We won't have slept for four or five days, the teams will, like graphic designers start their work after the rehearsal so their work shift starts around 9 PM and stop at 5 AM so it's really a tight schedule. Also I had this intention...as I am really a singer songwriter composer, a pop anglo saxon musician. I come from this tradition I write with my piano. It's truly a British sort of pop I come from We heard that earlier, Love Today chorus is very pop. Mika: Yeah but my challenge was: How to do this but with French language? In French. Was it tough, was it complicated to mix both? Mika: Finding how to do it was challenging but it was a challenge that I loved. At Christmas when I read for example in Le Monde "It is pop in French, it was something. No one understood how happy it made me. It was like a Christmas gift. Mika: Exactly like a Christmas gift probably the best I ever got because I had challenged myself to do this two years before [the album release] Since you give your family asparagus you can't expect them to get [nice] gifts (laughing) Mika: Wait a second, don't laugh at asparagus. I started making music because I needed to. I felt invisible ok and l would listen to I was a nine years old kid I felt totally invisible. I was fourteen and I felt like I had no value and I would listen to losers who said in songs "I"m a loser but I'm terrific" and when you hear someone saying "I'm a loser baby but I am a hero as well" it gives you ideas, it changes your head and you tell yourself maybe it would be a good idea if I could find a way to do the same. For years I thought we had (and I found that wierd) but I learned a few days ago that this is a vaccum cleaner

His name is Mikado by the way. I wanted to call him Mika but my husband got mad about that name Then he said our first two dogs had had names ending with "o" so the third should have a name ending with "o" it wasn't on purpose I had chosen the first name "Romeo" because he had very sweet eyes and my husband had chosen the name of the second "Pipo" because he had heard it in Italy. Then I had an inspiration to call him "Mikado" so I had my Mika and he had his o. It kind of worked but my husband was still mad at me and it took him ages to call Mikado by his name but eventually it happened one day and now he seems not to mind. The funny thing is that one day Mika revealed in an interview the name of his perfume which is made only for him and that he is the only person using it. And guess what is the name of his exclusive perfume? Mikado

To be honest I'm not keen about this article either... they didn't bother to write a full new text about the interview and part of it is from 2009 ...then at the end they mention the 2024 tour like it was forgotten then remembered at the very last minute.... Calling someone a has been after saying they are absolutely wonderful when they started being famous is a French journalists thing unfortunately. And Mika had a hard time after his success getting back being played on the radios (except for his first album songs) Doing The Voice in France and XFactor in Italy was a great idea to get more media attention. As far as French normal people I meet everyday in real life when they see my tatoo they all tell me they know and like Mika and do not think he is a has been. They have a good image of the artist and of the man. I enjoy interview when you can read Mika's words but this is more like the journalist giving her opinion on Mika and piling up facts.... About Mika being excentric if artists have to be as grey as the world we live in how sad! We live in a time period in which French humorists end up not being funny because if you laughat anything it is an offense and if you laugh at yourself it is therapy and in which commercials for food end with "pour votre santé bougez" and car commercials end with "for short trips use a bike or walk" and so on and so forth. And you need to let go somehow to get into that spirit for writing. Free association. And sometimes during your carreer and also in life it is not always simple. David Bowie and David Burn both used the same way not to get writers' block if unable to get into that spirit. Do you know how? By writing about what crossed their mind, about what they saw around them [on a piece of paper] then Bowie would cut out each single word, mixed all the pieces of paper then he would put the words together randomly, read the sentences and then wrote songs based on them.
