Yeah, but he can work with guys and help them to be unique, not a standardized product, that's what he's saying in the recent interviews regarding XF, and that is the value I'm sure he'll bring into the show.Your're either unique, or you're not, it's something that you have, not something that can be pulled out of nowhere.
THAT is what the X Factor was SUPPOSED to be about, instead, it's Simon Cowells bland music clone factory!
THAT is the reason Simon Cowell rejected Mika for in the first place, because he WAS unique, and NOT mainstream and bland!
I hate being so skeptical and I know people are going to tell me to have some faith in all of this, but how much is Mika really going to be allowed to bring uniqueness to the show? What Rose said about Simon Cowell stands correct.
They're not looking for someone who'll reinvent the wheel. They're looking for people who have the potential to become selling artists, not people who they can sign to an indie record label. Surely enough, the pop world has its oddities like Lady Gaga but even her success is largely due to the fact that she's managed to brand herself successfully. If you take away her odd stage props etc what do you have left? A great singer with somewhat conventional pop songs. In my opinion all of Mika's songs aren't ones that would appeal to the general public like Lady Gaga's. His uniqueness is in his sound and you can't strip that away like a meat dress. And that's why I don't completely understand his decision of being a part of this.
No offense to Lady Gaga fans, I like her too.

Because if 'being a fan' means that I am not allowed to express my own opinion when it's not favourable for Mika, then I am not a fan no.
Count me in on this one.
This is exactly what my problem with MFC has been for a while. I mean I haven't been here for very long at all and maybe it's been like this long before I registered - I wouldn't know what MFC was like at the beginning. Maybe I've only noticed it recently because my honeymoon with the place is over. But it annoys me that I get called a bad fan because I don't agree with everything Mika does or worship the ground beneath him. And honestly, anyone who never questions the choices of their idols are out of their mind. They remind me of some crazy cult who allow themselves to be lead anywhere just because their "leader" says so.
I totally understand where both of you are coming from, and yes, Ingie i do find this whole 'we must respect and trust him' irregardless of what he does a total line of cr*p..for me that dates back to the whole band thing - i have no idea why mika did what he did and my opinion didn't matter in any case but I felt the way things were done were distasteful. Maybe i was wrong ( and indeed tweets frm ex-band members sounds like everything was maybe very amicable) but i had an opinion and disagreement and telling me i should 'trust in mika' did nothing but irk me..+1.
I saw one of your tweets was about how sad it is that new fans are satisfied with so many distractions but you have to realise it's basically all we know! When I became a fan Mika was in hiding and all I had to do was chat with MFCers..having a sighting of him at some awards show was big news! much less a gig! So all these little projects are the norm and we don't know any betterI agree and disagree with you, honey. I mean we became fans roughly at the same time so I know what you mean by having anything to hear from Mika being exciting. But at the same time, the examples you mentioned have something to do with his music. I don't mind him having small projects but I just wish they had something to do with his actual profession. And I'm not referring only to this X Factor nonsense, I wasn't happy about his Belgian clothing collection either. These things take time from a new album and tour.
Someone mentioned that Mika shouldn't be viewed as a thing that produces music and I completely agree - I do like knowing something about the person behind the music. But at the same time, isn't his music what we're here for? At the end of the day that's all that matters.
GK was a shout against music industry. But against that part of music industry that wanted him to be "like" someone else.
Yes and wasn't that fabulous! Now, like so many others have said, he's doing the exact opposite of what he used to preach about with that song and that is what disappoints me. Mika once said he made alternative pop music and I loved him for saying that. It just seemed like the perfect way of describing his music. Now he's getting assocciated with something completely different that aims to producing calculated, formulated pop stars that all sound alike.

Think this is the one they're talking about. I get the impression that Mika really frightened the interviewer when he got angry

Good heavens that was cringe-worthy Poor Mika.

I've finally seen the season 3 finale and I can post here
about the finale:did you see that massacre off everyone coming???. it's like the govenor just lost it totally! i wonder where they went off on a road trip to...
and you think carl should've shot that dude?
I did NOT see that coming! He totally lost it. I can't wait to see what happens to him on season 4.
About season 3:
I can't believe they killed T-Dog, Merle and Andrea! I'm nowhere as upset about Lori dying as I am of those three. Especially T-Dog. And Merle. And Andrea.
... And on a totally unrelated note, who ~doesn't~ love Daryl?
-
Oh I love dr Reid! He's the reason I first started watching the show and know I'm totally obsessed with Criminal minds:naughty: One of the best shows ever!
My thoughts exactly!
I started watching the show in January, I think, and I'm ~almost~ caught up with all the episodes. The last one I watched was 8x13.
Kiva nähdä lisää suomalaisia täällä Tuittu!

I found this some time ago from Facebook - I can't remember the page or who made it but it's not mine.

Oh so you're the Tamagotchi tweeter - that was hilarious! I think I've seen your tweets on my feed earlier too but I never knew if you were on MFC or not.
Hope to see you around here!

You're welcome the song sounds really good to me
I thought so too! Shame it was such a short snippet. I hope they release an official single soon!

New Music: Empire Of The Sun 'Ice On The Dune'
New stuff from Empire Of The Sun coming this June! Here's the trailer from the new album... Ice On The Dune!

Thanks for posting this here - I saw it on Facebook but forgot to actually watch the video.
What a teaser though! I'm really curious about this album, I can't wait for June.

I especially liked them at the time because it was a glimpse into the "real" Mika and not his professional look that becomes boring pretty quickly IMO. Especially back in the day when someone wasn't filming or taking pics of him every 3 seconds and there were just a few professional photo shoots with him sporting the same look.
Oh that's a good point, I hadn't thought of it since the situation's a bit different these days.
What do you mean,is Mika living in the future?Mika is, in fact, living in the future. That explains his warped conception of time.
-
We have the same feelings.
-
And I love bowler hats But I find it funny to discuss it with those who don't like it! A good reason to have fun!
My thoughts exactly.
I guess it's always a bit risky to joke around on the internet since people don't have the same cues (facial expressions, tones of voice) as they do in real life. It's hard to judge what's a joke and what's not, what's meant as a funny remark and what's a mean one.
Then you have a cool grandpa Besides,Mika is not that awful on those glasses,IMOHmm... Nope, sorry. I've tried to understand these glasses, I really have, but they just don't look good on anyone. Not even on Mika. Maybe it's because it brings back memories from the late 90's/early 00's when people thought they were living in the future and wore similar glasses.

I don't see that it's any less "shallow" to find a look attractive than it is to find it unattractive.
I don't feel like it's anyone's intention to be catty since most people like Mika's style a lot. I think it's natural for women to do this and we're always telling our men what they should and shouldn't wear "you're not going out in THAT are you?!"
Personally I don't judge anything because it's "weird". No one can pull off weird like Mika can. But like every human being some things he wears are flattering to him and some are not.
Ditto!
I'd also like to add that I don't want to feel bad about myself just because I point out an item of clothing and say I don't like it or that it doesn't really suit Mika. I guess you could argue about whether or not it's judgmental but I've never thought this thread was about bashing Mika's choices. I don't sense any malice so I'm not sure what the problem is. For me, the thread is all about this...
-
Or maybe she's just not judgmental about slightly unusual clothing.I never said you couldn't! I just don't think it's fair or accurate to imply that all fans become shallow and catty over time.
I'm sorry but I don't like what you're implying here. I don't think I have to like everything he does to call myself a fan.
-
Yeah, I saw it and was like amused-pleased. But confused. Then I saw it on one of the videos here and felt like Sherlock It's not ugly!!!!! I couldn't say that about it *strokes weird thingy protectively*
I know right?! It's like several smiling eggs and a butterfly overlapping each other. Who wouldn't love that?
-
Wow, love it! I was wondering what your picture was
It's the cover of No More Stories, only with different colours.
They actually received a lot of criticism because of the album cover, people seem to think it's rather ugly. I like it, it's cute.

I've been listening to Mew's Frengers alot lately and I'm currently in love with this song, it's so beautiful it hurts.
There's an official video for the song too but it's a shorter version so I'm linking the original one.

I love listening to these guys in winter time, their songs are a perfect combination of melancholy and warmth.
-
I voted based on the times I've played the tracks on my music library: the three with most plays are Step With Me, Lola and Overrated.
I agree with Dreamy_Queen though. The more I listen to the album the harder it is to pick a favourite track. If I had to pick three based on which ones I like right now I'd probably say Kids, MYH and OOL. I'm still not a fan of Heroes, Popular or LYWID (although the acoustic version of LYWID is gorgeous).
-
no ... I did it.
Sorry guys ... I won't do it again. I didn't think it would cause so many fuzz ... I thought it would be obvious that Mika didn't do this.
*goes back to bad fan corner*
I think it was hilarious. I totally bought it!
-
But he didn't post it. And I don't like that it was posted in this thread, making people think he did.
Wait, what? I thought he really tweeted it and you were joking about how he should've posted it to a specific MFC thread.
I've reached a brand new level of stupidity.
-
But it's hilarious anyway I was expecting some lovely picture with a nice view of trees, but this is way better.
+1
Isn't there a specific thread for this kind of photoshop shenanigans?... Wonkaland?
That's the only thing that would've made this even funnier: seeing Mika post the picture there. "Look guise I made this all by myself!"
-
Yes, butif I've done that I wouldn't have made a fool out of myself
Oh but you didn't! No one knew how bad a fan you (or the rest of us) were until you admitted it yourself by posting to this thread.
Oh sure! But then your inboxes would be bursting! We won't mind.
-
Do you think we will be banned?
Probably yes.
Why am I getting déjà vu here my dear Welly?I have no idea Amir. I mean I never, EVER repeat myself right?!
