Hi All, I know this is a pretty old topic, so I might try posting my request somewhere else as well- but I thought this would be the most appropriate place to start. My name is Ali, I'm a huge fan of Mika (despite my nonexistent activity on these boards..) and I am, in fact, the girl mentioned in an earlier report that jumped on stage with Mika holding a sign upside down. Yeah, that was me. To be fair, I WAS ON STAGE WITH MIKA. The sign was not my primary concern. (if anyone was wondering, the sign read 'THE MIKA SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH') I fell in love with Mika's music in tandem with my very close friend Natalie. In fact, I was only at the concert that night because I had worked hard to surprise her with front row seat tickets as a late birthday present. With a heavy heart I must say that Natalie passed away on May 1st of this year. She was only 20 years old. Since I found out, I've been trying to find every last photograph and video I can of us together. The night of the concert I lost my camera and thus any record of our unbelievable night with Mika. It occurred to me that someone else might have a record of us- as we were both first up on the stage for a second before the mob grew. Is there anyone with any clear shots or videos of the stage during the finale (Lollipop)? I was wearing a striped sailor-ish shirt that night, I have longer brown hair and I was carrying an upside down orange sign like a fool.. Also, the main reason Natalie and I stormed the stage like that was that a camera man filming near the edge gave us a wink of encouragement when we suggested it aloud. Does anyone know how I can contact Mika's people? to see if there's footage of that night still available? I realize I should check the dvd of his live shows, but I haven't had a chance to buy a copy yet. I know this is a ridiculous plea, four years later.. but it's hard to put to words just how much it means to me.

Aww this is the sweetest contest ever! I had the fortune of going to a Mika concert recently in February but my friend got extremely sick and I didn't want to make her stay for hours just so I could get an autograph, ahha! But I still was upset at missing Mika. I'll start thinking hard!

I can't believe no one's mentioned Harry Nilsson! If you like Lennon or McCartney you have to reference Harry Nilsson. Good lord I love that man... also: Mika! (obviously) Regina Spektor Joni Mitchell Elvis Presely (did he write his own songs?) Sufjan Stevens Rufus Wainright Patsy Cline (did she write her own songs?) I know it's purely an opinion thread, but I think it's pretty self-explanatory. A songwriter is someone who write their own songs. Whether there is collaboration, that's besides the point, but the majority of the music and lyrics must be written by that individual. Britney Spears, for example, can be considered an amazing performer, singer, celebrity, entertainer... y'know? But songwriter-- not so much (p.s. Harry Nilsson beats all except Mika)

Gaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh *exhales for first time in 3 days* It's all alright! PHEW he finally accessed the money and sent me my tickets. Oh my lord, I almost cired when he said he was relisting them! Sorry for that small Mika drama there girls, but I have my tickets in hand now and I am SO EXCITED for the concert! p.s. Suzanna, that umbrella (ella-ella-aye-aye-aye) is incredible!

OMG I might lose my tickets! Ahhhh I'm going to cry! I bought them on ebay a few days ago and then heard nothing from the seller, but everything seemed fine enough. Then about an hour ago he sends me this e-mail saying that he never received the payment and that he's going to have to release the tickets! AHHH so I sent him an e-mail back trying to figure this out, but he said that he'd let them go by the end of the day! OH LORD I would just die if I couldn't go. And more than that I bought the other ticket for my friend for her birthday! She loves Mika and I got her all excited because they were front row seats. Pray for me girls, I am going to need it!

Do you mean the deadline's Feb 10th? .. Cause Feb 15th is the concert! haha orelse this contest is useless! You'd win the tickets and miss the concert by 5 days!!

Aghh I'm sooo sad that I'm missing your get together, but I've already promised myself to other friends for before the show! But I will definitely scout you out once I get to the theatre. When are you guys planning to get there? I know it' assigned seating so no real waiting outside, but could we catch Mika on the way in? Lol can you tell that I'm a Mika-concert-rookie? I'm sooo pumped!

Hey guys! Just wanted to update a little. I haven't had time to post on here in FOREVER but rest assured that I have been creeping this website like no other. I take everything back! (except for the "amazing musician" stuff) I am completely obsessed with Mika! I even have front Row tickets for his show in my hometown of Vancouver on the 15th! WOOOT. Hahah so yeah, this is a little re-introduction since I kinda disappeared after introducing myself the first time. I hope to see some of you at the concert here in Vancity! Omg guys I am SO sorry! I've been so busy I've honestly posted like... ONCE on here! Haha, well hi again. So I live in Vancouver, and I have 2 tickets Row 1 Orchestra seats! WOOT. Although I got them on ebay a while ago, so I'm TERRIFIED that it'll turn out that they're fake or something. I'd actually just die then....

Sorry guys, I'm too tired to read all the posts, but any other Vancouverites out there? I've traveled all over Canada, and either Montreal or Vancouver would be my picks to live in! Montreal is edgy and cool, but Vancouver has better weather in the winter and is just stunning! Woot for Canada! Keep me posted about any gigs in the BC area

Hey everyone. I'm allie, a big fan of Mika's music and I suppose of him too! Well, I won't lie... I feel like a bit of an imposter on here. Everybody is so dedicated to him, his music, his ring size, his allergies etc. All I know about this boy is that he's a fantastic musician and artist! Actually I came upon him by accident, through a friend really. Someone asked me what I feared most in the entire world and I replied "Diabetes... and Global Warming, really. Although I'm not sure if I believe that whole deal with polar bears and such..." And my friend remarked that I sounded like Mika (I'm a girl by the way, grrr) So yeahhh that's how I stumbled upon him. Ummm what else? Have I written too much? I'm honestly hopeless with this sort of thing. I actually kind of hate the internet, but god try and tell that to my 16-year-old peers... My favourite Mika song is Lollipop. I've never seen him live, but I hope to in the future. Um, yep that's about it! love love love, allie
