  1. A wonderbar year full of adventures and creativity and with so much vibey dancing -hey I'm no longer a big girl. Still recovering from a week of riding around on night buses and the all the euphoria and interaction at the gigs last week. I was running late (como siempre) on Thurs so did not get wind of the afterparty but got a quickie signature anyway. At least I managed to buy a ticket off you Alegra - I did not know you were destined to be such a star party organiser. I may not have travelled as far as some or attended as many gigs (due to boring domestic situazione}-but I have nevertheless put in a vast amount of private worship time. Mika - your songs have so much resonance - I never tire of them - et surtout - I love your damned sexy dancin'. You are sunshine and alegria. Tu est incroyable et adorable! Bon vacances - a bientot! Un grand merci a tous! Grosses bissous!!!! Ps: En plus - we are connected on the Picadilly line! VIVA MIKAxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  2. The reviews in the (Natzie)Evening Standard and the (Tory) Times were of a mocking and derogatory tone. What's wrong with people in this country - they dont like to see people having fun and performances of splendid over the top, colourful camp exuberance is just too much for their dull sensibilities. They are just too serious and dont see the 'tongue in cheek' or humour in Mika's shows - as for energy - they haven't a clue. Apparently NME have just given him some mock award for worst video as well. I think Mika appeals to Latinos, French, Spanish and Italians etc. because they have an inbuilt culture of carnival. To attend a Mika show is like going to a fiesta or carnival. True we are begining to celebrate in the streets more (The Thames Day carnival was super) but there are still a lot of boring old farts in Little Britain!
  3. Well I think you must be the nice Belgian layde I was standing next to for some while. I loved your Tin-Tin flag by the way. True - now I know about the dreadful chaos at the after-party - Mika was indeed very gracious to stop and chat to people and do signings at the stage-door. It was just nice to see him close up - I wasn't so bothered about a signature - but since he was doing them I took the opportunity. There was still a friendly atmosphere outside anyway. Nice meeting you and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip to lovely London town. I've spent virtually the last 2 days in bed recovering - so what must Mika feel like - all that girlie smothering and some very nasty reviews in the papers as well.
  4. What a totally awsome and exhausting Mikafest this week has been. Stuck in the middle between caring for aging mother (with dementia) and stroppy teenage daughter (whom I took to gig on Tues) the sheer excitment of dressing up and sneeking off to Mikagigs is always a wonderfully delicious adventure. Arriving with bags on Monday didn't manage to get ticket but did see Mika stick his head out of the car. All day Tuesday getting ready and arrive with daughter to get fairly reasonable place (I wasnt expecting front row stuff but we could still see fairly OK) and had super time just being there. After enjoyed meeting some MFCs and managed to buy ticket from Alegra for Thurs. (Molto Grazie) So enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and chatting - un peu le francais and un poco espangnol tambien. Saw Mika come out sign a white balloon and saw him into the car. Thursday ended up arriving very late - was still making Mika's present! Another fab gig. However my technology let me down - as I SO wanted to film all the multicoloured confetti finale.- which I see as representing all the different facets of the Mikaworld: all the people and all the diverse experiences. So having bought a spare bag I proceeded to pick up as much confetti as possible - to make a giant collage. One of the security guards let me finish wrapping my present on a table but I still ended up outside on the steps scribbling a letter to Mika. Meanwhile I had no idea an afterparty was on the cards but when I got to the stage door I wondered why there were no obvious MFC people - ie no rabbit ears and no feathers - just mainly tourists. Must say I do admire people who are coming from so far and wide to see Mika when I just tootle down from North London and take my chances. I did meet a lovely lady (in her 60's) who had just flown in from Marseilles who looks after her 92 yr old mother who is also a Mikafan and send him flowers and a letter! The only odd experiences were when I thought I saw Mrs P in a waiting car (I thought I'd give her the present) when I realised it must have been la grandmere, sitting next to Fortune and also the famous lady who speaks her sad story and dances on the GK video. Then had a look through backstage doors at empty and littered stage and talked to the nice roady who did the special effects and when I told him about my confetti scaveging he gave me a roll of streamers. Finally got to see Mika at stage door and tried to listen to what was going on. Yes got an autograph and I just said merci - BUT it was very quickly done and sad to say with NO smiles- which felt somewhat rejecting on reflection. Only yesterday discovered that here had been a party and I cried and sulked all day long! Now I read all the stuff that went on - I probably saw more of Mika at the stage door. However it must have been so flipping cool to have been at the party and drink free champagne. hate missing things especially a party. Finalement - tant pis -obviously people who had time and energy to queue were more entitled to entry but had I have known I would have been well and truly up for it - next time I will not spend so long picking up the confetti cannon pieces. : Cheers to everyone who had a goodtime and a super Mikafest.
  5. It all happened very suddenly - I didn't particularly realise what had happened - but Martin kinda laughed, stopped playing and put his hands up like a naughty boy:roftl: and then Mika laughed it all off and said...."and thats what you call a screwed up ending" (as opposed to a Happy Ending...) Martin and Mika handled the moment with skillfull and professional improvisation, all in the course of a night's gig. At the end Mika 'playfully' rubbed/bashed Martin's head very hard like some kinda chimney brush that needed cleaning and then he kinda hugged Martin as part of the process. It was just a funny, spontaneous yet well handled incident which added to the night's entertainement. Micky and Martin then exited to their left and Mika to his right and was handed his checked jacket back.
  6. So much for jackets. I saw it for real on Monday nite. The black hoodie was divinely decorated with large rainbow heart motifs on the front and back. Mika was looking perfect - too good to be true. After constant looking at pics and videos its still kinda strange to see him again for real. The lighting was bright and crystalline so he was very clear although I was still 3 heads back from the front. I was a little disappointed that he just did sit down numbers - ie no manic dancing and no Cherisse. The performance was slick with lots of little added yelps and improvisations. Best of all he looked very happy and relaxed and gave lots of big smiles, wriggling about at a shiny black grand piano. You know sometimes Mika can look so tortured and ernest when at the piano. He did the following numbers: Grace K, My Interpretation (I think), Relax, SITM (with the "screwed up ending") Billy Brown and stompingly vibrant Love Today. I haven't seen him do a sit down version of Relax which was a bit strange. But as ever he is always improvising, embroidering and modifying his style which keeps everyone fresh and on their toes and open to new surprises. The background visuals were intriguing, starting with a black outlined tree which gradually changed with each number: sprouting green leaf shoots, then eventually exploding into full on psychadelic colour. It was very cold but had stopped raining so didn't get the opportunity to put up umbrellas in true Mika style. A fab and magical evening under the lights of the London Eye Great Wheel by the shiny River Thames. Nice to meet some MFC peeps and see the faces behind the avatars! VIVA MIKA:wub2:
  7. Yep - I dissolved into a pool of treacle when I met Mika and shrank into Alice in Wonderland proportions while he towered over me like an enormous giraffe - or should I say caterpiller. I still suffer from l'esprit de l'escalier when I think of it (just about everyday)! All pointlessly delicious I suppose.
  8. OMG - there's no escape from Mikerisms. But hey - its all 'pointlessly delicious'. Fab but fab pics of golden umbrellas. Yes - I love umbrellas as well as balloons and confetti and all fiesta related stuff. When on holiday in South Atlantic coast of France and I heard Relax playing relentlessly - I ran along the beach screaming (in true Mitzi Gaynor fashion) 'I'm gonna wash that man right outa my hair'. Nice communing with you but I think I have to go to bed now and have some sweet dreams!
  9. Yep you can just imagine Mika hanging out at the V&A - I've always wanted to get locked in there one night...Silly me not paying attention when I should have been at the Royal Albert Hall instead. Oh well - I'll retrace Mika's steps and go give it a whirl - it has had good reviews. Whenever I'm doing fun arty stuff in London I always think to myself - that Mika would love this - where is he- why isn't he here? The other day I passed Liberties shop window - it was full of white balloons - I thought Mika was going to rise up out of them!
  10. I agree with Christine. If its a celeb do and hes got free tickets and dresses up in nice designer gear of course the press will want photos. Only our Mika likes to act above all that -he doesn't want his picture in the tabs - yet jumps all over the Sunday Mail (before Christmas) in suits of every colour. Its like he's playing the Grace Kelly game. Yeh he sure can get moody and annoyed - the flip side to playing such a cute angelic boy. Of course he would turn up to the Cirque - its right up his street (he only lives around the corner somewhere). Mind you whenever I'm in the South Kensington area, like last week when I went to see the 50's "Couture" exhibition at the V&A I was looking out for him everywhere!
  11. Thanks for posting - super pics and well researched. Of course he's an Angel and a Devil in disguise - and wouldn't have him any other way. Yeh I made an angle/bauble out of Mika for my Christmas tree too - adding white winged feathers. He looked great up there! Doesn't he just bring out the creativity and the love. Bless him.
  12. Quel horreur.. obviously truly disappointed, devastated and depressed... I actually bought tickets this time for 4/12 instead of scuttling along at the last momentito like a cartoon motion character, pinching bottoms to get to the front. Spent all afternoon faffing around with outfits and petticoats and made a fab little fascinator. Yet nothing seemed to go right and just had to keep improvising - so I guess something was in the air - there's always a dark side to the moon. I was still going to scuttle down to Hammersmith anyway on the offchance when by chance I checked out the sad news. Would have been nice to meet some other MFC peeps and get totally and utterly sloshed or go for crisis counselling. Glad they pulled through and the spirit is rising. :thumb_yello: My heart goes out to all those who have made such efforts to attend from such far flung places. True dedication. Still London town is a fab place and there's so much to do. Why not check out the ice-skating rink at Somerset House and soak up some vibes from the summer concert there. Or visit the V&A museum and look at the awsome costume collection, knowing that you are in Mika territory (he lives up the road there somewhere and went to that horrid French Lycee). Or check out Covent Garden Opera House where he first sang aged 11. There's a whole tour of Mika's London to be had there. Enjoy! Viva la vida. Viva Mika. And getting your f****** rosaries out and pray for a speedy recovery so that he can put his feet up over Christmas and bask in the warmth and love of his fans like the true "roi soleil" that he's become.
  13. Awsomely spectacular and many more superlatives. Loved the crazy dancers and the huge "Day of the Dead" puppet. Spot on as always And another Mikaresque serendipity experience because I just tumbled upon my "Day of the Dead" box of artefacts today when arranging the house for a "Day of the Dead" party. Hope to recreate a Mikaresque fiesta experience - streamers and confetti a go-go. Viva la vida. Viva Mika:thumb_yello:
  14. Yes Yes and Yes - love the new video Love the way Mika just floats up and up and away leaving all the monsters and troubles behind with his laces dangling. Just cannot "ground" myself after watching this - its like floating back in amniotic fluid...spacy. If you have any troubles - just grab a balloon and float away from it all. Also love the final floating away bit - is this heaven or wot. Yes - love the jacket - Mika is very smart in this one and completely alone. There's none of the usual coming together party/celebration crowd with confetti and streamers - just Mika and his balloon. And he sure looks angelic floating amongst the cloud like clusters of white ballons. Its starting to remind me of an old French film "le Ballon Rouge" where a small boy in Paris catches a red balloon and floats away up into the sky. Not too sure about the hands either but there's a nice little smile in that bit. J'adore les ballons - J'adore Mika
  15. An intriguing assemblage of Mikaresque objects: - the hanger, the teacups, the records, piano and tv, the shoes - and general surrealist objects:- the clocks, the key, the umbrella, the birdcage. Half the image is in folliage with a bright background the other half has shed its leaves and there is stormy weather. Who is that man with the stripy t-shirt and moustache on the left and who is the (naked) one on the right playing with dice? The music references on the 'bereft' left side could be compensatory elements while the (Billy Brown like) figure is (escaping) and adrift at sea. "A little bit of heaven - a little bit of hell". Much to ponder-osa. Where do you get those Mikas in jars? They look delicioso.
  16. Absolutely fab - colourful - delicious pics. It WAS just like that. Yes - I have just come back from the event..... Being lucky enough to be a North London Lollipop Girl - I decided I would pop down and see Mika. Wearing lots of pink, psychadelic effects and an array of hearts I walked out the door saying to my family 'bye - just going to see Mika'. Arriving at the Blink I must say I had to take a walk round the block to calm my queesy euphoria. Anyway... slipped in and grabbed a Pims and walked right past Mika - just like that... Lovely lovely chat to fellow lollipop girl and then... managed to have a little chat with Mika himself:wub2: :wub2: . I congratulated him on the show and he said I looked very nice. He loved all my hearts and I explained that I'd had a 'broken remanent' experience before leaving in that I couldn't match up any of my heart shaped earrings so had to settle for dangly lebanese type ones instead. Just delicious basking in his presence - somehow I managed to stay cool and didn't like to bother him with tiresome autographs and more photoshots. Had a lovely relaxed time chatting to various people, including the lovely Cherisse and Yasmine who was wearing a super suger pink dress. Danced up Oxford Street bursting from the experience wanting to shout out to everyone - 'hey I've just met Mika'. Just reeling from the effect - headphones on - sang 'Love Today' at the top of my voice all the way down my street ... and I just didn't care. Oh yes the artwork was absolutely fab - fun - colourful - vibrant and uplifting. Do go see and get yourself some lollipops as well.
  17. Phew - have just gotten to the end of this thread of psychodrama. What hard work it is being a MF. So much angst and scratching to find a way out to the truth. Yes questions to be answered etc. - yes mistakes happen - Mika not infallable - yes maybe he is shagged out given the ultra energy he puts into his performance (but that's the pop world and you have to make hay while the sun shines)..etc. (Just wondering why I never thought of becoming a popstar - all those adoring fans, parties, travel, groupies, fab clothes and hopefully get very rich - instead of being a poor struggling artist). Jolting reality checks from Christine and Jack - very well observed. But then Mika set up a lovely cuddly fantasy world for us all to escape into and have fun - and then reality crashes in. Its hard to reconcile the two - n'est ce pas? Isn't that why we have pop stars (once it was movie stars) - in order to project our fantasies on to them and to escape our (mundane) reality? And why not? Maybe I live 'la vie en rose' - find reality sucks and denounce 'an ordinary life'. Mika offers the creative challenge of another kind of space. I was in that space anyway - Mika just iced my cake and put cherries on top. VIVA MIKA (and of course I luv you cos you're so bloody gorgeous darling and such a mover)
  18. Oui oui oui - quite agree with all this so far:thumb_yello: Glad to know that other MF's are also feeling effects of MFC addiction. Too many 4.00/5.00 ams - I function on a quasi euphoric high all day. I've just tried to read a month's worth of Sunday papers (looking for Mika news) instead. It takes ages to get through some of these threads, join all the sub-groups which are added to daily.. ohh la la ... got to get my life back. We pine about Mika getting sick - I think we all need a little RELAX. Sometimes it feels as if the whole world revolves around MIKA - I wake up and wonder what he's doing - what colour shirt he is wearing - I dance every day to Life in Cartoon Motion (no long a big girl anymore) - I see children with lolipops, curly headed boys (but not 6 fters), the colour pink, anything colourful in general, tamagochis, the world of burlesque, circus animals, penguins at the zoo, feltips, anything Lebanese ...or French and ...101 other Mika tags. RELAX TAKE IT EASY - Sivan - whatever you do. I'V GOT A DANGEROUS OBSESSION - I'M IN NEED TO SOME PROTECTION. ADDICTION DELICIO-SO:mf_lustslow:

  22. I would be only to happy to run my fingers through those curls - to stroke them, to comb them, to gel them, to tussle them and most of all to caress them. 23. Hi! I'm looking for an eco-cottage in Lollipop Lane where I could open up a sweet shop cum cafe cum general art club? I imagine life is sweet in Mikaville - no rushing - just dancing - no hard labour- just enjoying doing what you like best - art - dancing- dressing up - relaxing and taking it easy while sucking lollipops- and the 'hardest work' would just be keeping everything bright and colourful and growing exotic fruits and flowers. I guess Mikaville must be the sunniest, funniest, friendliest, fragrant and most colourful place to live. #77 Mika's Angel #19 Mika's slave #32 Mika's pervert #32 nite owl and I DONT CARE..........
  24. I have my wings all ready - I could be Mika's Angel # 77- ok. Since converting to the Mika faith - there is always Mika magic in the air.
