  2. Hi, I've got 2 spare tickets to Compiegne. These are the tickets to the place right in front of the stage. Please pm me if interested. Cheers!
  3. I just got back to London and I'm knackered.. But I've been waiting for three years for a gig in Poland so a report is a must. First of all, a funny story. I arrived at Heathrow on Saturday, checked the number of my gate, went to the lounge, sat down and, to my amazement, noticed MIKA sitting on the opposite seat. I immediately decided to act cool, which of course proved impossible as I have the exact opposite of what they call poker face.. I knew that Mama P noticed my facial expressions, changing from blank to uncontrollable grin, so I said hi and talked very briefly to them so that they knew I wasn't a total creep. I then went to my queue and was soon approached by Mama P who asked if I wanted to join M on stage the next day. My answer was thank you but no, as having fun in the first row was my definite priority. But I think it was really lovely of her to ask And now, about the show. It was a very different gig for me from all the others I went to over the last 3 years. First of all, it was stressful. We planned something special, we wanted to make Warsaw Golden.. We prepared 1400 pieces of golden foil to give out to people. I was terrified it would turn into an epic fail, so that was my worry number one. We did distribute them, people seemed ok with the idea, but seeing as MIKA was just one of the acts, and not even the main one, I just couldn't know if people would actually participate. Apart from golden foil, we brought along lots of exploding confetti. We wanted to use them all together, all of us in the first row. Or two rows actually, the audience was split in two. Will they work? Will we do it in the right moment? Will M notice? They are very loud, will we not get into trouble with the the security guys? Worry number three - there was a meet and greet planned for a very limited number of people. You could win passes in a few competitions run by the festival, a big Polish radio station and a tv station. Living in London, it was next to impossible for me to take part in those competitions. And not taking part in them made it rather difficult to win.. Despite that, I couldn't imagine not meeting MIKA in Poland and I was hoping for a miracle. I know now that waiting for miracles is also very stressful. So it is with great joy that I say that it all worked out perfectly. Warsaw was Golden. The number of people participating surpassed my expectations entirely. We thought of the idea two weeks before the gig. Kam, Iwa and I were sitting in my flat in Ldn and thinking about what we can do to make the gig special. And then it hit me - Golden Foil! I cannot possibly describe how it felt to turn around and see the amazing result of that one late night conversation. It was really touching. I lived in Warsaw for 4 years, it is a very special place for me, and knowing we made it Golden for one day.. It just means a lot to me. Also, we later spoke to festival's photographer who started asking us about that whole golden foil thing. He said it looked amazing, showed us photos he took, and said that people from the tv station that organized the festival were very impressed. It makes it that more meaningful as we wrote to them to ask if they were willing to help us in any way, and they said no. It is nice to know we managed anyway and the result was not too shabby. The confetti thing went so smoothly too. It was perfect. When Mika saw the first ones he started laughing in the middle of the song.. We didn't synchronize perfectly, as some of them proved harder to work than the others, but that actually turned out for the best, as they were HUGE, 8 meters high, so one or two was enough for a wall of confetti to appear. And we had 25 of those So you could see confetti bursting every now and then during the whole We Are Golden, with the last cloud of confetti, opened by Kam, landing exactly over MIKA. He kept smiling, it was just perfect. I'm also very glad because at one point I started chatting with a girl working for the festival. I told her that I flew from London and that I'm there to see MIKA. Well, that WE are all there to see MIKA, we completely took over the first rows I also mentioned that I wish I could meet MIKA, having waited for that gig for so long. She then told me that "she'll see what she can do". She came back after some time and told me she made a few calls and managed to add me to the list of winners going to the meet and greet. Needless to say, I was over the moon to hear that. And she was so lovely, when we arrived to the m&g after the gig, she started looking for me to make sure I was there The meet and greet was lovely. MIKA didn't have a lot of time so they divided us in a few groups of 5 to speed things up. The 5 of us, from Polish mfc, were the last ones to talk to MIKA. It was very relaxed, M was all smiles, and I loved how he told Andy, you can see that in the video posted a few pages back, that he was watching him during the gig and that he obviously had a great time. It was a first MIKA gig for Andy, first time he met him, so I imagine it must have been a nice thing to hear MIKA took more than enough time to talk to us, we gave him our gifts, which was mentioned earlier. I'm going to sound immodest but those were really nice gifts and he liked them a lot We couldn't use our cameras but there was an official photographer there and he took a group photo of us as well as taking photos while we were talking, so they should be quite nice. As that show was the very first MIKA gig for a lot of Polish fans, I so wish M could meet the rest of us.. But he did have an early flight the next day so that was impossible. However, I'm sure it will be easier to arrange when he comes to Poland next time. And, judging by yesterday's show, I have no doubt that it will happen sooner than later. All in all, it's been the most wonderful day, definitely worth waiting for
  4. I love KA and I'm showing it to everyone I know of course. A friend told me yesterday that it reminded her a lot of this song: I didn't know this one but 'we are young, we are strong'.. It is a bit similar I guess.
  5. I've got 1 spare general admission ticket for Hammersmith, March 1st. Pm me if interested.
  6. Well of course filmOn stopped working after first 20 seconds of Rain. Aaah

  13. This really wasn't the best time to be away from London, was it? Damn you, holidays! I'm very interested how it'll go though. A very good point about him not really saying he'll be there. I hope he will. And I hope people won't be storming the pub. He gets more publicity by announcing something like this on twitter, instead of MFC for example, I just hope it won't turn into a total mess I'm stressed out and I'm not even going, eh. Have fun those who are!
  14. Thanks for sharing the story! Sounds like a fantastic night and I love your attitude. Must've been funny for Ronnie not being recognized. So you got to go to an afterparty, met half of The Killers and found out you look 10 yrs younger than you are, now that's what I'd call a good day Gotta love Ronnie.. I know what you mean. I've seen them 5 times this year. And 4 of those nights they would come out, talk to people and sign things. I never stayed. Once, I didn't know they do that kind of thing, second time my sister wanted to go early, once I broke a bone in my foot while rushing for the first row (when choosing between taking the stairs and jumping-ALWAYS take the stairs...) and I left right after the gig ended, it was painful enough to jump during the show. And the last time I decided not to wait, just went back home. I don't know. I don't want to be disappointed. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see them next time, probably with the next tour.
  15. I've been to RIX FM gigs a few times. And I am in Sweden now. Today. I will be in Malmö tomorrow. Flying back to Poland. Talk about bad timing huh? Urghh...
  16. It's been some time since I've been here, I love how much was going on! "I met a few of them" LOL!! Which ones?? What did they say?? The Killers afterparty, how cool is that! So this is the gig you wrote about on Facebook.. Glad you enjoyed it! OMG!! That's a one awesome stick!! CONGRATS!! 6 days today! You must be so excitied.. Have a great time! Ok, so.. I've had amazing 10 days, saw them 3 times!! 26.06 in Hyde Park and on Sunday and Monday in Royal Albert Hall. I remember moaning a few months ago how they're my favourite band and how I can't get the tickets and miss out on things. Well, if someone told me I'll see them twice in RAH I'd laugh in their face. Hyde Park was amazing! Got first row thanks to my lovely sister. It was her first TK gig and it was so nice to be able to enjoy it with her. She's a traveler so we don't see each other often. And I'm sooo happy she loved it. They finished the encore and left and she was like "Aga!! It can't possibly be the end already! They'll come back right?! I WANT MORE!!!" It made me grin... I had stalls tickets for the first RAH gig. It was so nice to be able to enjoy my Sunday, knowing my spot is secured and leave for the venue an hour before the gig.. TK were really good, though a bit nervous. Sadly, people in my area, though obviously enjoying the gig a lot, weren't very expressive. I felt a bit weird being the only one sometimes singing the parts Brandon wanted us to sing. I was so loud, they all looked at me in an odd way sometimes. I didn't care. I was in freaking Royal Albert Hall listening to The Killers, band I love so much, recording their first DVD. Who'd care? Second night was much better though. Not only cause I had a standing ticket and managed to get to the front row, but the audience was so into the gig. TK felt it and they loved it! They played two more songs in the encore! The only problem was that in order to get to the first row I jumped on to the general admission area instead of taking the stairs and the jump turned out to be a bit unfortunate. I felt sudden pain but rushed to the barrier. Stood on the other leg before the gig so it was ok but as soon as TK hit the stage I started jumping and didn't stop for two hours. That really didn't help my poor foot. I didn't feel the pain during the gig but it hit me hard when it'd finished. I had to take a bus to the tube station even though it'd take me like 5 minutes to walk there. I barely made it home and sadly didn't manage to go to work today. But I can now move 2 of my toes, progress is being made And it was so worth it!! They are mind-blowing. Their songs just come to life when being played live. They put their hearts in the performance every time I see them. They are true artists. I so can't wait for the DVD. I can already recommend it to you guys hehe Oh, second thing I didn't like. mandilanbi, can you believe I STILL have not heard Neon Tiger live?? This is ridiculous. They better play it in Poland in August! Ok, gotta go put some more ice on my foot, I'm kinda happy I'll have 4 gigless weeks now.
  17. Jejku, nic nie wiedzialam o tych problemach. Jak juz napisalam na szaucie, I'm in oczywiscie jesli chodzi o oplaty. Moje raporty z 2008 zabieraja pewnie 1/4 miejsca
  18. Because I have absolutely no strong will when it comes to Mika, I've already started looking for ways to travel there. Even though I wrote an hour ago that I'm defo not going. However, turns out that I'm leaving for holidays that day. Have fun those who are going, I'm sure he'll make this day special
  19. Sounds great but way too expensie for me. Well, it cost me more to go to Berlin but that's something else And uhm.. I really don't think Isle of Wight is in Ireland Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_Wight http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bestival
  20. Can't believe I made it to a billboard article.. I'm one of the dozens! I'm famous! I would like to thank all the people I invaded with. I wouldn't have made it without you
  21. Not quite the same boat as me I didn't get a text, found out what the announcement is around noon, when it was uhm, announced
  22. I thought I saw her later, standing with his family, but wasn't sure if it was her. OMG, that's a one cool grandmother! And she was screaming 'MORE!!'???? AWESOME!!
  23. Thank you! This is exactly how I feel about what happened yesterday with the stage invasion. It's risky when you invite people on stage, some will be respectful and some will poke him on his legs constantly while he's singing on the piano trying to make him look their way in order to take a photo of him (girl with black hair standing next to me on the left side, I had to restrain myself from starting to poke her). Also, I don't agree with the 'people sometimes behave like this cause they're caught in the moment, they're going crazy cause Mika is so close' statements. You're either the kind of person who will give him some space and respect or you're gonna run and hug him the moment you have the opportunity. I LOVED the stage invasion. For me it was a perfect ending of a perfect gig. I don't regret doing it but if I hear Mika saying he's done with invasions my feet ain't gonna touch the stage. Nevermore And about seated venues. They can be as much fan as the standing ones. It only depends on you. I wasn't lucky with the London presale, ended up in the 5th row, most of the people there weren't very enthusiastic and yet I've never had that much fun on a Mika gig before. And surprisingly it was never awkward for me with standing/seating/dancing/jumping. It was just
  24. Oh you should be! I love how you always make sure I have a pic with him Good day for wearing a white shirt eh? Cause he knows I'm right behind him
