  1. Thank you for the clarification... a lot of things get lost in translation... it feels good to know that ti was not malicious.. thanks again..
  2. Am so glad you enjoyed your short trip to Lebanon... I guess you are right, different cultures + different sense of humour... nothing personal Thanks for the explanation... I guess it is similar everywhere when you hit people with tomatoes in Lebanon means you want them off the stage... pillow fight on the other hand is just being playful and having fun... Yeah, I didn't get the big asses part either... maybe in japan it's a good thing... I like the new trend... let's hope the cushions/pillows are well stuffed with feathers... that can easily take over Mika's confetti finale
  3. Many thanks, it feels good to know that fans all the way from Japan came to Lebanon for the gig.. I went through the blog, doesn't look like they think very highly of Lebanese people - blog filled with jokes about Lebanese people.. I am hoping it's simply "Japanese humour" - that I simply didn't get...
  4. Pictures from the gig http://s765.photobucket.com/albums/xx299/cheshirecatfotos/Mika%20in%20Baalbeck/?start=all
  5. I just uploaded two more videos.. very small ones.. horrible quality.. but might interest some.. please remember, I used my mobile phone.. so the quality is bad... lower your expectations Mika joking about his grandmother: Relax:
  6. Hello evrybody! I hope you enjoyed the live feed of the gig.. it was so much fun... one of the best gigs ever! as I said before, I didnt have a camera on me so everything i took was with my horrible mobile phone camera.. so the quality is horrible.. and you will need to use your imagination.. Sorry to hear that Enigma froze.. I knew how the weather is going to be and had extra jacket on me.. but the weather was beautiful.. the set fantastic.. so much effort is made to make it look amazing.. the overall crowd had so many diverse ages and social groups... all had one thing in common their love of music and partying.. and they proved it to Mika.. the only difference is that not everybody knew all the lyrics word for word (which is more common in Europe)... but everyone shook their hips and jumped up and down... of course, like in every gig, there will be those off teenage girls and boys that invade the stage and try to hug mika... but the overall crowd was civilized and genuinely enjoyed their time.. the location is magical.. I have seen a concert there before.. .it it always gives me goose bumps to be in the middle of a magical Roman temple with thousands of people enjoying music.. Mr Penniman had so much energy.. he was friendly and at ease... big smile at all times... very theatrical as usual... I sensed a great vibe from the whole band.. like they are a bunch of friends performing.. . His voice was great.. too bad my video doesn't give it justice... For a Lebanese, it sure made me proud as he mentioned it several times how proud he is.. .and jokingly explained how weak is his arabic.. although it wasn't at all.. and I was very impressed with his vocab ... though his accent is that of an English man The show was entertaining.. he was very energetic.. .like he drank a dozen of red bulls... over my shoulder was amazing.. his voice intact.. and the whole crowd froze in amazement... he dedicated it to us... and told us that he always wanted to sing it in Lebanon since he wrote it at the age of 15.. . We are Golden started the craziness... this is when the whole crowd took the seat cushions out and started throwing them in the air... it sort of reminded me of my graduation day when we all threw our hats ... Mika was pleasantly surprised and even started reciprocating by throwing a bunch of cushions back at the crowd .. this stayed till the end... when he left and the stage invasion started... I was exhausted and had to leave immediately... saw John the manager and said hello.. he was the same gentleman as always.. saw the cameraman... as always taking footage of the event... I have some low resolution pictures that are really bad.. but if you want I can upload... will also share the videos.. though I only took 2 since i didnt have a good camera and didnt want to waste it looking into a lense instead of jumping up and down xxx
  7. I agree with sariflor... I know it wasn't a mystery ... at least not to me... but I do think it was his coming out gig... no doubt about it... even a blind dog can see the message he was trying to get across to his gay fans.. he was very much in his element and felt like he belonged there... really a very good gig... Andy was there, he was standing next to me.. and I have uploaded the video with the fans onstage... I agree with sariflor again, I did not see anything out of the ordinary - he did not look uncomfortable... well, you watch it and be the judge... - End of The concert (Grace Kelly + Lollipop and the stage with his fans) I think it was a very intimate and almost a "thank you" gig to the gay community ... to his good old days when he used to go there himself as a teenager... it was a very special performance... I would even compare it to his performance in Beirut... The gig is not a regular one... it was in a gay nightclub.. and those who haven't been to a gay nightclub before might find the scene a little" different" ... I personally love the freedom, the attitude, the whole vibe...
  8. Hellloooo more videos uploaded - End of The concert (Grace Kelly + Lollipop and the stage with his fans) - Rain and We are Golden + a little story about his good old days @ scala: - Blue Eyes - Dr Johns:
  9. when the videos are done uploading - they will be under this address http://www.youtube.com/user/cheshirecat76 I was lucky that I did not stand front row.. I guess those who did got the usual pushy treatment... I was standing at the back - so everyone around me was civilized and was not pushed - in fact managed to drink, dance, sing, take videos and chit chat all at the same time... as for the public display of affection... I am used to gay clubs and bars... it is quiet normal... that's why the crowd was 18+
  10. Am uploading on youtube the last two encore songs he sang when the crowd joined on stage... it is 200MB.. so it will take sometime to upload... In the meantime, I will go to bed... the computer should be Okay without me monitoring it...
  11. He did mention that it was the first time he comes back to this club with his mom... I found that super cute...
  12. Well, from day one he left it up to his fans to interpret things anyway they want... he was never too shy with his lyrics, friends, opinions... but he never answered any questions that are too personal directly...
  13. Report: I did not arrive very early.. as I have planned to meet my friends first in Soho... by the time I reached there it was past 10:30 pm... I went to the VIP area (not knowing it was the VIP area) - stood there and mingled with the crowd (there was no security).... by the time we realized this is te VIP area - we moved gracefully to the back of the room - where we could have a great view without being touched and pushed by anyone... it was a great location - and it was also on the same level as the stage everyone was friendly... the overall crowd was young - obviously mostly gay.. which was great... Mika was topless from beginning to end.. I think he enjoyed it - as he looked very comfortable Music was great... the sound system was good... he looked happy and very much in his element... and several times very reminiscent of his teenage years when he used to go to this gay club and wait for someone to buy him a drink or dance in the lower level dance floor - it seems this club meant a lot to him and brought back lots of good memories... I met several MFC people - but did not stand with them ad I was with a friend... the overall atmosphere was great.. very friendly... at the end - some of his fans did come up to the stage - and a couple of guys kissed and hugged him - but no big deal really... Mika was high fiving a lot of the male fans front row and he even took one of the fans' camera and started taking pictures in one of the songs while performing...
  14. Great gig!!!! loved every minute.... I think Mika was really himself.. and was enjoying as much as we were... the crowd wasn't too bad.. I actually liked the whole atmosphere... It looks like he is finally in his element... one of the most intimate gigs... pics, report and videos to follow shortly....
  15. I just got back from the gig... I have never seen Mika so much in his element... he was among his people... so good to see him comfortable with his sexuality, energy and music... he rocked tonight! it was great... pics and video to follow.... it was indeed a great gig....
  16. OKAY... Mika and Soho on the same night... am in London heaven so, how to I buy the tickets... the link didn't work for me.. are there still available tickets? is there another website?
  17. Awww, sorry to hear about that... hope things will get better okay, so it's been a while I haven't seen Mika on TV... great performance.. wish it was more acoustic... but in any case, it was very very good... his vocals were so good that it actually sounded like a recording... The set is a little Mika-ish... which is a combo of weird and artsy... am not a huge fan of mannequins nor was I a fan of clowns... but I guess it is his trademark style now... He really looked in shape... probably had a blast wearing something different for every song... most were very nice outfits... especially the all white with a reddish belt on his hips.. leasr fav was the skeletal mechanic look... though he did look like he is having a blast while dancing in that outfit... now, music.... wow... this album can easily top LICM - at least if it was up to me... the most interesting part was hearing "when I see you" - which I only realized today that I have heard a rough version of it as a demo ages ago - which I will not talk about further as it is a big no no here... but in summary it is a fantastic song... The interview bit was a little timid.. he looked almost uncomfortable... but as always - very fabulous...
