  1. I loled at that he was allergic to peanut butter . . . because I'm sure he's allergic to peanuts, not just peanut butter specifically. Thanks for posting and translating this!
  2. I just heard Grace Kelly during a "bad acts" montage in America's Got Talent . . . they were obviously using it for the "why don't you like me" lyrics in the song. For those that don't know, America's Got Talent is a reality show/talent show. Anyone else heard Mika in an odd place?
  3. o.m.g. This picture has to be from Miami, and whoever took it must have have been standing right next to me!
  4. Honestly, I don't know, she could have been, but at that point she was talking to a bouncer, so I really don't know.
  5. You're right, I was a bit rash with what I said. And I have no problem with that she was let backstage, as you said, she helped him. However, I find what she said to be unneccesary and rude, especially if she did co-write his songs. By the way, it doesn't seem to me that this was at Studio A, it looks like they went to a bar afterwards, which would make it seem more like a personal party.
  6. I'm with cheeseygoodness, I waited there for hours and he didn't come out at all . . . I really dislike these "exclusive" afterparties, especially ones like this. I didnt see a single one of those people waiting in line. I remember that woman in the first picture, she was complaining that she couldn't get backstage, saying something like "I'll make sure he never plays in Miami again!" It disappoints me, honestly.
  7. Thank you! Off topic: You know, I remember seeing Mika's special red drink and being tempted to ask for it after the concert, props to you for being brave enough to ask for it and drink it!
  8. As my user title thing says, I'm actually going to be studying/majoring in music in college (starting this fall) and I sing all kinds of music. I'm actually going to be trained in classical singing (like Mika was, wooo!) but I also play guitar, piano and french horn. I'm also a bit of a writer and really enjoy performing my or other people's poetry, especially slam poetry! edit: I also sew, and love to make/refashion my own clothes!
  9. just giving the thread a bump! or a stitch . . . or something *runs off*
  10. Well, from what I've seen of quilting (by the way I am a DIYNetwork fanatic, and watch their quilting shows), quilts are like three layers: all the patches, a layer of quilting batting (it's like the stuff they put in pillows, but its like a flat fabric), and then a soft fabric backing. So, ultimately, it doesn't matter if some are knitted/crocheted or just fabric because there will be other layers holding it all together
  11. As dorky as it sounds, it might be a good idea to pick a measuring system from the beginning, just so we can talk about it all in one system! (note that I am currently hating being an American, we seem to make everything more complicated!)
  12. Ok, I did some caclulating and research, an extra-long twin bedspread is normally 6.75’ x 9.58’ (according to sewing.org) and the closest thing that I can get to that is two hundred and eighty 6" squares (14 squares by 20 squares. Now, if we're talking 10" squares we could make it 10 squares by 10 squares (100 total), which would be slightly bigger than a normal queen bedspread. I think we should go for the 10" squares, because it will take less work (sewing together 280 squares would be incredibly time consuming). edit: I just realized that I repeated what mouselle said about the "blank" squares, sorry! but yeah, quilters have the cutest patterned fabrics, so we could get something mika-esque.
  13. I am very interested! I can also sew and embroider, so I'd love to help!
  14. I thought it was "fog out my daylight" . . . definately more romantic than "fork" !
  15. wow, that just brings me back! thanks!
  16. yeah, it was awesome meeting you, SillyJilly! you were the sweetest person there, and it was really nice to meet another hardcore fan there, someone I could talk to!
  17. He actually said that right before Love Today, I remember because it was the best part for me. I don't think he signed anything either, my friend and I tried to meet him, but it didn't work out, which sucked because I really wanted him to sign the drumstick! The second song was definately Big Girl. Aaaand he did take off his shirt during Love Today, right before he started banging on the trashcan! I also just remembered that during Grace Kelly, the guitarist (I don't remember his name) had this priceless look on his face, probably because everyone was screaming out the lyrics to the song. He even walked over to tell the bassist something! That's all I can remember right now, but if anyone has any questions, just ask!
  18. It was the one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life! My friend and I got at the venue at six, and waited three hours in the rain, but it was worth it! We ended up front row center and it was absolutely amazing! He and the band were musically spot-on! Love Today was definately the highlight of the show, I got to touch him and he gave me the one of the drumsticks he used to bang on the trashcan at the end of the song!!!!
  19. me too! mika's obviously not as big in miami as in, say, new york (where people were in line at 1!), so do you think that 5ish would be early enough to get up front?
  20. When would be the best time to arrive to be in the first or second row of people? I'm going to the Miami concert by the way . . .
