Songs for Sorrow!

3) MIKA!

Muse is coming to Finland again next summer! But I had to say no to them, because I can only afford one gig, and my gig will be - Mika! This will be my first time seeing him live, so I'm excited excited. But, Museeeee. I hadn't seen that before. Hm, what an interesting piece of clothing!

She was talking mostly about haiku, I think. Me and my short memory... But I'm quite sure it was haiku, since I remember reading a few examples. Yes, that's rigt. It's because the sounds are mostly the same in both languages. Although I think the Japanese might have some difficulties pronouncing the Finnish "R", since it's much stronger than the Japanese one. I heard that for some Japanese people it's hard to hear the difference between the letters R and L.

Okane ga nai is so good! I've watched Hetalia. It's quite hilarious. (I swear I had something a bit more intelligent in my mind about this, but I completely forgot.)

The writer was talking about Japanese poetry, where a lot is said with just a few words. And according to her the language is almost the same. I can't really explain it, but I have this thought very organised in my head. My mother language is Finnish. So at least pronouncing Japanese is easy for me.

We had balloons too! They looked so cool, almost made me jealous of those people who were down there to have fun with them. (I had a seat.) No need to shut up! I love Muse and I like to read other people's opinions about them. Muse is just much more than a band. They make music that is more than music. Every time I listen to them, it feels like there's nothing bad in this world, there's just that music. I can't really describe it, so I'll stop trying. I changed all the music in The Sims to Muse, so now I get to listen to Muse every time I play.

I love Suzuki-san! I think when I get a dog I will name him Suzuki-san. Just because it's almost too adorable. I like how Kino's Journey is so calm. I have mostly been watching series where a lot happens, so it was a nice change. Do you happen to know any other series that are more calm? It's quite hard to look for them when you really don't know what you're looking for... -___- This is off-topic, but I got curious; do you read original fiction or fanfiction?

I will surely ask when I have some questions in my mind. I must say I find the structure of sentences in Japanese quite challenging. But last night I was reading a book about Japanese aesthetics and culture, and it gave me a new point of view to the language. I think after this I'll find it slightly easier to understand how the language works.

No, it's not yaoi. Kino's Journey has a girl and a talking motorcycle and together they travel around the world. They encounter different countries with different lifestyles, for example a country where the people are waiting for the end of the world, a country where the arriving people have to fight each other and a country where everything is done by computers. It's quiten interesting, and so beautiful. I started to watch Junjou Romantica last night. The two episodes I watched seemed good so I'm definately going to watch the rest of it too.

Death Note is my favourite manga, the anime wasn't as good as that but still well executed. And One Piece is absolutely hilarious! I have totally fallen in love with Kino's Journey. It was so calm and philosophical, just beautiful. I haven't watched Jonjou Romantica, but it's on my list. I should have time to watch it quite soon. Yey!

Would anyone be interested in writing with me? I'm from Finland.

I just randomly decided to pop by and say that I really love Japanese and I'm going to apply to university to study it next spring. I started a language course this autumn so I can't really say much yet. But yeah.

Wow, why didn't I know about this thread before? I like: Kino's Journey, Death Note, Paranoia Agent, Naruto, One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm going start watching Bleach at some point, I've been reading the manga and it's good. I also love everything by Hayao Miyazaki (although I haven't seen all of his movies), The Grave of the Fireflies, The Cat Returns and The Ocean Waves. I have bought The Whisper of the Heart too, but haven't watched it yet. (Also, I can't get enough of yaoi. )

Those photos are just super! Thank you for sharing. Those remind me of the gig back in October. It's been such a long time already! I've been becoming even a bigger Muse fan ever since the gig. I even replaced all the music files in The Sims 2 with Muse. Now I can listen to Muse every time I play.
