  1. Yes, I agree. It might be "Mika-French" instead of correct grammar, but double meanings aren't always obvious when you just look at the "correct" way of expressing something.
  2. If they're as good at checking as they are at creating a proper list of countries (which should either include ALL countries, or only France if they want to limit it to that), we might have a chance.
  3. I watched the livestream at 7 while preparing dinner, but hadn't seen the subtitles... dunno if they weren't in the livestream or if I just didn't notice them... indeed interesting to get an "official" translation - it's not "Free, I don't know how to do that", as I had thought, but "I don't know how to be me" ... and the "tant pis" in the 2nd verse also wasn't 100% clear in the beginning - although from something he had said somewhere recently (maybe it was an interview, not sure...), it had become clearer already. Love the aesthetics in this video! And the message - it's not really a story, as I thought it would be - but still it perfecly brings across this emotion of feeling awkward but then daring to express yourself, even if you fall. You just laugh and try again. With the dancers carrying Mika it reminds me a bit of the Good Guys video, just that it's not as confusing, it's much more clear and direct. When watching for the first time, I wondered why in the group shot Mika is looking at that girl behind him - but when I rewatched, it became clear, I think with that look he "asks" her to smile, despite her braces. And him dancing on the ice car in his green suit, awesome! It reminds me a bit of the Ice Cream video. Definitely agree with that.
  4. The best place for this question would be the Clermont-Ferrand gig thread, but as you also might be looking for a ticket, I'm leaving your post here. Maybe @FannySpina14 knows more about the venue?
  5. Btw, I listened to this interview as well but didn't summarize it, as I only understand half of it - it's so chaotic and they keep talking over each other's voices, with Mika's mic at a lower volume (or maybe he was just speaking more quietly than the presenters) that it was too much for my little French skills. 😅 The bits I understood were nothing really new. Something about faithfulness being important in a relationship (I think the interviewer interpreted his lyrics in a different way ), and from what I understood Mika had to recognize some celebrity by asking them questions (I think it was a former candidate of The Voice, but not sure).
  6. I've moved most of the posts about the Jane Birkin video to an extra thread, so we can continue discussing there. Copying this here from my original post, as it's related to that particular story: This is always so satisfying to watch how the surface of the ice becomes smooth again bit by bit... brings back childhood memories of excitedly watching the "ice cars". But also memories of impatience, having to wait for what felt like ages as a child for them to get finished and the ice to dry, so you can get back ice skating! Luckily the machines today are a lot faster than the ones 35 years ago. 😅
  7. He has one of those little plastic animals that children use to hold on when they're ice skating for the first time, that's so cute! It's an ice bear I think? Much looking forward to the video.
  8. Tbh, it annoys me what he says about not sharing the surprises. When I read the headline / text, I thought, ok, he's insecure, especially about this first test show, and he doesn't want people to judge him or the show before they haven't seen it for themselves. I'd have understood that. But that thing about keeping surprises, I really don't like that he tries to tell people what to do. Maybe he could say, don't post it in public, don't post it on social media, but only share it with your friends, if they really want to know. As a protection for those who don't want spoilers. I don't like surprises. I'm the kind of person who doesn't buy or read a novel before checking on the last page whether the ending is ok for me. And there is still tension and magic in a novel or in a film, even if I already know the whole story. In Mika's shows, even more. I wouldn't need to go to 6 gigs of the tour, if the magic was lost after the first time. It's rather the opposite, I can focus much better on the emotions if I know the facts. I know there are people who are the complete opposite and who try to keep offline, to not know anything about Mika's show before they see it for themselves. We've had this discussion before and we've come to the conclusion that here on MFC we're keeping spoilers to certain places (in this case, gig reports), so those who don't want to know it can just avoid these particular threads, and those who do want to know, know where to look. Well, whatever. I do hope that someone is willing to share news about the first gig with me via DM. It's already frustrating enough to not be able to go to the first gig, and to hear Mika talking about this whole big worldwide team who are working on the show and already know everything about it - but the prospect of not even getting to hear about it from other fans after the first show makes me sad. Just my opinion... there's no right or wrong in this, just the fact that people are different.
  9. Mika says first, that in Clermont-Ferrand it'll be the first time he's testing all the elements of the new show. Then he says that he always has this connection with the audience where him and them feel more free, less complexed, very different than in real life, and he likes that. As a preparation for the tour, he's exercising every day and he takes care of what he's eating. On the tour, it's also important to keep changing, doing different things, reacting to the audience. He talks a bit more about this and says there is no separation between him and the audience, to create a more intense energy, but I can't understand the details of what he's saying. He says his show has very conceptual elements, it's telling a story from the beginning to the end, and it asks you to forget the world outside for 2 hours. To enter a parallel world, aesthetic, graphic, with decorations and costumes. Many people are working on it, from France, from the UK, from Brazil, Canada, the US, Italy, Holland. Mika says there'll be songs from his whole career that people expect, but also new elements and surprises. It's a different universe, his universe. And the concept of the Apocalypse, a suspended world. And, as they wrote in the text, he asks the audience who's coming to this first show in Clermont-Ferrand to not reveal the surprises. And he knows it's unusual because normally artists would ask you to share everything and post a lot, and he asks the opposite. To guard the secrets for at least a few days or a few weeks. So the surprises stay surprises and the magic of discovering them is kept. He thinks it's more powerful that way. If I understand it right, he says it's ok to share moments, but not unveil the surprises. That's what he asks of the crowd, especially for Clermont-Ferrand. I think the interviewer asks him about his way of writing an album, and Mika says he doesn't write 500 songs to choose from them, but he writes for a certain concept, and then he has about 40-50 songs to choose from. He talks about why he wrote Jane Birkin and about inspiration for the album title (nothing new there). If I understand it correctly, the interviewer asks if there'll be a DVD of the show and Mika says he doesn't know yet. And then the interviewer says he's a dinosaur because he still bought a physical copy of the album on CD, and I think Mika says that's good and something like that the dinosaurs are more important than the streams.
  10. I guess posting the link to the story doesn't make much sense, unless you delete your post in 24 hours when the story is gone. Not sure what to do with these stories where he just advertises his own post, he's never really done that so far ... I suppose if he doesn't add any text / emojis except for the link, we can just ignore it.
  11. @Anilado still looking for a Strasbourg ticket? In general, please edit your posts if your tickets are gone or you found what you were looking for, add "sold" or "gone" or "found", or just delete. Thank you.
  12. Interesting example of distorted perception, because I only watch this because of Mika... I thought he had a lot more on his team already, and more than the others! In the review now I'm thinking, this Olema, something in her voice or of her way of singing reminds me of Bjork - and that explains why Mika loves it and I don't, never been a fan of Bjork.
  13. How many can each of them have? I liked the woman with the red hair. Not so much her high notes, but her lower voice is very unique. It reminds me of a German singer's voice, Annett Louisan, I listened to some of her songs quite a lot at some point. And I think she (the one in The Voice) looks like Disney's Merida. Very beautiful.
  14. Ah shame those 3 guys didn't get further, I loved them! Still not fond of that woman who was on before them and who chose Mika, her voice just doesn't click with me. Maybe I'll like it better with another song. Mika can't turn often anymore now, I suppose? He already has so many on his team?
  15. Who had asked for an Outtakes video? Happy to see that Mika listened! GICWmAA8cSkWkrkCAD6XTREWiCwbbpR1AAAF.mp4
  16. Great summary of the downside of being a Mika fan... Btw, you can edit your posts by clicking on the 3 little dots on the top right and choosing "edit".
  17. You're right! So that's why I suddenly had Sweetie Banana playing in my head after watching this clip! I remember that figure where he's dragging his leg behind him (In Germany it's called "fencer" ) took me weeks to learn when I first started. He's really just such a high achiever in everything he's doing. Make that 20 DAYS for him. 🙈😅
  18. He posted a few stories too. IG won't let me download his ice skating video with sound, so I hope someone else can post that. GKOaFhQV64qkyHYCAN60gJt-z6kqbvQ5AAAF.mp4
  19. Just as I was writing this, he posted. 😅 He's filming something in the UK. So maybe it IS that show? Or a new music video? As he had Jane Birkin playing in the other video, maybe he wants to add more to the music video?
  20. I just googled it, and this TV show (or similar ones) seems to have run in quite a few countries, including the US, Australia and Germany. But from what I can see, they've stopped. The last one in Germany was in 2019. Anyway, I doubt Mika would take part in such a show. I can imagine him doing The Masked Singer, but not a show where he has to learn choreographies. His strength is free expression, and every time he tried to do choreographies, even if he learned them well, it felt like someone had cropped his wings and put him in a cage. That's just not him. Btw, the weather here is quite good, Mika could come to Germany for running outside.
  21. Mikainstagram stories: GB5YQhRpqg_1gp8FAKqv_7JnZOtGbvQ5AAAF.mp4 Translation I can't believe that we are exactly 10 days away from the first concert in Clermont-Ferrand. So excited to share this moment with you. Some tickets are still available in certain cities. See you soon... on stage!
  22. I also wonder, does that mean he'll have a mobile ice rink on tour? Or maybe just for one particular show? Or is he just training his balance / posture? I love his dancing. The point is to not be afraid to express yourself, even if some people analyze it too much and mock you about it. As he sings in the 2nd verse of Jane Birkin. Then it can be a very powerful way of expression, that connects with the crowd. The Mika dance videos I put up on Tiktok last year did really well - sure, some people say "what drugs did he take?" (those who apparently don't know how to have fun without drugs ), but most comments are very positive. About his ice skating, I wonder how good he was at it as a kid? As he said it's his first time on ice since then. (Tho it's at least 2 times, he's wearing different clothes in the video ) I did figure skating for years until the age of ca. 15, so the things he's doing in his video would come back naturally to me after a few minutes on the ice. But I wouldn't remember, or still be able to do, all the jumps & figures. So that makes me wonder if he remembered these things from when he was a kid, if he did it often enough back then to feel safe on the ice, so he just had to remember? Or if he had to learn them now. In the latter case that surely must've taken some practise. Anyway, I love seeing him on the ice, makes me miss ice skating, I haven't been for years. And makes me want to go ice skating with Mika - it's probably the only kind of sports where I could keep up with him, or even teach him a few things. (ok, ballroom dancing might be another one, but I doubt he's interested in that )
  23. Aww, that's awesome! So happy for you!! If you want to tell more and/or post photos, feel free to do so in The Piano thread: https://www.mikafanclub.com/topic/36553-the-piano-renewed-for-second-series/page/5/
