plus currently uploading the vids for lollipop and kick ass by graciosa - nice for those who were on stage. :wink2: that'll take a while though, can't convert the format so i have to upload the big files like they are.

  2. i don't like the weather forecast for friday. at all. cold (10°C which feel like 6°C), windy, rain showers. the wind forecast says 4bft, which it has in munich today as well, and believe me, this looks very uncomfortable for going outside, let alone being outside all day. i'll definitely wear my winter jacket, scarf, gloves, and bring my sleeping bag to sit on/in and warm my legs! :aah:

why can't we have queuing weather like in paris again?! :tears: it's may! i thought it'd be warmer now! :sneaky2:

  3. why do i have the feeling that we're arguing, although that wasn't my intention at all? :teehee:

about being a mod, good point, i didn't think of that. :wink2:

and again, i don't wanna make excuses for people saying bad things or spreading rumours about anyone, that's not ok, in any case. but you can feel jealousy (or call it envy/curiosity) without becoming mean, but it's not a nice feeling - and it may even cause you to more easily believe in false rumours, even if you don't join in spreading them.

but actually, all i wanted to say is that the secrecy doesn't just have positive sides - and as long as you know that - and i think you do -, but simply for you the advantages are stronger than the disadvantages, of course that's fine with me. :thumb_yello:

about the half a story thing... of course it's not your fault if it somehow comes out. but what i don't like is if people tease with bits of information. like saying "i saw something" but not saying what. then don't say you saw something, y'know what i mean? this is not directed at you, but a general observation - maybe about things like that BG experience you mentioned, idk, haven't read it. :wink2:

  4. It still looks like Monopoly money to me, too! Our gulden was much nicer!

to me the gulden always looked like monopoly money. :teehee: they were so colourful! :naughty:

good luck to the irish/uk people who are planning to come! really sorry for you that you have to fear again because of that damn volcano! :huglove: swim across the channel if you have to! :teehee:

on the german news it says that the weather forecast suggests that the ash cloud will affect ireland and the northwest of the uk until thursday, and then move away towards the atlantic. so at least it doesn't look like it'll stay forever, like the last time, and even in the worst case, those who are affected might still be able to catch a flight on thursday evening, or friday during the day, if the weather doesn't change.

anyway, for those who are flying from within the european mainland (if anyone is...), it says on ntv.de that due to the weather conditions this won't be affected by the ash cloud in the next 5 days. :wink2:

  5. There are a couple on ebay, but they're so over-priced

thanx for directing me to ebay! i didn't think of that! used to buy stuff via ebay all the time a few years ago, but haven't used it for ages now. it's fab that you can get mika's singles as cd's on there! just bought a copy of kick ass, and one of BIOTG. :wub2: especially love the biotg one, it's just a one-track-single, but it's much cheaper than the version with the remixes, and it includes mika's cover artwork, that's in fact what i want!! :fangurl:

of course i downloaded KA as well, so far on 2 websites, and will do it on itunes as well, as soon as i've installed the new itunes version (mine is ca. 3 years old i think... :blush-anim-cl:) - does anyone know if it helps KA for the charts too if i download ISY and BIOTG from the single, and the KA videoclip? did that on the amazon website, as i wanted the BIOTG live version, but not on the other site.

finally went to see the movie kick ass today, with a friend, in the afternoon... there were only 5 people at the cinema altogether, and in the end when mika's song came on, it was just me and my friend left. but at least she said that she liked kick ass more than any of the other mika songs she knows. :biggrin2: couldn't convince her (yet) to buy the single though. :teehee: but she said she might buy the soundtrack, as she likes many other songs of the movie as well.

quite enjoyed watching the movie, would've thought it'd be worse regarding how much blood you see... you always see it for just one nanosecond if people get killed, so it's ok - it's almost a bit like "hot shots" (i think it was in hot shots part 2 where it said at one point "bloodiest movie of all times!" :naughty:), not as silly, but still the brutality is brought across in a kinda funny, ironic way. don't think it'll become one of my fave movies, and won't watch it again at the cinema, but it was nice to watch once. :thumb_yello: and it was really fab to hear mika at the end of it, so proud of our boy to hear him as part of a hollywood movie in a big cinema! :wub2:

  6. I think you're right that it's a vicious circle and that secrecy leads to more jealousy which leads to more secrecy.

that's all i really wanted to say with my comment. it just seems sometimes that this comes totally surprising to some people, that not only jealousy causes secrecy, but also vice versa. :wink2:

But taking me, Sara and Mana for instance...the prying and the judgemental reactions by others came BEFORE the secrets.

Those posts in the MWS forum regarding the acoustic tour are a perfect example (sorry I'm not trying to belabor that incident, I just want to use it as an example). Sara and Mana were not keeping secrets about what went on during the acoustic tour. In fact it was their proudly telling MFC what they had been doing that prompted people to openly gossip about their finances, their relationships, their motivations for going to gigs, etc.

Before this I discovered that several Mika fans I had no contact with were stalking my MySpace on a regular basis (and the profiles of my friends). A troll made an account on Twitter and started harassing me. I was not hiding anything from anyone. In fact I was not even doing anything! I had never even met Mika at that point and I hadn't been to a gig in a year. But obviously some people decided that my business was their business because we both happen to be fans of the same pop star.

When strange Mika fans are publicly gossiping about you and surreptitiously stalking you on the internet...do you think it is prudent to continue broadcasting all your experiences in a public forum? Experiences like going to a party with Mika or helping him build his set? I'm sorry but there are people who have demonstrated time and time again that they can't handle the truth and suck out every moment of joy you might otherwise get from sharing the story with those who would like to hear it.

sorry, i don't know what happened on the acoustic tour (apart from the london party, but i think what you mean is something about the paris gig?), i didn't follow the mfc as closely during that time as i do now, and i don't know what was posted on MWS, as my french isn't good enough to understand it. maybe they even posted stuff about me at some point, but wtf, i don't know them, so why should i care what they say? "why don't you like me or walk out that door!" :naughty: there were enough rumours about me to fill a book, back in the days when i was following other bands - but i believe that if i'd had the chance to publicly state MY point of view on all these things, like it is possible nowadays thanx to the internet, that a lot less people would've believed those stupid things that were said about me.

of course there are always some people who just don't want to hear the truth, but enjoy causing trouble wherever they can. but i dare to say that most people on mfc aren't like that, and so i personally don't share your point of view on this. but of course i don't wanna judge you for it either - if for you it means more pain than joy posting those things on mfc, because a bunch of stupid morons ruin it for you, then ok, i can understand where you come from, although i personally wouldn't let this bunch of people stop me. :wink2:

But you know it's not just the planet painting. There are things that happen and things I hear that I would never ever discuss on MFC. There is such a thing as discretion and any rational adult should be able to understand and respect that without getting paranoid that you're up to no good. In some cases I've been explicitly told not to talk about things so I don't have much of a choice.

of course i know this, the planet painting was just an example. like i said, there definitely are things you have to keep secret. like, if i found out anything about mika's private life, or were asked to keep something secret, i certainly wouldn't go posting it on mfc (or anywhere else). but the difference to me is, either you keep something secret. or you don't. but the problems start where half a story is told, and the rest is up to everyone's imagination.

Jealousy is (perhaps) natural. But the behaviour that stems from it is not acceptable. Every time these arguments come up about suspicions and secrecy everyone tries to justify their behaviour by claiming that their feelings are justified. But your feelings do not justify appalling behaviour like talking trash about people in public or accusing them of doing dodgy things to get to Mika.

If your husband cheated on you, you might be so angry that you want to kill him. But the law is not going to let you off the hook for manslaughter just because you were justifiably angry.

generally agree, and i certainly don't want to justify the behaviour of those who spread stupid rumours or talk badly about others. but i wonder why you bother about it being publicly - do you prefer people talking about you behind your back? if they can't do it publicly, that's what they will do instead, sad as it is. and then i'd personally prefer if it was public than behind my back, because then i would know it and could answer to it. the best option of course would be if everyone just told you to your face if they have a problem with you, or keep their mouth shut completely. but sadly, that's not reality.

  7. Voice problems? Not nice at all... But no wonder, six shows this week and traveling every day/night is definitely hard work and a tough schedule.

and not to forget the short-sleeved shirt in paris at the m+g... :fisch: no, he isn't cold because he had a couple of glasses of champagne. :aah: the guy really needs to be taken care of by a babysitter sometimes! :sneaky2::naughty:

  8. by mariposa via twitter:

Met Mika.John said Mika couldn't talk because of some voice problems. But he talked anyway.Only ca 25 ppl.

aww, poor mika, he was already so tired in nice, and now even voice problems...

    edit: and more by mariposa:

Great moment of the gig:All of the 10.000 ppl singing Happy b'day for his sis Zuleika :-) She wasn't there though.

    :wub2:

  9. suzie, the problem is that john obviously wants the number system to be exclusively for mfc, or at least mfcers first, and then all the others, no matter what time they arrived. and if you have to be on mfc to get a good number if you arrive early, then i think this should be communicated on here very publicly, and not hidden in some gig threads where no one will find it. :wink2: that's all i meant, not discussing details or anything.

in nice it wasn't that much of a problem, if it was just about 10-15 mfcers. but if it had been 50 or 70 (like in amsterdam), and 3 or 5 or 10 non-mfcers who have been there before them had to go to the back of the queue, it would've made a much bigger difference.

  10. wow! first of all, to the last post here, suzie, i agree with you but if i understood it correctly, in this case the husband was queuing since the morning as well. :wink2:

then, humphrey, thanx for clearing things up. i didn't even realize that mfcers were blamed (i don't read the french forums), just read that the queue was reorganized, and here on the thread it sounded to me like it was the fault of the french universal people - but very interesting to hear that it came from john, and that he had thought it was always just mfc.

yes, mfc is the official forum, but like some said on here already, it doesn't make sense for everyone to join mfc, like, if they can't understand english at all. then i think at least the website navigation etc. should be available in different languages. :dunno: what sense does it make if we have lots of nominal members who never post at all and just become a member so they can get a queuing number? and this "fan for one day" argument doesn't count imo, as those who aren't on mfc but post daily on the french forum aren't just "fans for one day" either.

and there's many more reasons why i'm not happy with this - some might not be able to join any forums because they don't have an own pc, or are too young, or don't have an e-mail-address (yes, we as internet addicts know it's easy to get one, but not everyone does...) - what should they do if they wanna be front row at a gig where 50 mfcers are coming to? or all those people who just don't KNOW of the mfc, or of the numbers system. ok that might only be a handful at every gig (of those who queue early), but i can understand that they're disappointed.

ok, end of ranting. maybe we should put a thrad on the front page news about the numbers system the way john wants it, in multiple languages, so at least everyone who visits the mfc has the chance to find out about it, and can for example tell their friends whom they're going with to join here? :wink2:

and a short comment about what caz+babs said about keeping some things to themselves... of course it's everyone's own choice what they say and what not, but it's a vicious circle really... you have secrets, people find out bits+pieces and get jealous or at least curious, thinking wow if it's such a big secret it must be really cool+exclusive, some just get on your nerves by asking lots of questions, others start rumours around the bits+pieces they know, you are -understandably- annoyed about that and tell even less the next time. or it starts with people spreading rumours, at whatever point you want it to start, but it's something that'll probably never end once it started. that's why i personally always prefer to tell everything, and although i've seen+met mika almost as often as sara, i never had any problems with jealousy and rumours so far. not that i know of anyway. :teehee:

like i said, that's just my personal opinion and the way i do it, it's up to everyone on their own how they handle it, and of course i know that some things HAVE to be kept secret, like the planets painting at first. :wink2: i'm just saying, i can kinda understand both sides - it's natural that people become jealous if they feel they miss out on something important - which in fact might not be that important at all, but they don't know if they don't have the information. :wink2: and about the rumours, well, of course i don't like that either, but we've seen how fast that can go, just based on a stupid joke, on the evening of mika's abu dhabi tweets. :teehee: it's just a matter of fact that lack of information - whether based on secrets or on language barriers or whatever - is a perfect breeding ground for rumours.

  11. btw, does he still talk about the puppet and stuff, even if he doesn't sing toyboy but la solitude instead? he always said it was his fave part of the show - and it was mine too, him sitting there at the piano, just talking+joking with the crowd and making fun with that puppet. :wub2: i'd hate to see that this part is missing now. don't care too much bout the song toyboy itself (the most interesting parts for me were only when he messed it up :teehee:), it's ok if he sings la solitude instead, it sounds beautiful - but i'd really miss the talking part. :tears:

i could imagine that he'll sing la solitude at the french festivals, he mentioned in one interview that he'd do cover versions at the festivals. :wink2:

  12. Audio had something wrong, anyway the show was beautiful as usual.

An old french song instead Toy Boy but with the usual puppet seated on the piano.

A lot of friends on stage as Lollipop and Big girls.

A member of the bad was hit a lot by his boss.

No Kick ass dance at the end, the music started too late.

Popstar very gentle to say hello to all the people waiting outdoor in a very well organized line.

    :bye:

cool, mfers on stage again then? i guess sara and danika, judging from all the backstage pix sara tweeted? :bleh: who else?

Napoleon stole your n ? :teehee:

    Jimmy Jimmy JIMMY :aah:

    I just :fangurl:

..when you  the fokker out of mika with the puppet wired to the bass :das:

...da mastah's vengeance was so fast & cruel tho :floor:

i would've guessed it was jimmy when i read allegra's post. :teehee:

    t4p! :thumb_yello:

  13. Please let me know if they are not working? Unfortunately they were not good quality.

they are working, thanx! :thumb_yello: sometimes the speed is getting slower and then faster again, but it's not often, and dunno if it's the video or my pc. :dunno:

thanx again, was fab to watch! :wub2: also what the band was doing during KA - i couldn't see a thing with that damn mask, it's worse than the BG heads! :aah: strangely, i think the lollipop/KA is better quality than the funeral march... which is weird, as it's much longer.

  14.

Awwwww, love them all!!! too bad some guy in a striped top was walking around in the background of one :sneaky2:

yeah, really, how can he ruin the whole picture?! :sneaky2::naughty:

my personal favourite is this one - when i started taking the pic, jimmy was still playing bass, but then when i looked at the pic it suddenly turned out that he had run his hand through his hair! :lmfao: looks kinda sexy! :das:

  15. Fantastic pics in this thread, thanks everyone :wub2:

I uploaded my vids of the Death March and Lollipop/Kick Ass to sendspace. They are not good quality and that's why I didn't upload them on Youtube, but I thought that maybe those people who were on stage want to see them.

    The Death March:

    Lollipop/Kick Ass:

I hope the links are working, let me know if not...

thanx! :flowers2: will download them tomorrow, too tired now.

  16. that's weird. at all the other gigs, numbers have been given in order of time of arrival, no matter whether mfc or not. ok well at the 2nd paris gig, the organization wasn't 100% fair imo either, as they stopped the list already at 80 (had been 150 the day before, which was ok with john) but then put some mfcers on the list who arrived later. was just very few i think who got a number later in the day, maybe 3 or 4, but still, this of course shouldn't be the rule.

in the end though, it's always up to those who organize the list what they do with it and how strict they are, that's a question of the personality of this person. :dunno: but sending non-mfcers who had been there earlier to the back of the queue certainly is something that everyone should be able to avoid! :sneaky2:
