  1. *Proud Irish Fan right here!* Thanks for posting!
  2. I'm good at drawing, but most of the time I can't read my own handwriting it's so bad! They're very different things!
  3. I hadn't noticed the god/God thing he wrote, that's very cool!
  4. I love Mika. I just... yeah. Everytime I read a new interview with him, he always manages to say one or two things that, like his music, are expressed lightly or with nonchalance, but actually dismiss an entire aspect of the social world, or culture, or whatever, something utterly stupid that prevales regardless. And he's just so outside it, so aware of what and who he is, and so unashamed of it. 'Apparently you're supposed to lie to make life as easy as possible. Anyway...' Just, brilliant. I really do love this man.
  5. I'm not a non-fan of Dita's, but I don't see what's so appealing about her either. I know virtually nothing about her personality because her appearance is basically all people ever talk about, and I'm not really into that. That said, I like that she's obviously quirky, and that suits Mika. Unlike a lot of you, I don't think they'd make a good romantic couple, but I do think they make a fantastic couple of friends.
  6. I want that lyric sheet so badly. I've actually apologised to my Twitter followers for the amount of spamming that I'm going to be doing on basically a daily basis. I want the sheet LOL! Also, with regard to the stage singers... omggggggg. I hope he comes to Ireland, and asks for them here. I would SO BE RIGHT UP THERE. Trying not to scream his own songs in his face. No but seriously it'd be a kickass thing to do.
  7. Oh god. The hair. I wish he would grow it back, it was so purdy.
  8. I have a question about interpretation of the lyrics - The lines 'And I wish there was a way to give you a hand to hold, because you don't have to die in your glory; die to never grow old.' I keep flipping between two interpretations of those lines and I'm wondering what other people think he means by them. Interpretation #1: He's basically telling the kids/soldiers they don't have to die in order to maintain a kind of youth - you can live and live young at heart your whole life. This is the interpretation I initially took, but I'm not sure how it fits in the context of the rest of the song. Interpretation #2: He's referring back to the 'being broke with a devil in your head, thinking you'd be better off dead' - and implying that he wants to give them a hand to hold because now, though they didn't die in the war, they're so broken now that they will never grow old, in the sense of living your life out the way it should be lived, and reaching the end of it with satisfaction. Thoughts?
  9. This is fantastic haha. Such a fantastic interview. Mika is such a character! Smooth and sassy at the same time!
  10. Songs of the standard edition Origin Of Love: 10/10 Lola: 5/10 Stardust: 5/10 Make You Happy (Miami Edit / with strings): 8/10 Underwater: 9/10 Overrated: 9/10 Kids: 7/10 Love You When I’m Drunk: 6/10 Step With Me: 8/10 Popular Song: 7/10 Emily: 9/10 Heroes: 8/10 Celebrate: 5/10 Bonus tracks Elle Me Dit: 9/10 Celebrate (acoustic): 5/10 Origin of Love (acoustic): 9/10 Kids (acoustic): 7/10 Love You When I'm Drunk (acoustic): 6/10 Overrated (acoustic): 9/10 Make You Happy (LA Edit / shortfilm-version): 8/10 Tah Dah: 7/10 There are some bonus tracks I haven't heard, so I left them out. I'm amazed by the love for 'Stardust'. I think it's incredible mediocre, and would hate for it to be a single. I'm also surprised I've given the only 10 for 'Origin Of Love', which I think is probably the most accomplished song on the album, if not my favourite.
  11. I love this song so much. It's amazing. Took me a while to listen to the lyrics properly, but once I did I realised how brave a song it is, and how sincere. I also adore the foreign language bit with the autotune haha, it's AMAZING. I hate autotune usually. Mika makes it amazing. The whole song is a bit of an epic, really, despite being only 4.5 mins long.
  12. I'm a huuuuug fan of Merlin. Absolutely love it, and have since day 1! Can't wait til Season 5. I have to admit, Colin Morgan is far more my type than Mr. James, though I do like them both
  13. Thanks! And it's nice to see a familiar name haha!
  14. If I had been in Dublin I would have gone, but I had work on Friday morning and I had no idea where he'd be anyway. I'll definitely check out the thread! The TG4 interview won't be aired for a while, it's now a stock interview. Apparently he's not charting here at the moment or something, so they'll use the interview in the future when it's relevant. That's what my friend told me. I was like HGJDHFKDHGJF AIR IT. He has no say in it though.
  15. I adore both versions. Easily one of (two of?) my favourite songs on the album. I like that they're from two different perspectives, and that now I can learn the song in both French and English and when I'm singing the French version and people go, 'do you even know what you're saying?' I can pretend I do by switching to the English version XD
  16. I love this whole album. When I heard that it was going to be simpler and less layered than the previous album, I was a little nervous.... but of course I shouldn't have been. It's amazing. It's so technically accomplished - on both of the previous albums, there were a couple of songs that were a tad lacklustre, or technically underwhelming, or generally just forgettable. But this album... is amazing. I have to admit, I'm not mad about 'Celebrate', funnily enough, considering it's single-status, but it's my least favourite song. The rest of the album though, is so adventurous, it was the PERFECT move for Mika to make - it clearly comes from such a happy place - there are other emotions in there too because other emotions are the thing by virtue of which we can even experience happiness to begin with, but its true - there's so much solidarity, bravery and adventure in all the songs, musically and lyrically. Funnily enough, even though I agree it's conceptually simpler than TBWKTM, it's more cohesive, and in it's own way it's just as complex. I actually think it, in its entirety, is the purest representation of Mika to date.
  17. I think this is my favourite song off the new album. It was no surprise to find 95 pages of discussion on it! It's very hard to choose a favourite, because when I'm listening to the album I'm like, 'this one.... no no, this one. No THIS one.' But Underwater is just stunning, I love the lyrics, and like Mika says himself in the 'making of' video, it's a ballad but it still makes you move! The chorus is so ethereal, and I adore the origins of the song, and just everything. I don't think it's the most accomplished song on the album (there's far too much adventure in the other songs for this one to be the best), but it's possibly the most beautiful. I do think it's my favourite.
  18. I'm torn about this song. On the one hand, I love the verses and lyrics... but I'm really not sure about the use of the Overrated chorus. I loved the original demo of Overrated so much, and had always hoped it would become a proper song some day, and now it definitely won't, so I'm sad about that. That said, while I don't like the chorus in the new version, I do actually really love the new version, and the way he sings the verses is just fhfhgjdfhdkh *melts*
  19. I actually need to learn how to speak French. XD
