  1. thanks minnie! i guess mika should do his set more often in the afternoon, it's much easier to take good pictures when it's not dark.
  2. the festivals he's doing in france might help a bit as well. and i bet he'll do more promo when he's there.
  3. i LOVE this interview, thanks for posting! it's so good to see him so happy! and i also love what he has to say about music piracy - i agree with every single point he says! there's so much discussion about it in the (german) media atm, because of ACTA, and because of a relatively new political german party who call themselves the pirats and want to reform the copyright law. and in this discussion, i've read interviews with german artists who say that people have to be forced to keep on buying music instead of stealing it, by blocking all ways how people can steal music, etc. - but mika just has a very realistic view about it, it's absolutely true what he says! i illegally downloaded his first album, before buying it, and before buying a concert ticket - and i've bought every single cd (or music download, if it didn't come out on cd) he has released ever since! and the other side is also as true, those people who think it's ok to steal music and never buy it are wrong. although i think some of them do it because they hate the music industry as such - they want to support an artist, and not the record companies (they don't understand that not buying any music is the wrong way though...). i think this was one reason why GK was so successful, because it was a song that pointed a finger at the music industry, and many people could relate to that.
  4. no, but i could order more. hasibobberle has made the design for the shirts... i don't know if she has time to order some more, but i think we can send you the design so you can either order them from a shirt shop, or print them out on iron-on foil and put them on the shirts yourself.
  5. some of us are planning to wear "hibbeling for love" shirts and heart-shaped glowstick glasses for this gig again, like we did at lovebox (see our pic in mika's facebook photos from lovebox). since mika was on so early in london, the glowstick glasses didn't make that much sense there, but i think in vigevano it'll be better. of course anyone who wants to can join us. (in case you're wondering: "hibbeling" is a german-english word creation by statue, hasi and rose, and means: )
  6. same here. i only know since sunday who she is because someone told me at lovebox - never seen or noticed her before either. iirc she pointed out to mika where his fans were waiting for him... so yeah, maybe she *is* the new john!
  7. no problem. i think that was the moment when i was wondering how i should best ask him about the damn celebrate lyrics, but couldn't remember the line before the ones i don't understand. edit: btw, any ideas for this one?
  8. he came to meet us after his lovebox gig, yes. in fact i did even remember that i wanted to ask him about the lyrics, but i was struggling with the words... couldn't remember the line "i say only if it's better" at that moment, so i first had to think of another way of formulating my question before talking any rubbish, and when i was finished thinking, he was already gone. i'm just too slow. the interview is in the news board, a french video interview with cherie fm, the translations are there too.
  9. he's probably fed up with us accusing him of giving his old clothes to his band, so he puts his monogram on to show the difference. or he's fed up with his band always stealing his clothes. is it?? that's great!! congrats!!
  10. everyone would melt when they're with mika, no? i like your explanation! (in fact it was just a dirty stage floor that he kneeled on... ) you can never be sure with mika... here's what i have on one of my photos, and i remember he hugged this guy:
  11. thank you statue, love them! and also thank you everyone else for their photos+videos+reports - aww, all those lovely memories!
  12. well, i realized that there was a sad note to the lyrics, because of the "once i get up i feel better, then i pull myself together" part - but i thought it was because of longing for a feeling of home, not because of a break up. reading the translation of the french interview again though, i guess it can be both - i mean, you also say "i feel at home when i'm with someone" - so after a break-up you lose this feeling, makes sense.
  13. sorry, i was dancing. actually i filmed it mainly because of that lyrics part that drives me nuts because i don't understand it. i wanted to ask mika about it after the show, but of course forgot. in that other french interview he said the song is about a break-up. what i thought of when i heard the lines "i wanna go home (...) where the trees i planted grow" was this one interview of him where he said that because he was always travelling since he was a kid, he doesn't have this one place that is home for him, he doesn't have that tree under which he had his first kiss (or something along those lines)... so my thoughts were that the song is about change being his "home" - that's why the lines i suggested made total sense to me. but well, if he says it's about a break-up, then i guess i'm wrong. i would've liked it though if that had been the topic of the song. edit: just read your new post... hasi told me in london that she also understands something about outlaw. pfft, i really think we should just ask mika what he's singing!
  14. looking at his lips in the video, i don't think he sings "would lead nowhere"... but with the line before you might be right... maybe it's "being hurt like this forever, for me no way!"? i wish it was possible, but you can't buy mp3 downloads on the french amazon site if you don't live in france. and it's obviously not released as a cd single.
  15. what i understand since lovebox is "be and act like this forever, for me no way!" - does that make sense? i tried to focus on his face for this part in the first and second verse while filming celebrate, maybe someone can try to read from his lips. 16. i also was a bit worried, but after seeing him live on sunday, i'm not anymore - he's still the same old lovely mika, just with a bit of added computer sounds in his new songs. hey, it's the 21st century, computers are everywhere! and with straight hair instead of curls... but i bet that was just because it was a 30-minute-gig... i'm sure that after an hour the latest his hair would stand in all directions again. actually there were not many mika songs that i was impressed with immediately... the only one of them that was actually released as a single was grace kelly - so i trust him that on the album there'll be something that will knock me off my feet, like touches you and PUOTF did on the last album. after all, there's karen (if only on the french album), it belongs to those few songs as well. and maybe also underwater, i'll wait for the recorded version to decide that. celebrate grew a lot on me since i first listened to it... it's fun, it's good for partying, and i love it live (and seems like the lovebox crowd loved it too). i think once mika has performed the 2 new songs live a few times and has tried out some things re. what works and what doesn't, they'll fit perfectly in his show so we won't even notice anymore how different we first thought they sounded to his old music.
  17. i just uploaded my photos: http://s778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/mikafanclub_de/2012-06-17-Lovebox/
  18. hi as well. thank you. yeah, we saw you all taking the pic, it looked like a nice scene - happy to hear that the pic turned out good! yeah, i can well understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea, i also get a bit fed up with it if i do several gigs in a row, especially if it involves getting up early. but even if it wasn't really queuing this time, i think i somehow need the excitement of rushing to front row the moment the doors open, guess i'm just an adrenaline junkie who prefers this to bungee jumping... anyway, yeah, i'm sure we'll meet again at the next tour, whenever that might be.
  19. thank you everyone for the photos+reports+videos! hi suzie, i didn't even know you'd be there! shame you didn't come over to say hi, would've loved to meet you again, it's been a while. lol... i probably wouldn't have posted about it if i had written my report one day later... but i'm glad i wrote it the same evening when everything still was fresh, so i'll know better how i really felt, when i read back the report a year later or so. yeah, i posted it on twitter, here: http://twitpic.com/9x50r1 but it's also on mika's facebook, nina took a pic of hasi+mariposa+statue and me with our shirts - hasi made the design and the others had their shirts made, but i a) don't like wearing white shirts and b) prefer handmade stuff (or in other words, i always think, "well, it'd look good if i...", totally underestimate how much work it is, and then end up thinking "WHY DID I DO THIS?!" ) aww, i'd have loved to meet you too! damn, i'm really bad with recognizing people from photos, or when i just saw them once... also wanted to say hi to eloise and mair, and i did even see them, with their painted faces, but didn't recognize who they were, although i had seen them at the mfc party in january! only when i saw the pix posted here, i was like it was THEM! treasa i also only just recognized because someone told me who she was - although we had met before. btw, who were the 2 ladies who were with treasa and also took one of the heart-shaped glasses each? at least now afterwards i'd like to be able to add names to the faces. and mikita, is there a photo of you from the festival somewhere? so i can see if i've seen you... ;-)
  20. yeah, you're right, i mixed it up - the radio promo tour was in july, not june. i wonder whether he'll do some radio promo for celebrate while he's on the festival tour...
