instead of "no hope no love no glory" (tho Happy Ending ofc is a beautiful song, and at least it has "a little bit of love" )
  11. Mika doesn't eat a lot of sweets, and in fact I wouldn't know that they are a problem for the throat or the voice, unless you eat far too much of it, or if you eat something like chocolate right before singing (but this was after the show, not before). Ofc it's not good for your health in general, but one piece of cake (and I'm not even sure he ate the whole piece, it might just have been that one bite) isn't a problem if it stays the exception.
  12. Yes, that's Andy, but please have a look at our forum guidelines - we don't post unofficial pictures here of Mika's family and friends, so I've deleted the photo. https://www.mikafanclub.com/mika-fan-club-guidelines/ Happy you enjoyed the gig!
  13. As for the setlist, I guess mine would be something like this: 1. Dear Jealousy 2. Bougez 3. Origin of Love 4. Ice Cream 5. Jane Birkin 6. 30 Secondes 7. Platform Ballerinas 8. Rio 9. Pick up off the floor 10. Karen (82 Rue des Martyrs) 11. Promiseland 12. Good Gone Girl 13. Passager 14. I went to hell last night 15. Touches You ENCORE 1 16. Je sais que je t'aime 17. Tiny Love 18. Love Today ENCORE 2 19. Un soleil mal luné 20. Stay High (with balloons and confetti!) Assuming that more than 20 songs is unrealistic (although I planned in some more slow songs, where Mika and the crowd can relax a bit in between the high energy songs), I think that every night he should exchange one or two of the songs on the setlist above with one or two of these - a different one every time, so it stays surprising. Step with me All She Wants Tah Dah I see you Oh girl you're the devil Ordinary Man Who's gonna love me now My Interpretation Stuck in the Middle J'ai pas envie No place in Heaven Well, in fact my setlist is unrealistic anyway because he'd never skip GK and Relax. And this 2nd list are the songs that I wanted on the setlist as well but threw out to reduce it to 20 - but I'd really love him to have some sort of a "joker" song every night that keeps changing, so we can get to hear songs that he played never or rarely or very long ago.

  15. If you're ever bored and want to skim through the 188 pages of this random chat thread where we keep wondering where Mika is (if he's not on tour) and sometimes it seems he reads it... Well, you never know, but he said he watches the MFC lives (probably the replay?) and recently in Brussels he said "I see everything", so I do think he has an idea of what's going on, on this forum as well as on social media. Maybe that's why we got Jane Birkin in Berlin. But that he knows doesn't necessarily mean that he listens to us. 😅🙈 I'm sure he's sometimes like and quickly closes the app when he sees some of the things his fans write.
  16. He went in the crowd for Jane Birkin tonight! Has he been spying on MFC again?
  17. This user has posted a few IG stories: https://www.instagram.com/margaux_freak?igsh=MWM2OWphcWRjNzkzNg== Edit: and also Nina (mikagigs) and Mara (mamy3037).
  18. Ha. Now that we're talking about that, I'd love the band to be Tim or Martin on guitar, Jimmy on bass, Cherisse on drums and Mitch or Luke on keyboard. On the setlist I'll have to think a bit.
  19. Just finished uploading them all. And wrote a few words about some of them. I don't feel like writing a report, at least not now, as I'm trying to distract myself a bit from the post gig depression... sometimes I enjoy talking about the gigs to help me deal with it, but right now it feels better to me to just upload media instead of writing about my emotions. Still tired from the journey & too many emotions to sort them.
  20. I just uploaded the video of it in my earlier post... at about 2:18 you can see it. it was more shaking his head than headbanging, but the intention was clear.
  21. I don't know if you saw it from your place, but he actually "headbanged" his sweaty hair towards the crowd below him at some point, so that was fully on purpose!
  22. Racist comments are not tolerated. I see the author has already deleted her post herself, otherwise we'd have done that. I don't know if you and @Joanjettkinnie might want the quote to be gone from your posts as well - if you do, feel free to edit or delete your posts, or we can do it if you prefer that.
  23. I finally decided that I won't be going to Warwick, so I have a spare ticket (front circle) for that gig. DM me if you're interested.
