  1. Can somebody please send me a copy or link to the video of MIKA & Rihanna doing a foto session- I think it was at the Brit awards, they were shown walking down a hall together and then doing the session (if anyone has any of the fotos that would be great too). Thanks much, Minako

  3. (I put this in the suggestion forum, but thought I'd put it here as well in hopes that we will actually "chat about MIKA" in pointed threads.) == please stop using threads as chat rooms! == the PMs work fabulously ! For example, one can hardly tell what this is thread is about, even by reading the entire page http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13494&page=4 For lollipops sake, people- FOCUS!! I beg of you!! Especially as we become "official," we'll soon be representing MIKA and I hope we don't disappoint or embarrass him. There'll be even more newbies and lurkers and I believe one way of keeping the latter interested is to cut out the random, incessant, exclusive chattering in themed topics. I'm not saying everyone should strictly keep on topic, spontaneous chatting can't be helped (this is a very friendly board and a lot of special memories have been shared, created and born here), but when it goes on for pages in a thread meant for something else, it gets bothersome. I made the suggestion for the concert threads to have the page number edited into the first post when the actual reporting began - and it seems some people really liked the idea , so I know the chattering doesn't bother only me. There's a place for everything on this forum, if we could just take a second to find it's home. *M*
  4. ~ I'm still only on page 29 of this thread, but perhaps if MIKA would like to try this again, he could have everyone seated at tables and go around to each of the tables. I know that's not the "casually walking around at a party" atmosphere he'd like, but honestly... if Iceman couldn't control some people, it cannot be done that way (or maybe word got out he's really a softy). In any case it was a really sweet gesture, usually that sort of afterparty is reserved for record company people and friends of the band (usually sans the champagne!). *M*
  5. No, Suzy didn't happen to "find" the bottle-it was given to her after a concert. There's a thread somewheres where Suzy the sleuth uncovered the mysteries of the MIKA (try searching "Ribena" and the thread'll propbably turn up). On the subject of Mika biting, I recall an earlier interview where he said he was angry at someone and wanted to bite them, and yet another where he mentions Sylvia Plath's infamous chomp on Ted Hughs. Will search for them.... *M*
  6. Like I said - "BE THE AVOCA THAT YOU ARE!" Thank you!! Cheers to Lady Godiva for the lovely bracelets *M*
  7. THAT is one of the funniest things overheard!! Thank you! *M*
  8. I'd thought that as well- especially since he's completely bare chested now. That must've been painful! *M*
  9. I live in San Francisco so I've never really stayed in a hotel and I've always had General Admission tickets for The Fox Warfield Theater, (boring and techincal) Map of "the Warfield" -- but in all of your MIKA excitement you should take a moment to marvel and appreciate all of it's beauty! It'll be a perfect, fantabulous place to see MIKA. http://www.livenation.com/venue/getSeatingChart/venueId/1198 But there aren't any reserved "lower level seats" at the Fox Warfield Theater. There's General Admission/ Floor tickets meaning you can either cram up against the stage but also includes tables with seats- but they're way in the back and difficult to see, and first come. The Non General I think there are two tiers (again, I've never had balcony seats, so I don't know how many tiers there are, but, they're UP there! I've heard that unless you're in the first few rows it'll be difficult to see. Market Street does infact vary. Here's a Yelp.com link with ratings, numbers and other links of interest Yelp.com should tell you all you need to know about the the Fox Warfield theater- where to stay, where to eat ect... check the "Browse Nearby" link under the map on the right side of the page http://www.yelp.com/biz/warfield-theatre-san-francisco#hrid:BI0NRuiNeWr27EHj5skKeA/query:Warfield%20Theater I'm not certain about the hotels, but I CAN tell you that almost any hotel on Market Street will get you to the Warfield in about 10 minutes by Muni Bus. Travel Lodge: Assuming you're checking in the morning of the show, have no children, are checking out the following day and do't care about ammenities (although it's close to a lot of cool places) - Total: USD 53.58 to Total: USD 50.16 including taxes etc... I didn't read all the fine print, but: http://www.travelodge.com/Travelodge/control/Booking/check_avail?entry_source=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.travelodge.com%2FTravelodge%2Fcontrol%2FBooking%2Fmodify_dates%3Fid%3D07015%26propBrandId%3DTL%26variant%3D&checkInDate=02%2F12&numberAdults=2&numberRooms=1&checkOutDate=02%2F13&numberChildren=0&rateName=Best+Avail&rate=000&promotionCode=&corporateCode=&iataNumber=&id=07015&propBrandId=TL otherwise for the same motel, different dates etc... http://www.travelodge.com/Travelodge/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=07015&brandInfo=TL For a more intersting nearby stay try the Phoenix Hotel: http://www.jdvhotels.com/phoenix/?cid=gl_phx It's between $149 to $169, pricier, but unlike the above mentioned I believe it includes a quick breakfast (please double check to make certain- if I remember correctly it was hot tea & coffee with muffins and such- but I was too sleepy to grasp it all. It's an upscale motel, but one that Keanu has stayed at amongst LOADS of other "artists."
  10. his scarf matches the MFC colours! *M*
  11. Maybe something's sometimes wrong with the pm's. I've sent you quite a few about the cd you kindly said you'd make for me and last I heard, you asked for my address- I've sent you a few pm's and never heard back from you. I hope everything's well!! I've still got my finger's crossed for the cd. Are you coming to SF again? Tell your sister hello for me, or maybe she'll read this! *M*
  12. is perhaps like the song.... he's finding bits of limbs all over town!! *M*
  13. I don't think this has been posted, if it has.... read it again because it's interesting! http://www.laptoprockers.eu/music/p1/interview-greg-wells/ These are the MIKA bits Producing Mika's album "Life in Cartoon Motion" Greg recently set another landmark in his career: the #1 worldwide hit "Grace Kelly". We wanted to know more! Congratulations with the success of Mika's album "Life in Cartoon Motion". Already more than 3,5 million copies sold. Did you expect this to happen? "I knew that Mika would get noticed in a big way because he's far too talented but I never could have predicted this kind of success, especially in today's climate of people stealing music. 3.5 million units sold probably means that over 25 million people actually have the record!" As a producer your creative input probably differs with each artist you work with. Can you describe your role creating this album? "I view my role as being similar to a movie director. Sometimes a director on a film has to get involved with script rewrites, with firing actors and getting new ones, with changing locations, etc - and sometimes the script requires no changes and the actors are brilliant. At that point the director's job is simply to make the movie. My role changes dramatically from record to record. With mika, the "script" was so strong to begin with, meaning his songs were amazing from the demos, that we immediately jumped into recording when we first got together. The very first thing we did was "grace kelly", which was kind of an audition for both of us to see if we worked well together!" What do you consider the best piece of music you have been involved with? "Mika's 'Lollipop'." What are you working on right now, and who's at the top of your wish list? "Who's at the top of my wish list? PJ Harvey, Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie, and honestly, Mika."
  14. I'm pretty sure they'll show MIKA as they showed him at the podium in the commercial. I had the sound off, but luckily was watching the screen- otherwise I wouldn't have caught onto what the commercial was about. Thankfully, his green coat is rather unique and hard to miss!! *M*
