Being new here, I'm feeling all shy about posting but I've gotta start somewhere so I guess I'll start here (though I did already post an introduction) Not many people know about my Mika "obsession": My mom knew that I was looking forward to the release of his new CD. When she would ask me who it was I would just say "a person". I figure she wouldn't remember his name anyway (like when I mention my favorite athletes I refer to them as "my guys" ). One time when she heard me listening to LICM she asked me what kind of music it was...I told her it was "pop"...Lollipop was the song playing at the time and she said something like "I like this", that got a big from me I don't know if my mom realizes that it's always Mika's music that I'm listening to, but she always catches me singing along. I'm usually shy about that too, but now I've gotten over it and when she walks in the room I keep on singing I swear she always walks in when I'm singing along with One Foot Boy, and that's a song that you can't stop in the middle of, ya gotta keep singing My sister may have seen where I have mentioned Mika, but unless she got curious and looked him up she probably doesn't know who he is and she hasn't asked me about him. The next time she visits she will most likely get introduced to his music because I'm sure I'll be playing it when she is around I remember talking about Mika on another message board last year when I bought the LICM CD and I think even before that when I first heard Grace Kelly, but I haven't mentioned him on there recently. I know that one of the people that I talk to there likes at least some of Mika's music.

I thought I'd make my first post an introduction post...so hello from America! My name is Becky, I'm from Michigan. I guess I'll first tell you my "Mika history". I'm not exactly a new fan. I first remember noticing Mika's name mentioned on other message boards probably in 2007 I think it was around the end of 2007 when I finally heard Grace Kelly...if I remember right I heard it on a Sirius Satellite Radio station which at that time I listened to through satellite TV (which I no longer have ). I really liked the song, but after awhile I didn't hear it anymore. Then I think it was around late spring/early summer of last year when an internet friend of mine sent me a CD with some of her favorite songs on it and she included Happy Ending. I really liked that song as well. I think it was also around that same time that I started seeing the video for Grace Kelly as part of Gavin DeGraw's Hit List on MTV Hits (a Hit List is where an artist hosts an hour of their favorite videos). I was a big Gavin DeGraw fan at the time, so I watched it whenever I found it on and every time I looked forward to seeing the Grace Kelly video. Finally, July of last year I bought the LICM CD I listened to it a lot, but after awhile it got put in with the rest of my CDs and I didn't listen to it all that often anymore (I always seem to do that, my aim is to get rid of the clutter, but then I end up not listening to CDs very often...I feel very ashamed, at least this time ). So, how did I finally end up here?? Well, at the beginning of September I noticed where somebody on twitter mentioned that Mika had a new song/video (We Are Golden). I had not known that he had a new CD being released. Since I was already a fan of his music, I made a mental note to check it out on Youtube. Later that night while suffering from boredom I remembered about the video. The first time I watched it I wasn't sure what I thought about it. After the second time I was hooked I ended up spending around 4 hours that night watching Mika videos/performances on Youtube, reading stuff here and browsing through all of his twitter updates Also one of the first things I did was get out my copy of LICM. Then for the next 2 and a half weeks all I talked about was how I couldn't wait for the release of TBWKTM and I got the deluxe version the day it came out. Since then I've gone totally Mika crazy and figured it was time for me to join the rest of you here I'm not sure what else to say about me. I've always been a huge fan of music. I'm also a big sports fan. I watch many sports although I don't play any. I often get a little too emotionally involved in my favorite sports teams/athletes, but like music I don't know what I'd do without them I also love to read...I actually get upset when I don't save myself some time each day to read Hmmm...I guess that's enough about me...this got kind of long Oops
