  1. Hey Mika My best greetings on your 25th birthday and my warmest congratulation to your family for having you! I haven’t had a possibility to be on your shows, yet, but I have watched L’Olympia DVD many times – I love it – and then many other little pieces of your shows on Youtube. Noooo, now I lied to you, it just occured to me that I’ve been at your show at Francofolies virtually thru internet. That “gig” was short as lasted about 15 min, if I recall correct, but for me it was very special as for the first time to be in the online concert. On the one hand I knew that it really was a live transmission from the venue, but however, my conscious for some reason resisted to believe it as up to that day I had seen only the recordings of your shows. So, that was quite an experience to remember. Thank you! Look forward to be at present on some of your REALLY REAL shows, soon. Take care! h. P.S. This time I wanted to leave my congrats on your blog but looks like you didn't want them there (kidding). MFC is a cool place, too. Hope you'll receive them anyway.
  2. I hate my computer I was was sending the post when it decided to make a restart while I was getting my coffee. And I had to start again and it's not easy at all as words must be chosen very carefully otherwise you'd be in .. jungle. I'm afraid we are speaking about different things. I was summarising up the posts to which I replied as they were patronising and referred to another thread which I had read weeks ago while you are obviously talking about the issue of that miserable song that had been uploaded in YT as Mika's new song. However I think that your reaction to the poor girl was a bit harsh and you got quickly support. (Was it a A,B,C thingy? ) Hopefully it was not meant to be hard and it just seemed so as we are writing not speaking to each other here and it may cause misunderstandings. I have never said that there is systemic problem within MFC where newbies are regularly treated with contempt, I can't recall saying that there are lower class and upper class in MFC. But I have noticed that there are someones who are stressing - in their tiny lightly way - some aspects that probably made other people feel like they were being disadvantaged or belonging in a lower class. I find it's ridiculous from both sides and very high-school as someone fittingly said early on. All this is not my cup of tea. I am certainly not in a upper class as my only connection to Mika is 9 albums/singles of his that I have bought +1 that is on a waiting list and I doubt whether that argument is tough enough to belong to club and on the other side as I have never ever felt being trashed by anyone as most times I have got what I wanted and I had enough luck to meet nice people everywhere I was going (would it be to go to a college and then university, or start with the new job/profession as I did recently) and hence the idea of classes/hierarchy is really unknown to me. But if some people feel so... I don't have a solution... But I speak up if I see that people, even if I'm not being involved, are treated without respect. I just can't be shut up. Today I was checking the Stella-thread and person who posted the pics seemed to be a bit hesitated whether it was OK or not. And no-one answered her but as older members were commenting then it seemed to be OK. But, I also checked the guidelines and ready to withdraw back what I said about uploading pics. If the rules were not being corrected lately then I must have got that wrong picture from posts I have read. However, posts from other people in the thread refer that I was not the only one who had got it wrongly. Thus, as summa summarum it is good to know finally how things are going. I hope that you didn't feel attacked from my side. As a fact I was not worried so much about pics things because I am ignorant to that stuff I was pissed off because of the patronising posts and then used pics issue as an example the stuff that was confusing for me. I thought that if I'd say my point in general "someone said to someone about something on some other thread" which is quite common it may drive people crazy as people who are not involved, at all, may take it as they are involved. Didn't aim to cause a chaos. I still think that describing people whom many people haven't seen but eagerly would like to, only feeds curiosity and will lead to next thread like this. If other people don't see a problem, fine with me. I'm not getting better or worse of that. Are we OK with you, now? *I have noticed that my postman has become flirting with me as since I found Mika and started to buy CDs I also started to see my postman and now it occurred to me that he might think that I want to see him * I didn't catch the point, actually. Are you saying that I did when I was joining MFC? Why are you attacking me? God bless you. You know, when you write a patronising post it is perceived like someone is shouting on you. I never let myself shout on other people and I also never let people to shout on me even if it would be Prime Minister or President himself. I am not going to make an exception for you either. *Why should newbies want you to kiss them, you are so nervous? * Is the rest of the post worth to be replied further? NO!
  3. Ooo, little Tjorven, Batsman and Moses. Love the book!
  4. As being the one who had turned the thread active again I feel I have a responsibility to say something: At first, I wish I could change the title of the thread. Babspanky's and dcdeb's, are you talking about/to me? Trust me, I have anything personal to people here as I don't know anyone personally. But I stand for that the older members of MFC were patronising newbies in the thread some "pages" ago and that really pissed me off. If you read the posts again you'll see how newbies are ordered to wait their turn, it sounded like "you don't know the history, so shut up and look around and preferably silent". And now I'm patronising myself and telling that do not come to tell me that it was not so and end of discussion. (Translation: I know what I am talking about as making of structural text analysis gives me my daily bread and these posts are like the examples from a textbook.) I have read posts where old members were commenting newbies when they asked things. I never felt being insulted personally. Maybe I would be if I were more active in posting/chatting and had visited more threads than I do and if I hadn't been so busy as I was within last weeks so I managed to come to MFC only 1-2 times in a week. But at the moment, as you see there are people who say that they had experienced bad treatment from fellow MFCers, and there were people who admitted that too as were trying to make it better saying that it was just slightly ironic, etc. It was interesting to read the posts of old members on this thread of yesterday which were -I'd say - quite demanding and mocking, but no-one asked what a f..., why do newbies say/feel so and try to start clear it up as they got more experience and knowledge. I still insist that there is much confusion with some things what is accepted and what is not as there are written rules which should be followed but then again in threads here and there you can see that some people are skipping these rules and gave the examples of these cases what I saw questionable. So I posed a question - what to do? Don't get me wrong, I am not worried about uploading pictures related to Mika and his family myself and never had problems with mods. I know, I'm a s... fan from that point of view as no contribution from my side. /---/ (nothing to mention about, just some little facts) but I keep crediting the privacy rules as much I will never drip them here, even not in the slightest way. Nevertheless, there are some confusing issues about "a-ok"s and "no-go"s to me and in order to avoid the problems I think the rules must be either revised/more specified or, then, all mfc-ers must be liable to follow them without making exceptions like "oh, that was tiny-minor description" etc. as such things normally course interest and there are evidentally many people who are eager to know any tiny further detail related to Mika. I do hope my post didn't harm anyone's feelings, if so, please let me know either by PM in return or leave a post here and I am sure we can find the way out. Have a nice Sunday, h P.S. Previewed my post I must admit that it became too long (again! Sry), but I think the subject needed more detailed approach.
  5. Hey, chickadee. I know what you mean. Actually there is even a theory about this, unfortuantely can't remember how it is called. But the main idea of the theory is that if B likes A and A likes C, then in most cases B likes C too. Now it's my turn to be worried if I was clear enough to make a point to you :roftl: How about this: if MFCers fancy Mika and Mika fancies Yelle, then most probably MFCers fancy Yelle too. But now I am in hurry as my spa procedures are crying for me. Hope to be back in the evening. Ciao!
  6. I know that she appears with Mika in his gigs, concerts, etc. I don't know how much she had voluntarily splashed her pics over magazines and papers, but I do have read warnings (more like requests) from mods not to post pics of his family members besides Mika himself and his sister Yasmine here and I'm pretty sure they didn't mean that their request involved only someone's non-professional shots. And as far as I have noticed from guidelines and have read from forum Yasmine wasn't a public figure from the beginning either . I remember that I read someone's gig report where the person reported that she had a nice chit-chat with M. mum and had taken a pic with M. sis Yasmine at M&G party @Brixton but since Y. asked not post her pic in forums she didn't. By that time Yasmine had given interviews in TV and got a media coverage during the art exhibition last summer. But in MFC she was still treated like not a public person. How to be then? Actually, I think that we shouldn't argue about that issue. EDIT: I think MFC rules should be followed, and by each single person in MFC. I am aware of that. But since there are many people and she is not "marked out" you can't say that once been in a clip makes a person a public figure. According to your theory the girls who are in BG vid are public figures, too. (Now I need someone who could help me with laugh ) But off to bed now:wink2:
  7. Hey! I'm sorry but this is called patronising. I know, for you it was more like giving some instructions. You made a good point that the best way would be to ignore sick curiosity. But I have seen Christine's reply to someone's curious request and she was describing people although it should have been ignored. And then another from sariflor making compliments to Mika's mom's jewellery (pic from Stella McCartney's pizza house opening party) and I was much like as I knew that his mom was not a public person then (correct me if I'm mistaken but as much as I understood his mom stepped into public eye only in the end of June?) and I was expecting to see a reaction like "Hey!! what are you doing?? " from people here. But no-one said that. You are patronising again. .... No, not in any community. Trust me. Unless you have mostly had a poor luck to meet more s*** than good people. I received the MFC guidelines to my email when I was registering in. Actually I had already read them through much earlier when I saw the link in dcdeb's siggie. I'm not saying that I am a living high standard person, I was curious to get a picture about the place here (as you know there are many other Mika forums too). And I liked the rules of privacy that were put down there and found it be an intelligent way to manage things. /--- / Therefore, finding out the rules made me evaluate the MFC forum. Now I admit that I was naive then as I thought that people were following these rules... I have noticed same thing you are pointing to. In the beginning it was difficult as I was heavily confused about the rules form one and the reality on the other side. Now I just ignore those posts or amuse myself learning how duplicitous people can be sometimes. MFC website is a little projection of the world with similar goods and bads. You are just patronising. I respect you Niki, I don't have any reason not to, but at the present moment you are patronising. You are one smart woman! Hope that's you on the picture you use as your avatar and I didn't insult you calling you a woman. In the internet you can never be sure 100% . Sometimes washing dishes manually is very relaxing *smile* I'd like to hear about your experiences with one *roftl* LOL You are sometimes so funny and sometimes I have a feeling that you are here not only for chatting ... Christine, are you spinning? You do a great job, dcdeb. My huge respect. *thumb_yello* I 'm sure it was't meant as an accusation towards mods, I think it was meant more generally, mostly as old vs new. It is very easy to misinteprete written text and take it as accusation while discussing of tough issues and when you can't hear a tone of a human voice. Welcome to club! I asked FD to give me some guidance about LICM Russian release as I suspect that album was never released originally and the ones that are circulating are pirates. Wanted to check out with FD as he posted the discography list up, but got a very weird response from him. Now I cheer myself up with what Allegra said about his appearance, that explains a lot to me. *smile* Safely euphemistic Poor you! LOL
  8. Hello! Has anyone in MFC got the LICM Russia release? I mean the original not a bootleg? Many thanks for your help!
  9. A million per cent agree with you! I share your feeling *it makes me constantly smile*
  10. IGNORANT!! :roftl: *I thought whether to add that you probably may not be interested when... * But still, have a fun!

  16. Must admit, I don't have any of my own because of lack of time. I'm too busy with other people blogs and MFC forum And actually I live on the continent but we do have many islands and lots of people go to some of them to spend their weekend. You are very welcome to come and witness it on your own. (in august my country turns into a little italy as many italians come over to spend their holidays here, some of them have even bought a house here. They say they like the climate, but I don't believe them unless they don't enjoy unexpected weather )
  17. Hey, Freddiesdouble! Have you seen the album somewhere on your own or do you have the track number? Does this one (below) have a dark blue coloured sleeve with Mika, Dawack, etc drawn picture on the cover? Thanks for your help!
  18. Hey girl, your humour may kill!!! Did you know that? Don't worry. I think he is having a good time somewhere ( perhaps in Zahle area in the mountains with amazing views around and where's the temp is not so hot as in Beirut in summer?), and right now is being started with the 5th course of his delicious supper:wink2: Check it out http://www.middleeast.com/zahle.htm
  19. ohohohoooo! I've been watching all your clips twice and probably will watch tomorrow and the day after tomorrow and ... Thank you! May I you? h
  20. Oh, dear Dana and Cubitus! Thank you for your reports. I understand everything went exactly the way as I imagined it would go when Lebanese are involved It knew it would be worth to get up early this morning despite I'd arrived very late last evening and had got sleep only few hours. Have a nice continue to your summer holiday and give a hug to your lovely country on behalf of me. h Hi Racha!Thank you!!! It was fully interesting reading. Looks like you had a wonderful time
  21. Initially the lowest price at Virgin Megastore online ticket sales was 30000 LL. Is it ca 20-22 usd? Don't forget about saudis and other wealthy people of region who used to travel to Lebanon for summer. They can afford high prices.
  22. Not so newsy about the gig but still something "We expect over 10,000 people to attend Mika on Sunday," said event organiser Wafa Saab (The Daily Star, July 26). http://www.dailystar.com.lb/article.asp?edition_ID=1&article_ID=94514&categ_id=1
