  1. Hello everyone, I have two spare tickets for Francofolies de Spa in Belgium next week on Thursday 20 July: If interested, please DM. Thanks!
  2. Hi MFC, It has been a long, long time that I posted anything but the reason for it is that I do not want to give any comments or reviews on every Mika event because everyone has his/her own experience and memories. Anyhow, this year I have been seeing Mika at Bruges, Bertrix and London. I don't do M&G because Mika gives everything on stage and afterwards he has to have his peace. This time however I had a hotel close by (Strand Palace, very recommendable!) so I was very curious to see a m&g (from a distance for obvious reasons); I do so agree with Anna K.K., TTel20 and Kath. At a certain point his bodygard was angry. 'Fans' were pushing and thinking Mika was the 'guy next door'. A girl was pushing him to take a photo with her phone, a man was shouting with a flag of Ukraine etc.Mika was pushed in a corner (watch the videos). Luckily he had the door behind him to escape if necessary. I was behind the group looking at it with astonishment. I will never do a m&g again. If some 'fans' can't be more respectful to a man like Mika, who is too kind and too wellbehaved to make any remarks I respect him even more. Mika deserves respect. He is not a dog to do tricks in a circus like "we payed for you now dance for me". All said and done ,I saw familiar faces, a bunch of respectful fans also, a fantastic, emotional show and preformances that make you think how grateful we must be at some point. Thank you Deb for organising tickets for us, happy to see Kath. Sorry but I am not the sociable type to join the inner circle of MFC I rather stay in the shadows. Also thank you Mika for another exeptional evening. As always it was magic !
  3. YES! I made it to Bercy. Thanks to Flixbus, who believe it or not, just had their stop right next to the venue! Everything went so well I seriously consider to take that bus again in the future. No strike can stop me now! The venue was crowded which is good for Mika but less for me (30 people queueing at the toilets inside!). Made a little walk on Saturday and a little walk on Sunday bumping into the tucks (12!) of Mika so that was a nice surprise. Security was very thorough, 3 times ticket control, 2 times bag control (superficially) and security gates to check for metal objects. The staff was very friendly and everything was well organised as we are used to at Accorhotels Arena. The support acts: Daysy who was a bit full of herself but quite nice and Corine which was the best support act so far and of course 'Freddie' and co during I Want To Break Free! After all that, I started to feel sorry for those who were queueing at the venue from 8AM or earlier and had to wait even more. Meanwhile, I spotted Nikos with his family sitting a few rows below me and a very beautiful Christmas present: Mika's family was there including his mother which means she is feeling better!! They were sitting at the P.A. as the royal family as they should be and it made me smile all evening being happy for him. Finally, Mika came up and everyone went berserk as per usual. At the beginning he was a bit nervous which is normal but as the show went on he relaxed. The playlist is already known by now but he managed to make it different with 2 (!) choirs who were dancing and singing as if their lives depended on it. There were also 2 big screens on each side of the podium, there were 4 snow cannons which was lovely, the French MFC made little airplanes and Mellody did her very best to make a rainbow which had a beautiful effect. Mika was very emotional singing Paloma and as usual I had the waterworks going ! From that moment on, it went from one rollercoaster to another until Happy Ending came and, sad to say, he went on his knees again to beg for silence. The MILUS (Mika I Love U Shouters) couldn't resist to make a 'look-at-me-moment' so from this moment on I shall give no notice anymore of them and refer to them as MILUS . Mika was all over the show captured every moment and managed to make us feel all special although he was the shining star! I also want to do a big applause for the band . I hope they will be staying at Mika's side forever. Leaves me to say, everyone was so enthusiastic and gave so much loving energy to Mika, he was overwhelmed by it. As an encore, he and his band were dancing on Pump Up The Jam and almost everyone danced with them. (By the way, to whom it is of interest, that song was sung by Manuela Kamosi (Antwerp) who lives in Nigeria now and was being play-backed by Fellini Killingi (model of Brussels). She was the face of Technotronic who was produced by Jo Bogaert who lives in my city) More dead than alive but very high I went to bed, had a great breakfast and went home with the Flixbus again. For everyone, a very merry xmas and a healthy, happy lots of Mika year. Even for the MILUS!
  4. Review number two. MIKA Lille France Zenith. Great hotel in the neighbourhood of station and venue. Lots of army/police men. At venue 19.30. Bought some merchandise. Been here before, love the venue if you can sit down like Forest National (yes!) with a great view (yes yes!!). If Forest Belgium was super fantastic, Zenith was Magnus Magnificus. The support act was a young dj girl and she was good (she even played some music from my time !) Thank God not as loud as in Brussels, my ears were happy. The floor show was hilarious with a second Freddy cleaning the stage (I Want To Break Free) Give those guys a raise! Then : smoke, silence...the venue broke loose and there he was : MIKA! Altough I suspect Mika had to be tired from Forest National, it didn't show at all! What a man giving everything he's got! Respect. The sound was better so I could finally understand the storytelling between the songs. I was very moved by it. A laugh and a tear. It was impressive, beautiful, magical and touching. A real rollercoaster of emotions. Mika takes you for a ride you never forget and makes you think or reconsider what life is all about. You can make it out for yourself what to do with it. It is amazing after all this time of no live concerts how much love he gets from his fans and well deserved! He is moving on with his life and takes you with him from Lollipop in his younger period to Origin Of Love and Paloma. If you listen to his lyrics he is telling you his life and that is why I love him. I really enjoyed to be there dancing and singing. Even my hernias took the night off!! Again, just one remark: at the acapella singing of Happy ending it was the same : always people shouting at Mika or talking trough it and I HATE IT! He is so vulnerable at that moment for he has to get his keytone from Tim's guitar and he has to be concentrated. Always there has to be some fools who don't appriciate this paticular moment. So thanks a lot (not)! Anyway, very tired, falling over the bags under my eyes and no voice left but you know : it was worth every minute of it! I'm gonna stay high just untill Paris that is if I get there with all the strike business. Can't they do it at New Years Eve? There is firework at Champs Elysee anyway! I'll try my best though. Home now thanks to Eurostar because TGV to Brussels was cancelled because : yep! on strike! So, now this big girl is getting a big pile of chips and a nice juicy steak, a big bath and a big sleep! Nighty night!
  5. Hi everyone! It has been a while since I was on MFC, but it has been a while I saw Mika too. Kick off for me at Forest National so here is my humble review. I will not trouble you all with parking places, waiting in the cold, strange security guys and very friendly staff at the venue. I will however make one remark on the support act. She was lovely, sung pretty good but the sound, my dears, was horrible! I saw people leave, people keeping their hands on their ears, amongst them yours truly. It was horrifingly loud with a bass that litaraly shook the chairs and floor. For someone with a heart condition it was hell. BUT! Then there was light, and sound, and the band and MIKA !! The whole show was literally a lift-up for everyone. All ages were represented (good for me ha!), all people went out of their minds but hey let's go crazy, let's get nuts. MIKA must had have an applause for at least 3 minutes without doing anything just standing there and let the love flow just because he WAS THERE and we all missed him. He had a great playlist of all the favourite numbers although I wish he would replace Big Girl with Staring At The Sun but that is just my opinion. He invited a young guy to play the piano during Underwater and it was one of those moments you never forget. When he was singing acapella with Happy Ending he was literally begging on his knees to be quiet but as always some (drunk) people had to spoil the moment by shouting. So sad and grrrrr!! Hate that! Have a little respect or stay home. Don't spoil this beautiful moment for another, same thing when he was talking about his mother or singing Paloma, some people have no respect whatsoever. Every Mika fan knows the story behind every song. Anyway, this review is as per usual too long but I hope you girls and guys enjoyed reading it. Up to Lille now, Paris is on hold by strikes. Having had an Email from Thalys for a refund doesn't look good. Won't go by car and find it toasted in a riot so thanks Macron. Review for Lille is next
  6. I didn't have the pleasure to meet David personally but I did see him on several Mika gigs so I offer my condolences. This must be a big loss for his family and friends. It's always very sad and shocking to loose someone at this age. He certainly will be remembered and missed.
  7. Hello, Belgium calling! Catching up on MFC and bouncing onto Debs idea which is without saying a great idea! I hope it will be a great party with lots of bells and whistles especially for those who have organised and lead MFC for 10 years already. So, of course something special should be in order. I think maybe it would be a (humble) idea that all MFC'ers all over the world who cannot be at the party perhaps could send a congratulations card with when and why they joined MFC with a little present for Mika. Someone could collect them all and put them together with those of the people who actually join the party in a very large box with a very big ribbon and present it to Mika. Furthermore I vote for London simply because it's Mika's hometown now and with all due respect for Italy, they have had the pleasure of his company all through several years now (x factor etc.) , the same for France (the voice etc.) therefore I hope London will win so I can pop over to one of the most wonderful metropole towns in the world again. At least for me it is, so fingers crossed!
  8. Hello everyone, just want to post my 'little' review about yesterday to whom it may concern. I was at the Swatch signing session at Brussels and I have to agree it was chaos and a bad organisation but let me nuance this. First of all, there were people from early in the morning which was very brave of them because it was a very sunny day. I arrived and bought a Mumu at approximately 13.15. I asked the Swatchman behind the counter what to do to make sure I was with the first 100 people. His reply (and I quote): "You have to queue up, but you can get a number with the people who are out there". I followed his instructions and thanks to two lovely young girls who showed me where to go, I got a number. (I was between 70 and 80) So I told other people who arrived behind me to do the same (Mikafans united!). The mood was good, everyone was nice, the sun was hot and the upper Swatchman walked around, seeing all was well, giving info and little Swatchmen were providing water and such. So far so good. BUT: around 17.45 people became tired, I was feeling like a cooked lobster and the Swatchmen weren't so nice anymore. Mika arrived 10 minutes late and suddenly it seemed that the numbers we were given weren't official and we needed a wristband to get in. These wristbands were given to random people and when I asked the same Swatchman, to whom I had asked info about earlier, he apologised and ran off! After waiting some more the Swatchmen told us we couldn't get in anymore (at 18.50!). So, to all the people that were pushing, cheating, crying (crocodile tears) and lying their way in thanks a lot!! Some of them didn't even bring anything to sign or didn't even knew Mika they only wanted to take a selfie! (what??) Anyway, upper Swatchman did an effort. First it was : "Ok, the people who are now waiting, only 20 of you can pass to watch Mika in front of the window." Second part: "Ok, it's Mika that's deciding. Not our fault you can't get in" (so not true! I think Mika was on a tight schedule and I think it was his manager who decided!) Thirdly: "Ok, I shall see what I can do" Fourthly: "Ok, you can go in but only to watch from front line" Fifthly: "Ok you can stand in line for just a minute and get out of here but we don't take pics or selfies anymore" (which I never do anyway out of respect) Ok, like all bad (or good) fairytales all ends well and I lived happily ever after. I did get in, talked with Mika for 30 seconds and got my watch signed. And again to all queue jumpers: thanks a lot hope you all get lots of rain on your holidays. To Swatch: thanks for the water, thanks for the chocolate, thanks for not using the number system, thanks for almost giving me heart attack, thanks for bad organisation (Favouritism and YOU SHALL NOT PASS lord of the rings s**t towards other people), basically: thanks for nothing. And to Mika: many thanks for making an effort doing this and do not apologise anymore for something that wasn't your fault!
  9. Well put Deb, I don't know any MFC'ers in person but the main thing is that we all love Mika regardless if he's perfect or not The important thing is that Mika connects people all over the world with his music and that is the basic thing, isn't it? So this was a constructive 'clearing the air' conversation
  10. The places are Corbeille A128 & Corbeille A30 so you can choose. I payed 143.72 CAD for one. Is that okay for you?
  11. Hello everyone, It has been a while since I posted anything on here but my health in 2014 wasn't super. In 2015 it's even worse. I didn't get permission of my doctor to leave for Canada. I have to get an urgent operation on Friday and another one next month. Everything was arranged but I had to cancel my trip. (Thankfully there is something called annulation insurance!) Therefore I am offering my tickets for sale for the price I payed. These are the dates, seats and prices: 10 February : Parterre C30 & Parterre C32 (99.16 CAD each) Corbeille A135 & Corbeille A137 (147.17 CAD each) 11 February : Corbeille C102 & Corbeille C101 (135.10 CAD each) 12 February : Corbeille A128 & Corbeille A30 (143.72 CAD each) If anyone is interested, please PM me! Thanks
