"Montagne russe" is rollercoaster in Italian. Mika is tied up with Scotch tape while going down and up with the rollercoaster so he is not able to run away.

Thank you. And what does Mika mean by he has been following Naip from the beginning? Of course he has, from the beginning of XF, he gave him a yes and then Naip was in his team. Or does he mean previous to XF?

Anyway, the rollercoaster is true also for being a fan of Mika. :teehee: Just that I never felt tied up. :wub2: Definitely addicted tho. :naughty:

He said that he is following NAIP since the beginning, that sometimes he scares him( probably with his choices), then he works hard ( and proves his talent), that all this situation made him addicted and he feels like he was tied up with some sort of Scotch tape, put into a Montagne russe and going up and down all the time ( well, it sounds better in Italian :aah:)

Thanks, but I have trouble to understand this... What's a montagne russe? And which "he" refers to Naip and which to Mika? Mika feels like being tied up with Scotch tape because Naip works hard?

Am I the only one who likes him with the beard, it looked¬†good on him, it didn't make him look older ūü§Ē ūü•į

I hate beards in general. A bit of a stubble can look fab, but a full beard like this one, just no. Still, Mika looks as good as always with it, it just shows he can wear anything, even a beard. ūüėÖ Imo it¬†does make him look older - but as he usually looks like he's about 25, it doesn't matter much if he looks 10 years older. :teehee:

Anyway I'm glad the beard was fake. And so funny when it keeps falling down. :lmao:

The beard video from his dressing room must've been from a previous occasion tho, it was posted still during the show but there his hair is straight and he's wearing a different outfit.

Iitighiamo. Tanto, a voce alta.

Serve l'arte.

Ora a chi ti stai appoggiando?

    "MY SECRET IS LOVE"

On the eve of the X Factor final, the singer confesses with an open heart. Speaking of the mother-manager's illness: "He taught me not to believe myself better than others". And revealing the recipe that makes his couple work: "We fight aloud, we are able to discuss even 2 hours on mushroom risotto".

When I ask him about the future, Mika blows me away with an answer that tells a lot about him and the courage with which he has always faced life: "I choose not to be afraid. Relying on music, my art, helps me". After organizing a streaming benefit concert in September for Beirut, both his hometown devastated by the explosion at the port this summer, raising more than 1 million euros, the singer is also experiencing this second lockdown here in Italy, where he has returned after 5 years of sitting at the table of the judges of the talent X Factor, the Sky Uno show that on December 10 will decree the winner of the 14th edition. An # adventure that he faced with The enthusiasm and the affability he knows how to bring every time he takes the stage. Because art is what saved him from an early age, when the masters called him "stupid" without recognizing his dyslexia, when bullies attacked him because he was different ", when he traveled around Europe looking for work and sleeping in car with his family. That family that for him is a fixed point: three sisters, a brother, a father with whom he has rebuilt a relationship thanks also to the latest album My name is Michael Holbrook and a mother manager, bulky and wonderful, which left him free to become the star he is today and who is now facing a terrible disease.

How are you experiencing this period?

It's surreal. It is difficult to have the strength to dream. I find tomorrow disturbing, but I don't want to be a victim of it. There are also people in my family who have lost their jobs, but fear is a cage, while now, even more, we have to defend our freedom.

Are there ghosts from your past still present?

I have always feared not being able to remain curious, not being able to connect to music, art, but also to people. These are the things that make me happy and happiness doesn't come by itself, you have to keep it.

At XFactor you seem to have focused on freedom, with a team of eccentric talents, out of the chorus. Does art pass through diversity?

Yes, but also from transparency. When I go on stage or decide to speak in front of a camera, candor is essential. Instead in my personal life I am very reserved, I never appear in gossip magazines. I created a bubble around me to be able to live normally.

And normally you have lived in a stable relationship for 15 years with director Andrea Dermanis. Is there a secret?

There are two. the first is that we collaborate. In the important things but also in the banal ones as for the Ideal recipe of a mushroom risotto on which we can compare up to 2 hours. The second is that ... Let's fight. A lot, out loud. I have many friends who are amazed by our scenes, they hardly ever argue. Usually, in fact, they are relationships that don't last.

You are among the few artists in Italy who speak serenely about their homosexuality. Do you think it can be useful to those who feel "different" as it was for you?

It is very positive when a known person speaks of love, but it is not enough, it does not give strength to everyone. What it gave me was seeing Prince dancing and singing about sex, poetry, money and politics, with lightness and intelligence. Or David Bowie who rejected any stereotype about sexuality or Madonna who played with it and said that women could be of any type. Tolerance is provoked in a profound way, words or the power of celebrity are not enough. We need art.

    How is your art?

I am lucky to be able to get involved. I am 37 years old, it is the right time to do what life is forcing me to do: research, renew.

Without your mom by your side, do you struggle more?

There is disease and it is a very big thing to manage. But love is even more. And that's the only thing that gives me the strength to go on.

It has always been your point of reference. Now who are you leaning on?

We are the point of reference: me, my family, our best friends, even the collaborators. We all work a lot together. My mother is the person who created this love-based way of functioning. She created a crew that is now all around her.

He decided to make you "his project". Have you ever wondered why he chose you and not your brothers?

He did the same job on each of us. But he knew consciously that mine makes more noise and all his energy in building this project was the antidote to that noise. He always told me "You are no different from your brother or your sisters. And the type of work you do is different. But you are not worth a milligram more than them. If you don't remember this you will be miserable for all of your adult life ". He was always right.

Can I ask a very difficult question?

    Where is Mika now!?!

Maybe we'll see in his next story? Stay tuned........ :teehee:

Yesterday he was in Paris, apparently. It was said the Voice recordings would be Saturday and Monday, so he might go back to Italy today, or maybe tomorrow.

I guess we'll slowly have to get used again to not knowing where he is. What we had this year with the tour and then the pandemic, of knowing where about he is nearly all the time (except for the times when he fooled us :mf_rosetinted: and a few weeks in summer) is a big exception, usually he keeps hopping around the world and we have no clue, unless he tells/shows us.

I must admit I find it hard to get used to it again, somehow I feel that knowing where he is (at least which country :naughty:) intensifies this "communion of spirit", this feeling of connection between him and us, - well, probably not for him, but it does from my point of view.

Ah, so he's back in Milan, obviously they're filming tonight. But what? Seems to be more than just a Daily, with that outfit.

Edit: Ah, just saw it's an award show where Emma is nominated, thanks Anna.

What are they saying in that video? I understand something about Paris, but not much more.

So I wonder if there's no more filming in Paris tomorrow or if he'll go back there tomorrow. Is there a rule in Italy that you have to quarantine if you're in another country longer than 24 hours? ūü§Ē

Glad that we are all excited to see him back on the Voice,.After the tour was canceled this is a great opportunity to keep in touch with the fans, even though we'll have to wait until September 2021 :crybaby:to watch the anniversary season,.

Also, grateful for XFactor, it is keeping us busy

From the articles posted here, I understood that the anniversary season will be aired early next year, and will be shorter, and from next September there'll be the normal season? Did I understand that wrong?

Also, no one ever asks for it LOL but there's always a google drive link for the italian fans https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SSx8-SDpWZjVwEoPnsFmNqs8luAe8-Va/view?usp=sharing

(since youtube blocks the videos in italy)

Fab, thanks! Maybe you can post those here when the YT videos get deleted again? I wanted to save your clip on Twitter of Mika saying a few words in German at yesterday's live, but I was too late again. :aah: Have you tried if it works if you create a private account (on Twitter), so only those who follow that account can view the videos? I think it might even be possible on your normal account to make a certain Tweet only available to your followers (but ofc there you don't have control over who follows you).

Aww, that is so sweet. Maybe he didn‚Äôt feel good about the typo, but now everyone is going to talk about it more since he deleted it ūüôą¬†

Dunno... people are still talking about OM 2206 although he didn't delete it, so not sure what's better. For this story the sweetness definitely outweighs the typo, and his fans won't mind the latter, because we know he's not dumb, just dyslexic. Not all of his 1.4 Mio. followers are actually fans tho, so by him deleting the story, but not too early for fans to save it, we can fangurl about him being sweet and most random people who might criticize him for a typo just won't see it. :thumb_yello:

  10. Mika posted another story last night and deleted it later:

That's so sweet, I wish he hadn't deleted it. :wub2: :emot-sad: Probably because of the typo? Happy that some fans saved it before he deleted.

Btw in the time between the previous XF live and this one I got 4 notifications about Mika IG stories in the morning that were gone when I clicked on them. I asked a few other fans and they didn't get any, so I thought it must be a bug in Instagram, because a lot of things are messed up there since the last update. But after this deleted story in the middle of the night, that luckily this time got saved, I'm not so sure anymore. :aah:

  11. Mika IG story - getting his hair cut, singing "I feel pretty" from the West Side Story and wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving:

On Twitter, fans are discussing whether that's a pic of himself on his phone, and I'm wondering too... Thought so at first, but looking a bit closer, I somehow don't think it's him. :dunno: Any thoughts?

Anyway seems he's given up trying to get used to the Samsung phone. :teehee:

Edit: I think the pic on his phone is Elvis:

He writes Dressed. Ready. Let's go. :lmfao: tagging Maison Valentino, seems they're making invisible shirts now. :naughty: The emperor's new clothes? :lmao:

  12. Emma posted an IG story with Mika, can't download now, so only a screenshot of the video:

Edit: And 2 more stories, if I understand it right, of Mika doing some voodoo for revenge in Emma's dressing room? :lmfao:

    Screenshot_20201125-225054_Instagram.jpg

Btw, maybe that was the "cigar" she was holding in that other pic, one of her voodoo sticks? :teehee: Guess it's not much better tho to inhale that. Our discussion about smoking backstage... sometimes I really wonder if he's reading MFC. :aah:
